1) This segment carries a significant emotional weight, mirroring the previous moments. Roslyn calls in to share her profound loss, while Robert also mourns the passing of someone he knows. Despite these hardships, David, an audience member, exhibits an unwavering commitment to moving forward. He firmly believes that God has always been faithful and will continue to be so. Everything that God allows serves a greater purpose beyond human comprehension, highlighting the importance of genuine trust. 2)Furthermore, David delves into the first part of his discussion on the causes of prayerlessness. It proves to be a challenging lesson but an essential one. He emphasizes that we often devote excessive time to gratifying our worldly desires and succumbing to our old selves. It is crucial to distinguish between our pre-Christ identity and our transformed nature in Christ. While the old self has been crucified, it has not been entirely eradicated. Simultaneously, the new self is born again but remains undernourished when we cater to the desires of the old self. Consequently, the true cause of prayerlessness lies in the internal battle between the flesh (the old carnal nature) and the born-again spiritual self. These two aspects are in constant conflict with each other.

A) In a very emotionally charged show, David starts out by teaching in Psalm thirty-seven. In Psalm 37:13, we get to find that God has a wicked sense of humor. By wicked, I don’t actually mean wicked. I mean, totally awesome sense of humor. Ecclesiastes Chapter 3, verse four says. There is a time to weep and a time to laugh, and while the laughter the Lord has is centered in derision, ridicule or mockery, it clearly demonstrates that God has humor built into his system. Again, if you’re unsure of this, please just pull out a small pocket mirror and take a look.B) Next, John calls in with an update on Nola. And it is not what everybody has been praying for. It's very tough to hear that she may be coming to the end of her earthly journey. And everybody in the audience, including David and D, feel the pain and the heaviness. Prayer for John. Prayer for Nola. Prayer for Nola's parents. In prayer that our faith does not fail in the hardest of time. Job said, though God Slay me, yet will I trust him(Job 13:15, KJV)..

1) The right kind of person. For the right kind of job. That sounds cool. It makes it sound like there is an opening for someone who would fit the description of what someone else is looking for. Guess what, Johnny…you win the prize. God is looking for the right kind of person. You and I may be that person. But the only way to know is to review the description that God has given. So, we examine the characteristics of people God is looking for. Do we fit the call? 2) As I love to do, I now present what is sure to be an ear-tickling review of the ridiculous ideologies of our own American government and the culturally crazy kids of our time. It will be ear-tickling because the government may be listening in. It’s not a conspiracy theory. But it doesn’t matter. I somewhat hope they do listen. Then perhaps a few people in the palace can hear our testimonies and get saved.3) The WHAT and the WHY. There are two critical principles that we will review so that we can understand the reason and the basis for the things that the Lord does for us. It is an amazing process to consider the principles that motivate God. And to get the best feel for it, we jump back into Isaiah.4) We will close with the GREATEST lesson for each one of us if we have been hurt. Yep, I even wrote a book about this. It’s entitled BROKEN FOR HIS GLORY: Why God's Plan for You May Have Involved a Painful Experience. It’s free on Kindle and super low priced for paperbacks (under 5 bucks). The key to this lesson is to understand the “connect” part on God’s side. Don’t miss this!

A) Matthew 12 makes it tough for us. The disciples were following the awaited messiah, but the Pharisees didn’t see it that way. To start with, it wasn’t a violation to “walk through” the grain fields. But as they were walking, they got hungry. That is still not a sign. But then they grabbed some wheat, broke their heads, and then started eating. Even at this point, an accusation is dicey because there was not technically harvesting grain.B) This should be a warning tag for authentic believers. The Pharisees attacked with a “potential” technicality. Their complaints were spurred on by their trying to find fault with Jesus and thereby trying to find fault with His disciples. As it was then, so it is now. Unbelievers, the worldly, and the culture clubs of the current century are very similar to the Pharisees. If you break “their” perception of the rules, then you are the enemy and declared evil. And it is O. K. to do anything to those that are perceived as “evil.”C) Here’s how Jesus handled it. He pointed to something that was much more of an actual breach than what the Pharisees were winning about. And in that much more severe incident, He justified the actions of David beyond the written Law. That is EXACTLY what Jesus did - like it or not.D) Then Jesus took it to the next level. He showed that the Law was not breached because “on the surface,” it looked breached. But here is the kicker. Bill O’Reilly was fond of saying, “Two wrongs don’t make a right,” BUT that is exactly what Jesus used to teach. He followed it by saying: Mercy is GREATER than sacrifice.

