The David Spoon Experience roles on without any preparation or notes because the brilliant David Spoon forgot his bag at home. But the Lord was merciful to the crowd and to the host. The subjects had to do with understanding that only the word of God endures for all eternity; unity brings about the outpouring of the presence of the Lord; And Jesus is not just a man; He is God, And finally, there's only one way into Heaven, and that's through Jesus Christ.

1) Having the commandments of God is exceedingly important. But not if we don’t KEEP the very commandments that we have. In better words, having apple pie with ice cream is fantastic. But eating apple pie with ice cream is the best. In our case, if we keep the commandments (all three as Jesus defined them), then a miraculous door opens. Jesus manifests Himself to those who keep His commandments. 2) The world has patterns. They have philosophies that go back to the days of the Garden. Eat the fruit because it looks good, and then become like a god. This was the first temptation. And humanity is STILL failing this exact moment over and over again, including you and me. 3) Need milk? Sometimes. Need help? All the time. If the Lord offered us help on a regular basis, would we be inclined to accept His help? That is an interesting question since He does make that offer, and we often don’t avail ourselves of this help. I wonder why that is? Maybe we don’t know better. Perhaps we don’t feel worthy. And maybe we are not too bright.

1) The demons in the men sought permission to exit and enter the pigs. Some people may think that this is connected to the Jews and Gentiles. Wrong. They were the nearest living entity for the demons to transfer into. So yes, demons can possess animals. But it doesn’t go well for them because animals are not prone to sin. 2) When people who don’t know or believe in angels or demons see angelic or demonic activity, they hit the road. They fled…think of Abbott and Costello meet the Mummy. 3) The people who saw what happened couldn’t deny it. But their response was all too familiar. The people of the town came out to verify the story. They did. And then they begged Jesus to leave. The supernatural freaks people out to the point of asking God to hit the road.

1) Let’s have some Christmas joy. God is NOT angry that we have a day we have chosen to celebrate His greatness. For those who do not understand this, I encourage you to read the book of Esther. The people selected a day of celebration, and God did not command the day. Esther 9:20-21 states Mordecai recorded these events, and he sent letters to all the Jews throughout the provinces of King Xerxes, near and far, 21 to have them celebrate annually the fourteenth and fifteenth days of the month of Adar. God didn’t mind. He included it in His book. 2) Some important quick notes: We love Mary. This message will show respect and appreciation for our sister in the Lord. But she is not, nor will ever be, God. In reality, Mary and Joseph were the most incredible power couple ever. She is, however, underappreciated. She is the FIRST person to accept that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior. 3) We review five different golden characteristics that Mary shows. They start before the church is birthed. They continue after the ascension of Jesus Christ. The great thing about Mary is this: she went through so many ups and downs and ups, but through them all, she stood firm with her convictions about who Jesus was. She was the ultimate Jewish mother. Her kid was God, and he did no wrong. Literally.

1) Demon possessed: It is essential to understand this distinction; just like in the gifts, there are also distinctions. 1 Corinthians 14:7 states, even things without life, whether flute or harp, when they make a sound unless they make a distinction in the sounds, how will it be known what is piped or played? And differences in demonic possessions are imperative. This was a possession. But in Greek, there is also an application regarding influence, control and impact. 2) Say whatever you want. Let the Satan worshippers say whatever they want. The reality is that the enemy and his minions know that their end is coming.

1) I do not have a goal: Wow…just because Job is bumming and not humming does not mean what he says is wrong. In truth, this passage in Job 6:11 should become an anthem for those of us living on this terrestrial plane. We need a goal, a target, and a vision. Without a vision, the people perish (Proverbs 29:18). 2) Kind to a fainting friend: Regardless that these friends were unaware that this whole situation had nothing to do with Job doing something wrong, you don’t kick a person when they are down. There should be kindness (fruit of the Spirit) for those troubled, wounded, and in pain. That does not mean supporting wrongdoing. It means supporting the person. 3) Next, Job expresses his personal disappointment in the quality of his friends. They are like a thirsty group, finding no water. This is similar to hopes being dashed. The Bible says Hope deferred makes the heart sick. That is true for our situations with people and our faithless attitudes toward God too. But the rest of the verse? When hope comes, it’s as the tree of life. Yeah!

A) The Chief Sheppard: Let’s start with the basics. There is One superstar in heaven, and His name is Jesus Christ. Every other leader, regardless of religious affiliation, is (at best) a sub shepherd. B) A crown. We don’t deserve one, but God is gracious and a giver. And He is going to give us a crown. Every crown on earth lasts for a few days, weeks, months, or years. But our crown will last forever. You may not be thrilled with hats, but you may be wearing one for a long time. (: C) Young men. The reason is pretty straightforward. Younger people think they are invincible. And then they grow up. So, to help them out, God instructs them to start the submission process now. D) The importance of humility cannot be stressed enough. That is why Peter moves this from young men to EVERYONE. Why? Because God HATES (that’s right, God hates, about 10 times) the proud.

