1) Job Continues down his spiral of discouragement. He makes a statement that many of us make. It’s all the same to God, one way or another. While it’s true that our opinions don’t hold weight, it’s false to think that our hearts do not. And as the children of God, he knows our hearts. But when you make statements like the entire world is in the hands of The wicked. Then you know you’re having a pretty bad day.2) Here is a crucial Jesus text; Job says, in verse 33 of Chapter 9; if only there were a mediator who could bring us together. If only a person could bridge the gap between the Divine and the human. If only somebody could understand his hurt and pain and faithfully represent God in the engagement. This is where The author of Ecclesiastes proves his knowledge as limited, though he thought himself exceedingly wise. Nevertheless, there is a new thing under the sun. His name is Jesus, and He is the mediator between God and mankind. 3) It’s worth noting that as we reflect on Job, he’s speaking directly from his pain at this particular point. When he or anyone else who’s an authentic believer speaks from pain, it usually doesn’t come out sounding like roses.

You can't make this stuff up on today's "The David Spoon Experience." Eric shares a fantastic testimony regarding Lisa, and then Dave talks about his visit to Community Life Church, in which the pastor talks about the necessity of us understanding all of our positions before the Lord and not for the glory of ourselves. No matter what that position is and no matter what that occupation is. Everything we do, we do unto the Lord. Right after Dave shares this, the first fill that comes up has to do with Dave talking (in the past) about everything we do, it needs to be done unto the Lord. How cool is that? God has perfect timing.

1) Let’s make sure that we are on the same page. Numbers are numbers. They are not racist. Neither is the alphabet or snow that falls from the sky. But numbers can be used to twist the truth. How? By people who are liars, lying about numbers. Remember Mark Twain’s “'There are three kinds of lies: lies, darn lies, and statistics.” So let’s not falsely use numbers. Instead, let’s review the actual numbers that are in the Bible. Perhaps they can give us some insight.
2) There are so many signs that Jesus did. What the Gospels do is amazing in that they share so many stories from four different authors with such outstanding consistency. The idea that four people could see a two-hour movie and come up with the same conclusions and reviews is meniscal. The idea that four people could share the events of the Messiah, over three and a half years, and have ANY continuity, is miraculous. But what was written was written for Humanity. And what was recorded can help people find true life in Jesus.
3) Loving God first is still first. By this, I mean that the idea of loving God is evident in the first three of the ten commandments and the two summation commandments from Jesus. Denial, denial, love Me, love Me, and love Me. But there is one “secret sauce” inside this terrific story. And when we see it, we rejoice.

A) By faith, Abel offered a better offering. Was it because Abel offered animals and Cain offered plants? No. Genesis 4:3-4 states Cain presented some of his crops as a gift to the LORD. 4Abel also brought a gift—the best portions. It wasn’t what it was. It was the quality of what was offered. By faith, no leftovers. Or God will reject it. The church may accept it, but that doesn’t mean so much.
B) Even though He is dead, he still speaks. Right here. Genesis 1, 3, and 4 all speak of eternity in some fashion. Here it is spelled out that being dead is not being over. You and I are not existential beings. We are not like a TV that is plugged in and plugged out. We speak, even after death. And a Christian who doesn’t believe in the resurrection is no Christian. Ask Jesus, Peter, or Paul.
C) Enoch was taken away. He did not experience death. But everybody has to die because everybody sins. Therefore, Enoch is one of the two witnesses. There is no teaching like this until the 20th It is ridiculous. Enoch was taken by God. Why? Because God, who created the Law, is NOT NOW NOR WILL EVER BE subject to the Law. But Dave, what about universal laws? God, who created the Law, is NOT NOW NOR WILL EVER BE subject to the Law. Ever. He chooses. If you don’t like it, line up behind Job.

1) Chapter 13 of the Book of Acts is a shift of focus towards Saul, who becomes Paul. A destroyer of the church becomes one of the most potent builders of the church. Five people are identified as profits and teachers. No, a prophet and a teacher are not the same. They are distinct positions when we review Ephesians Chapter 4, verse 11. These five are not the only influential people in the church, as they are identified as coming out of the Church of Antioch.2) After a time of worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said. OK, here’s a massive key for all of us who want to hear the voice of the Lord. Of course, the definitive voice of the Lord comes from the word of the Lord. The BIBLE is the book. It is the standard and the plum line. But to think that the Holy Spirit doesn’t speak to people is simply foolishness. The wisdom here is to see how they heard the voice of the Holy Spirit. After worship and fasting. Hint, hint.3) It turns out that there was a special work for Paul and Barnabas to do. We see that revealed as we journey through the remainder of the Book of Acts. Specifically, Paul is in focus. Keep in mind that Luke is the author. But what is impressive is what they did AFTER being told there was something to do. It was followed by more fasting and prayer—hint, hint, hint, hint.

A) The perfume and cologne industry is a multi-billion dollar industry. Men and women want to smell good. Amazingly. Christians are a sweet aroma to God and others. To the people who are perishing, we smell like death. To those who love Jesus, we smell like life. Amazingly, how are we qualified for such a task? We are not. Only God makes us competent. B) In the past and the present, people pedal the word of God. That means that these people use the word of God for financial means. Their purpose is ultimately to line their pockets. How sad that is because they’re just lining up for God’s judgment. When we speak for God (and do speak for God), we should do it with genuine sincerity, not dark motives.C) Paul asks the Corinthian Christians if he needs a letter of recommendation because of all he has done for them on their behalf. He’s making sure they understand all the time, energy, effort, prayer, teaching, commitment, sweat, blood, and tears he’s poured into them. Paul demonstrates he's a true leader because of how he defines success. It’s based on how people do after they engaged with him.

