1) I stand immovable that God, who created the universe, can write a book. There is no question where our plumbline is. And there is never a doubt as to that being our best authority to know the things of God. Along with that best authority is the reality that we don’t live in self-denial. I understand that denial is not just a river in Egypt. But living in denial is saying that God doesn’t do things in our lives because the phrase experience has become some kind of taboo in the church. Ironically, The Scripture teaches that this very thinking is wrong.
2) Have you ever had an argument with somebody? I know I have. I’ve argued with every person I have ever met, including God. I’ve even had an argument with myself. Yep, it takes place from time to time. Arguing with people at different times and at different places does not make us argumentative. An argumentative person is a person who is looking for an argument. Argumentative reminds me of Monty Python. The person comes to the door and asks, “is this the Department of Arguments?” The clerk on the inside says, “No, it isn’t.” Get it.
3) When the Bible shares a story about somebody’s faith and then shares that story again through another person. And then shares that story again through another person. And then shares that story again through another person. Perhaps it is something we should take notice of. Perhaps it means that we should pay more attention to what God is trying to communicate. Good idea.

Hebrews 11:12 clarifies that Abraham was as good as dead. That means no child coming from him and no child coming out of her. But out of the dead came life, a resurrection, a testimony regarding Jesus Christ. Not only did they produce a child, but their offspring was larger than they could imagine. We do know that Abraham faced the fact that there was no way anything could happen that would generate life. But he believed that God could do it anyway. A lesson for us all!

1) Then John Mark left them. Uh oh. This is the same guy who was related to Barnabas. Barnabas is the guy that went to the mat for Saul, who will become Paul. John Mark was a part of the team. Remember Acts 12:25, which states, “Taking John Mark with them.” Now, only less than 12 months later, John Mark is jumping ship. This is a key event for the future of the church. Not for any other reason but that John Mark and the Apostle Peter connect. God does things without telling His Apostles about it, just like it happens to you and me.
2) Brothers, if you have a word of encouragement. Certainly, Saul preached a fiery message. He was all about fire and brimstone. But only when the occasion called for it. And NO, it is not ALWAYS called for. YES, there are times to let the fire burn. But wisdom is the key. And Jesus’s teachings range from “You will burn forever in Hell” to “God so loved the world in this way that He gave His only Son for their salvation.” The type of message has a great deal to do with being led by the Holy Spirit (example).
3) Then, the history of Israel comes into play. Saul does a masterful job of connecting with his audience. His audience is the people of Israel, the Jews and the Gentiles who fear God. God loves Israel. And He hates those who hate Israel (Gen. 12:3). There is NO middle ground. A person is either on God’s side or not!

A) The ministry of death is contrasted with the ministry of the Spirit. And the reason is that “ultimately,” the Law produces death. The ministry of the Holy Spirit produces life. The Law was given so that we could understand the depth and the level of our sin. That is what the covenant of the Law was intended to do. The new covenant of Grace, unmerited favor, is intended to allow us to understand that beyond our own failures, God has a redeeming answer for us.
B) Paul then goes even deeper in his comparisons by explaining that the new covenant has so much glory and surpasses the old covenant (by so much) that there is no comparison. What he states is the same thing that the author of the book of Hebrew states. Because of the greater glory that has come by the from, the glory from the old is fading away.
C) Paul then draws the conclusion (through the Holy Spirit) that we have an amazing hope from the New Covenant. And because of that hope, we have the ability to be bold. We don’t have to put a veil over our faces. We don’t have to worry about the glow of God’s presence departing from us. Because the Holy Spirit lives inside us, the Lord never leaves nor diminishes within us.

