A) We offer up two home runs from our brother Pastor Ray Bentley. Pastor Ray is with Jesus, and I love him, miss him, and am jealous of him all at the same time. His book, “This Day,” is an exceptional devotional like his other materials. We receive nothing for this promotion except to be directing people to be blessed. Check out: www.raybentley.com
B) Pressing On is an encouragement to quit. Quit whining, that is. There is no other place to go to find or hear the words of eternal life than to Jesus. Since there is no other option, we have to make a choice: we can pout and stew in our misery, which many unfruitful believers choose to do. Or we can get up, wipe off the dirt, and take the next step.
C) Uriah Heep was both a band and a Charles Dickens character. The irony is that the character, like the band, thought that by “faking humble,” they were being humble. Guess whom that doesn’t fool? That’s right. God sees every motive of the heart. There is no acceptable “faking” in the kingdom.