1) How did God create at the beginning, of the beginning? Genesis 1:3 states And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. So, through speaking, God initiated the universe as we know it. But just as we know it. Since God is greater than our comprehension, His universe is along the infinite elements. But we are finite.
2) If the Lord preserved the illustration of the power of His speech in CHAPTER ONE of His writings, then there are strong reasonings that there is a purpose for us to see. What might that purpose be? Life and death, light and darkness, are connected to the tongues’ power and to speeches’ power. His speech breathes life, which we understand from His WORD. And our speech, who follow in the image of our Creator.
3) There is talking to God, spiritual enemies, ourselves, and other people. These areas require the natural witness of two ears and one mouth. But it can go even deeper than that. Our words manifest who we are. It helps us understand the pathway we are walking. Is our speech season with grace (Colossians 4:6 > Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone), or is our speech seasoned with gravel? Rutt row.

A) By your favor: Standing strong. The reality check is that everything we accomplish, every good thing, every victory, points its way back to the king of the universe.
B) What profit is there in my blood? In essence, if I’m dead, I can’t be singing your praises in your temple. I can’t tell anyone how great You are if I’m dead. So how can I write or speak for your glory if I’m finished?
C) You have turned my mourning…into dancing. Woohoo. God takes the down and makes it up. God takes the bad and makes it good. God turns discouragement into encouragement. God turns it around.
D) It’s Friday, but Sunday’s coming. “I will give thanks to You forever.” Thanksgiving is the call for every believer, every day in everything.

1) Do not but do. Okay, let me rephrase this. First, there are things that the Lord wants you and me “not” to do. And Second, there are things that the Lord “does” want us to do. There is no perfect order to this in general. However, in this case, the do not precedes the do. And is often the case; this has much to do with faith, or the lack thereof. The biggest difference is not which one comes first, but the results: When we do not and do or do and do not, the results are that we get a clearer picture of Jesus for ourselves.
2) Once again, for the umpteenth time, we have a declaration that Jesus is God. When people get uncomfortable about acknowledging Jesus as God, your brain buzzer should be humming. It is, without question, The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit. The word “name” in Matthew 28:19 is singular. And when Jesus was called God, He agreed.
3) Two steps forward and one step back. Bummer. Until we realize that this is still “net” one step, which means there has been progress. In this particular teaching, we will use the insights from both Job and from James, the brother of Jesus. The book of Proverbs makes this clear: Wisdom is supreme; so acquire wisdom. And whatever you may acquire, gain understanding (Proverbs 4:7). We look at the pathway to get Wisdom.

A) Jesus tells the people that He is there to help those who are sick. There’s a lot of confusion that surrounds this. So let’s make it absolutely clear. He’s not talking about those who are sick from sin because that’s everybody. He’s talking about those who could recognize that they’re sick from sin. In other words, he’s not dealing with the people who are in denial about their iniquities. He’s dealing with people who are being honest about it.B) Jesus then says I desire mercy, not sacrifice. What He’s really communicating is what the purpose of the law is. The depth of the law is not the fulfillment of sacrificial obligation as much as the spirit of the law crying out for godly righteousness.

1) If He commands it, the sun won't rise. Sometimes, I need to restate great biblical truths that should be at the forefront of our minds. The sun will not rise without God's command. Despite what scientists say (and the naysayers), the universe continues its functionality every moment, as declared by the Lord God Almighty. If He decides it's over, then it's over.2) He performs miracles without numbers. This is not to say that God does not know the number of miracles He will do. This is to say that we do not know the number of miracles that God will do. We will never be able to understand the level of depth (or the quality) of the miracles of God. The only thing that's in question is our belief.3) Who am I that I should try to answer or reason with God? It would be remarkable if most of us would stop trying to reason with God (hash out a deal or have God explain everything He's doing to us) so we can give Him our approval. If His ways are higher than ours and His thoughts are higher than ours, how can the finite think they can be on a par level with the infinite? Sometimes, we're our own worst enemies. 4) But He attacks me without reason and multiplies my wounds without cause. Again this is just fleshly foolish thinking. God never allows anything for nothing. It's not a grand experiment. He knows exactly what He's doing. It's difficult for us to understand when we do not see the purpose of what appears. It feels even more challenging to trust Him for his promises and goodness. Sorry, God

A) Welcome to 1 Timothy: By way of introduction, there is the first of the letters, written by the Apostle Paul, regarded as the "Pastoral Epistles." 1 and 2Timothy, and Titus. Here is the deal. You won't agree with certain elements taught through this letter. You are not being asked to and are certainly not required to. BUT…B) Keep in mind that any church (and every church) that tells you that the requirements of being a bishop (or an overseer) are the combination of these epistles are wrong. These letters were written in two different situations, with two different backgrounds. The combination of these qualifications doesn't pass the smell test. Sorry. C) Fables and endless genealogies. But where you come from matters. OK, but you were born of God and not the will of man, so your human background is not relevant, like your divinity background. Prince Albert in a can. D) Love from a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith. That's the goal that Paul spells out. How do we know if people have ventured off the path? Because what they say is idle or worthless, with no life attached. God is a God of life. His teachers need to be too.