A) Let's try and understand something as the people of God. There is no normal Church simply because God is not normal. An equally important truth is that there is no normal Christianity. Why? Because God's engagement with people always produces different forms of results.
B) The Holy Spirit was involved in the creation of the Earth, the birth of Jesus Christ, the creation of the Church, the writing of The Scriptures, and our salvation. It doesn't start in the Holy Spirit and end up somewhere else. It doesn't start in the Holy Spirit and ends up with letters. That is exactly contrary to the word of God.
C) So, with the Holy Spirit, I want to explain the difference between being led and being driven. With leading, sensitivity, softness, and kindness are inherent in the word. Being driven has more of a ferociousness, a pounding, of pushing that goes past kindness.
D) There is another significant element to understanding the power of walking with the Holy Spirit on a day-by-day basis. When we walk with the Holy Spirit, we are glorifying Jesus Christ, which is a key part of the ministry of the Holy Spirit. We need to get in step with the Spirit.

1) King David says don't let me be ashamed, Lord, for I've called upon You. This is our way of saying please, God, don't fail me now. The way that David is asking is not a lack of faith but a request for a quickness of action on his behalf. He recognizes God’s greatness but asks Him to demonstrate that greatness right now!
2) David shares a secret in his psalm. He says something regarding the people who fear Him and trust in Him. Lord, you hide them in the secret place of Your presence. That means that God's very presence is the place to go where nobody else is around and when nobody else is around. We find our refreshment, strength, comfort, safety, and our answers are in God alone.
3) David confesses that he makes statements in haste, which is a simple way of saying that we speak before we think. And he felt like he was cut off before the eyes of the Lord. But what he recognizes is that that thinking was not accurate. The truth is that the Lord preserves the faithful. So he writes to others, but also to himself. Be of good for courage and strengthen your heart all who hope in the Lord, including himself. By the way, that includes YOU!

1) I like gifts. Sorry. I know that I am not supposed to admit it, but I do. Now, the truth must be told. I don’t like ALL gifts. I like gifts that I think are cool or awesome. I love gifts that fill a need I have. God is a gift.
2) No compromise by Keith Green was (and is) one of my favorite songs. One of the lines in it states, “I want more than Sundays and Wednesday nights. Because if you can’t come to me every day, then don’t bother coming at all.” I know that sounds brutal. But only to humans who have no serious connection to Jesus. The premise of the so should be our anthem for Christian living. When we bargain in our faith, instead of standing firm in our faith, we show that we are loving Jesus a little bit less at that moment.
3) Once we are firm in the faith, with no compromise to satan, secular, sin or self, we are free to engage in theologies. There has been a difference of opinion regarding the theology of free will and predestination for a bazillion years. OK, not a bazillion, but for a long time. At this point, it demonstrates more of a pride issue as opposed to how great both of these theologies are. We pick a side, and we stick with it. And we are right, no matter what anybody else says. Even God. That’s how arrogant people can be. But the Lord is patient with us. And instead of trying to win the argument, perhaps we can expand our insights into the Lord.

A) A leader came to Jesus. His daughter just died. I do not think it is inappropriate, in any fashion, to imagine his pain. Desperation can lead to very powerful depression. But it can also lead to amazing moments of faith. His daughter died. But the father’s hope did not. There was only one place to find a miracle.
B) Just then. A woman came into the picture in the middle of what so many would understand as a heavy moment. Perhaps this is the time to call out those who say, “God is so busy, He can’t answer your less-than-death deliverance prayers.” Jesus is going to respond WHILE IN ROUTE to do a substantial miracle by doing another substantial miracle. He is NEVER too busy to hear you and me, to help you and me, and to love you and me.