1) We now conclude the whining and complaining that has come from Job and his three friends. However, Job's last arguments are noteworthy. While they may not be justifiable, they reflect his sincere beliefs. Only when the Lord confronts us with the truth can we begin to change our perspectives.
2) Job continues to assert that he has not placed his trust in money. In our society, money, power, and fame often take precedence over Jesus, indicating prevalent idolatry. While America may be a great nation, when a nation receives great power and blessings, there is an expectation that it honors God. Sadly, this has been declining over time. Unlike the case of Sodom and Gomorrah, we cannot use the process of determining righteousness for a nation because it was a city. He will judge nations in rebellion against the Lord.
3) Job further states that he does not rejoice in the ruin of others, even his enemies. Although it may be challenging, we should pray for their healing instead of desiring their destruction. Many godless leaders are blinded in mind and led astray in heart, and it is only by God's grace that they can find true life.
4) Lastly, Job highlights the importance of not living in fear of the crowd. Society often emphasizes pleasing the crowd through fame, social media, and other forms of popularity. However, as Christians, we should not seek to please the crowd but to honor God.

1) Of course, it's Monday, so David goes rogue. Instead of talking about his usual topics, he discusses his experience with the Lord God Almighty earlier that day. Understanding that God loves us transcends our intellect. It's not there for us to try to ascertain how much God can or cannot love us based on what we do, think, say, or feel. His love is absolute because that is what He is made of. 2) After that, David goes back to 1 Timothy 3:10-12 and discusses the different belief systems regarding women, wives of deacons, deacons, and different denominational thought processes as each one is brought up. David reassures everyone listening that this is not a matter of fellowship but a matter of ecclesiology - the function, rule, government, and doctrine of the church itself. Different churches run things in different ways, just like different Christians have different walks with the Lord. But it is one Father, one Son, and one Holy Spirit.

1) It's important for Christians to understand that struggling against sin is a much better place to be than simply just accepting sin in our lives. In Isaiah, there's a challenging portion that talks about the things that block the flow of God, and it all comes down to that nasty word sin. The truth of the matter is that sin, in any and every capacity, create barriers between God and us. Once we are Christians, the judicial side of life is handled by the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. But the day-to-day practical aspects of sin in our lives BLOCKS the pipe and the flow between God and us. We need some Divine Drano. 2) A few pseudo-Christian groups try to say that the cross is not a beautiful thing. But they're wrong. In and on the cross, we moved from death to life. In and on the cross, we find forgiveness. And in and on the cross, we find the record of our debt eliminated. And in and on the cross, we find the legal demands have been set to satisfaction. When we nail it to the cross, it's over. It is finished! That’s exactly what Jesus said. That means we can glory and boast in, on, and about the cross because it is at the cross where we first see the light.

A) Hebrews 12:12 instructs us to strengthen our tired hands and weak knees, making straight paths for our feet so that what is weak may not be dislocated but healed. This verse presents a thought-provoking concept: although certain aspects of our walk and physical being may be lacking strength, it is crucial to strengthen them so they do not become completely useless or lame. Instead, our pursuit should be focused on healing and strengthening these areas in the Lord. Sometimes, we simply need to gather our strength and rely on His power. B) The pursuit of peace with everyone is encouraged, but it should never involve compromising the truth. Unfortunately, modern applications of Scripture often fall short in this regard. While we aim to pursue peace, we should also strive for holiness, as the two are interconnected. Pursuing peace at the expense of holiness is not the path we should choose.C) The author concludes by addressing a challenging aspect that believers face – ensuring that none fall short of the grace of God and that no root of bitterness takes hold. This passage highlights two key points. First, people fall short of God's grace when they revert to relying solely on the law, abandoning the principle of grace. Second, when bitterness takes root within us, it contaminates every aspect of our Christian lives, impairing our functionality.