1) Recharging batteries gives them the ability to do the things they were designed to do before they ran out of energy. Do this sound familiar? It should. This describes about 96% of us in our Christian walk. It’s not that we are awful people all the time. That’s the wrong mindset. When we are low, we want refreshments from the Lord to bring us back online. Here is a secret: Humbling ourselves before the Lord and seeking Him clears out all the surface and hidden dirt. This is an EXCELLENT approach to finding the re-energization we are looking for. 2) The WIG Formula. Noelle and I discovered this in a moment of clarity. We are not likely to be the first ones, but it was revelatory for the two of us. It’s not complex. It applies to EVERY aspect of life, even politics. WIG. What If God…

A) Where there is forgiveness: The continual action thereof. This is the place where we get to take a breath. We don’t offer any new offerings for the foolishness we can still fall into. Instead, we point back to the place where forgiveness was granted to cover our entire life journey. We point back to Jesus, smile, and say thank you. We are forgiven. B) Hey, family, guess what? As kids of the King, we enter the throne boldly. That is not arrogance. That is the confidence that our King will give us a “thumbs up” when we enter. What was restricted to one person alone (among our family members) is now open to all of us (at any time) because of Jesus.|C) Through the blood: You could not clarify this, no matter your theological background. It is through the BLOOD OF JESUS! Period.

1) News travels fast. Good news travels very fast. Bad news travels even faster. The Jewish people heard about what happened with Peter. They were freaking out. Keep in mind that they didn’t have the same experience that Peter had and didn’t receive any revelations from God. So, on the surface, they were …like…. “What is going on around here.” These people were still reeling from the power of the Holy Spirit and the whole tongues scenario, but this would take it to the next level. 2) You entered a Gentile’s home. You ate with them. Wait until they hear that God had poured out His Holy Spirit on the Gentiles in the same fashion as He did to the Jews. That was going to twist their theology into multiple pieces. So here’s a thought: Is it OK if God still bends our theology? I mean, we are all seasoned in His Word, and we pretty much know everything. At least, we act like we do. But if God wants to change our thinking, how stuck are we? It’s worth examining. 3) Peter can only do what he can do. In other words, Peter had to tell them what happened without making it fit into his theological box. So he just shared what happened without trying to justify it. The funny thing is people marveled at God when the guy who had the demons shared what Jesus had done for him. So that’s how it works. I even told my mom about a few experiences with little to no theology. She was amazed. She knew I was telling her the truth. So, it has its own witness. That is how powerful God is.

A) Affliction and comfort go hand in hand. But their purposes are beyond the idea that God is toying with us in a petri dish. We encounter so we can help others engage. How? Because through the process, we become more like Jesus. B) It accomplisjes patient endurance. Many teachers say, “don’t ask God for patience because He will give it to you, which in and of itself is absurd. But, we should WANT anything that makes us more like Jesus. And Two, God does not grant every request. How do I know? Ask Him for a trillion dollars. C) The hardships we encounter. But everything should be roses and cotton candy now that I love Jesus. Not even close. The reality of the kingdom of God is that the Lord directs us into scenarios that are FAR beyond our capacity to endure. D) Why? Because that way, we know that it is only a miracle that can deliver, heal, save, redirect, or provide for us. All of this is for a single purpose: that we trust in God and not in ourselves.

1) This is the time of year that we get to reflect on the wonderfulness of the incarnation of Jesus Christ. But, of course, we should be reflecting on the incarnation of Jesus on a regular basis. But even more so important is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Why? Because it proves that everything that Jesus said is true. And without the resurrection, there is nothing to look forward to. So, no, Christian existentialism is not real or true. The core of our faith is the resurrection. 2) That being said, the time for Christian fuddy-duddies is far over. But Dave, there is so much commercialism in Christmas. So what? You don’t have t walk your Christmas the way the world walks theirs. I mean, seriously, they don’t even believe in Jesus. How can I say that? Because they bounce around with the psycho-babble says like, it’s all about feeling good, or it’s all about the magic, or even it’s all about the family. No, it isn’t. It’s all about God reconciling with sinful humanity. 3) But buying gifts for people, having gatherings, and YES, even a Christmas tree is not offensive to God any more than when you and I say “Thursday,” which is named after the God Thor. So could you give it a rest, Mr. and Mrs. Scrooge? If you don’t want to have fun, then don’t be a jerk toward everyone else. I’m pretty sure that’s not Christlike. And no, Santa is not an offshoot of Satan any more than Dog is an offshoot of God.