1) As we mentioned before, keep in mind that Job's friends say many great things and many wonderful truths, but they are doing it all with the wrong assumption This wrong assumption leads them to wrong conclusions with the truths that they're operating with. He mentions that it would be better to have died at birth than never to have existed. Of course, that's a foolish statement because dying at birth would mean that there was no existence to be aware of. Then he tells God just leave me alone because he only has a little time left. Number one, he doesn't know how much time he is left. And number two, each human being is God's property to do with as He sees fit. He is the creator of life. He decides what does and does not happen.
2) Next, stepping up to the plate with a swing and a miss is Zopher. He's not wrong in saying, A person is not proven innocent because they talk a lot. Lots of talking doesn't mean a person is correct It just means that there's lots of talking. And in regard to prayer, it means even less. Because Jesus was very clear about those, who babble on. They are much more likely to be from Babylon.
3) Zopher accurately says that people cannot discover everything there has to do with God. This is along the lines of Deuteronomy 29:29, which says, "The secret things belong at them to the Lord."
4) Zopher declares that Job's problems are all because of his iniquity and his sin. And he is 100% wrong. He tries to convince Job that if he would just abandon his sin, he'll be doing great, and life will be fantastic. He will have courage again, and there will be nothing to worry about or despair about. The problem with this thinking is that the entire situation has nothing to do with Job's sin. So, the premise is wrong. Therefore, the conclusion is wrong. Therefore, the judgment is wrong. Therefore, Zopher is wrong. That's the problem with so many Christians. They keep thinking they know what's going on and giving the answers when they are, in fact, as clueless as can be.

A) As Paul prepares Timothy for the daunting task of overseeing multiple. Multiple regions. It reminds them that the purpose of the law stands. Stands firm. And no way, shape or form is Paul belittling the law. The law is necessary for people to understand the conviction of sin. If, of course, it is used lawfully or correctly.
B) It’s astonishing to understand that the conviction of sin falls under the similar heading of murderers, kidnappers, liars, fornicators and sodomites. Without any reservation or hesitation, the. These sins are the same as the penalty for any sin: separation from God. For reference sake, sodomites refer to homosexuals, perverts, and anybody who defies themselves with the same sex. And fornicators, which are equally evil, are people that break the holiness of the marital covenant between a husband and wife or enter into an intimacy outside of the marriage commitment. Too bad if people don’t like it.

A: There is a challenge for many of us who are believers. It is something that Tommy Barnett Sr. preached many years ago. He told the congregation to try not to be reactors but actors. In other words, don't just respond to things but try to take action regarding things. One of the issues that many Christians face is how they respond to trials and to testing. They can have reactions, or they can have actions. An action would be diving deeper into the Lord to try and connect better through the situation. A reaction would be getting frustrated and turning away from things that promise relief but never deliver. The real question is, when things are tough and when there are trials and testing, where do we turn?
B: I want to be very careful in this DDD I will share regarding Mankind and animals. Let's not misunderstand that there is an interesting correlation between how we love our animals and how God loves us. But we don't want to go too far down this rabbit hole. Still, there is the truth that they don't know how we will take care of them, and yet we always do. There does need to be a distinction because Jesus died for people. That does not mean He does not love animals, and that does not mean that the animals will not participate in heaven. What we know for sure is that redemption is coming to Creation. We don't understand how that will look or how that will be, but we do need to recognize that animals can be a blessing to us. But they are not our equal in the purchasing power of the blood of Jesus.
C) I love to talk about expectations. The reason that I enjoy it so much is that every time I talk about it, my own expectations increase. That's a good benefit to teaching. In the book of Acts story, when the beggar fixes his attention on Peter and John, he expects to receive something. Therein lies the great lesson: he expects to receive it. He's anticipating its reception.

1: Abraham is one of the greatest people of faith and understanding. He was looking for a city whose foundation, architect, and builder is God. That helps us understand that he was looking for a place with stability, cool looks, and a reliable builder. The key in this text is to understand that Abraham was looking forward. He wasn't thinking he would find all of this in the sand. He knew he was going to find this in the sky.
2: Although Sarah is often maligned because she laughed when God said she would have a child (sidebar: Abraham laughed first), she still operated with faith. She still went with Abraham. She stood by her husband's side, believing in the greatest of things that God can do. And that faith that she had enabled her to receive power. She considered God faithful, and she was able to receive power. That would generate life where there was no life and hope where there was no hope. Hint, hint.