1) As we delve into Acts, Chapter 17, we witness Paul and Silas traveling and arriving at Thessalonica. Verse two of Chapter 17 mentions that it was Paul's custom. It is essential to understand that customs and traditions can be beneficial in our endeavors. However, Jesus cautioned against the problem of valuing customs and traditions more than the objective of drawing close to God. He criticized the Pharisees for prioritizing their traditions and rules over the word of God. 2) For three consecutive weeks, Paul presented interpretations of the scriptures. He explained the prophecies from the Old Testament concerning the Messiah and the resurrection. Paul did not rely on flashy presentations or multimedia. Instead, he diligently expounded on the Old Testament prophecies, demonstrating how they were fulfilled in Jesus Christ, the Messiah, culminating in His resurrection from the dead. The heart of the gospel lies in the resurrection of Jesus.3) As often happens, many people believed and were persuaded, resulting in their conversion. However, when individuals change their allegiances, those on the losing side tend to become jealous and create as many problems as possible. In this case, the Jewish leaders instigated a mob riot involving worthless and uncharacteristic people. They targeted their friends and associates since they couldn't directly reach Paul and Silas.4)It is crucial to keep in mind that when the world cannot confront Jesus directly, they will instead target His followers. In modern times, guilt by association remains prevalent, particularly for Christians. This can be quite challenging. As it was then, so it is now. There will be an increase of guilt by association for the Christians, more than anybody else. Ouch.

A) The Apostle Paul makes an interesting confession that requires thoughtful consideration when reading the word of God. He states that if he caused any problems or sorrows, he does not regret it. However, in the very next statement, he acknowledges that he did feel regret. Some may view this as a contradiction, but it is not. Paul is expressing that he needed to send them a letter and that action would inevitably cause sorrow, which was his priority. However, he also feels sorry that he had to be the one to deliver the rebuke. There is nothing bizarre about this; sometimes, the Lord uses us to provide both rebuke and encouragement. B) Paul further clarifies that although they experienced sorrow, it was not meant to be long-lasting but rather a short-term sorrow that led them to repentance. He is sorry that they had to endure sorrow, but he is glad that it resulted in their repentance. Additionally, he emphasizes that the believers felt the sorrow as intended by God.C) It is important to note that experiencing emotions, including sorrow, is not inherently wrong. However, emotions should not dictate the course of our lives. Furthermore, Paul highlights that sometimes-challenging situations originate from God Himself. To some extent, Paul shifts the responsibility of the process into the hands of God by reassuring them that they were not harmed by Him.D) Paul concludes this thought process with a powerful statement, explaining that godly sorrow leads to repentance, which ultimately leads to salvation without regret. This showcases how God utilizes the power of sorrow to guide us to where we need to be, such as salvation, and we never regret the end result. In contrast, Paul highlights the sorrow system of the world, which leads to death, while God's system leads to life.

First, here we are, back in the saddle again, and I hope that this particular teaching will be a blessing for many of you. I'm drawing inspiration from one of the verses we discussed on Sunday, which pertains to maintaining a fighting spirit and waging warfare through the power of truth. I want to emphasize the vital importance of this truth, which is imperative and comes directly from the Lord. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, as we look towards the future, let us remember that it is held by God and is ultimately good.Next, today, we will examine the divine call that Israel received to enter the promised land. It was a significant appointment orchestrated by God, guiding Israel on its journey toward this destination. Similarly, in our own lives, we often encounter divine appointments. These are moments when the Lord coordinates events to bring people, places or things together, even if the purpose may not be immediately apparent. As Christians, we recognize these situations as setups by God, divine appointments designed to fulfill His greater purpose and plan. Finally, however, in this teaching, it's crucial to understand that while divine appointments exist, it doesn't guarantee smooth sailing all the time. Even Jesus, when He was in the boat in the perfect will of God, faced a storm. It's important for us to remember that when things don't go the way we expect, it doesn't mean God is creating disillusionment. On the contrary, God desires to bless His children and guide them toward a greater life in Him. Let's explore this further together.

What a remarkable return to the studio after a few days off! Praise the Lord! We had the privilege of a wonderful brother calling in to share one of the areas he desires to work on, which is overcoming fear. I commend this brother for his honesty and courage in acknowledging his fear, confessing it, and seeking help. It's rare to find individuals who are willing to be so open about their struggles. We all had the opportunity to join him, support him, and pray for the Lord's deliverance from fear. Interestingly, his fear seems to be more focused on the well-being of others and his own performance, which demonstrates his selflessness and remarkable character.
Following that inspiring moment, Brother Al called in to share a praise report. His presence on the show is truly a blessing to all of us. We want to take a moment to acknowledge that we will continue to pray for Brother Al, bless him, and celebrate the incredible brother in Christ that he is. It's moments like these that remind us of the beautiful connections we have in our faith community.
