1) News travels fast. Good news travels very fast. Bad news travels even faster. The Jewish people heard about what happened with Peter. They were freaking out. Keep in mind that they didn’t have the same experience that Peter had and didn’t receive any revelations from God. So, on the surface, they were …like…. “What is going on around here.” These people were still reeling from the power of the Holy Spirit and the whole tongues scenario, but this would take it to the next level. 2) You entered a Gentile’s home. You ate with them. Wait until they hear that God had poured out His Holy Spirit on the Gentiles in the same fashion as He did to the Jews. That was going to twist their theology into multiple pieces. So here’s a thought: Is it OK if God still bends our theology? I mean, we are all seasoned in His Word, and we pretty much know everything. At least, we act like we do. But if God wants to change our thinking, how stuck are we? It’s worth examining. 3) Peter can only do what he can do. In other words, Peter had to tell them what happened without making it fit into his theological box. So he just shared what happened without trying to justify it. The funny thing is people marveled at God when the guy who had the demons shared what Jesus had done for him. So that’s how it works. I even told my mom about a few experiences with little to no theology. She was amazed. She knew I was telling her the truth. So, it has its own witness. That is how powerful God is.

A) Affliction and comfort go hand in hand. But their purposes are beyond the idea that God is toying with us in a petri dish. We encounter so we can help others engage. How? Because through the process, we become more like Jesus. B) It accomplisjes patient endurance. Many teachers say, “don’t ask God for patience because He will give it to you, which in and of itself is absurd. But, we should WANT anything that makes us more like Jesus. And Two, God does not grant every request. How do I know? Ask Him for a trillion dollars. C) The hardships we encounter. But everything should be roses and cotton candy now that I love Jesus. Not even close. The reality of the kingdom of God is that the Lord directs us into scenarios that are FAR beyond our capacity to endure. D) Why? Because that way, we know that it is only a miracle that can deliver, heal, save, redirect, or provide for us. All of this is for a single purpose: that we trust in God and not in ourselves.

1) This is the time of year that we get to reflect on the wonderfulness of the incarnation of Jesus Christ. But, of course, we should be reflecting on the incarnation of Jesus on a regular basis. But even more so important is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Why? Because it proves that everything that Jesus said is true. And without the resurrection, there is nothing to look forward to. So, no, Christian existentialism is not real or true. The core of our faith is the resurrection. 2) That being said, the time for Christian fuddy-duddies is far over. But Dave, there is so much commercialism in Christmas. So what? You don’t have t walk your Christmas the way the world walks theirs. I mean, seriously, they don’t even believe in Jesus. How can I say that? Because they bounce around with the psycho-babble says like, it’s all about feeling good, or it’s all about the magic, or even it’s all about the family. No, it isn’t. It’s all about God reconciling with sinful humanity. 3) But buying gifts for people, having gatherings, and YES, even a Christmas tree is not offensive to God any more than when you and I say “Thursday,” which is named after the God Thor. So could you give it a rest, Mr. and Mrs. Scrooge? If you don’t want to have fun, then don’t be a jerk toward everyone else. I’m pretty sure that’s not Christlike. And no, Santa is not an offshoot of Satan any more than Dog is an offshoot of God.

A) I will sing, yes, I will sing. It’s not that all of us have the gift. Most of us don’t. But we all have breath. And that breath is supposed to praise the Lord. And here, praise means singing. So, yes, I know, “make a joyful noise to the Lord” is how most of us sing. But to God’s ears, your voice is like butter. B) Seek Me. This is not simply an extraordinary thought. It is the manifested will of God for our lives. And, no, not just to seek His ways. But the relationship calling cannot be any clearer: Seek MY face! The call is for us to pursue God with all that is within us.

1) Jesus had an incredible earthly ministry. Now, He has an incredible Heavenly ministry. He speaks to the Father on our behalf. So cool. Check our Romans 8:34 and Hebrews 7:25. The Holy Spirit is continuing the ministry of Jesus Christ here on earth. Guess what? The Holy Spirit lives in you and me. Therefore, we ought to be carrying out the ministry of Jesus until he returns. That’s what Jesus said. So, who or what is restraining us from fulfilling this ministry? Again, us. 2) Dear Abby…Just kidding. We need to remember the three Rs of the kingdom of God. The three Rs are not from Scooby Doo because Rutt Row is only two Rs. And the third R is not for pirates. It’s from the book Revelation.

First Time caller, Sean, called about what to do He called to talk about how to witness to his friend, who is an intellectual and wants evidence to believe. Dave commended him for desiring but told him that salvation is up to God. he can witness, but God had to do the saving. Dave also encourages Sean to get Evidence That Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell. And he also prays over him and his friend. And then the Spoon man shared a little bit about feeling uncomfortable and anxious and about receiving prayer from his wife, Noelle.

1) Hah, hah, hah. How funny. Do we really think that God is going to part the Red Sea just so that we can walk on dry ground? Hardy, har, har. Do we really think that God is going to bring a miracle into our situation? Hyuck, hyuck, hyuck. But He asks us, is anything too hard for the Lord? 3) Twisted leaders and twister communicators. Twisted influencers and twister teachers. And God knows each one of them. And USES them for His purposes. Let’s remember that before we freak out.

A) As He was coming into the world: That sounds so innocent. But Jesus didn’t just go into the world from a simple birth but from a partnership of the Divine and Human. This process alone shows the intent of God for us. He wants to be connected to us. But due to our rebellious nature, in order for this to happen, he had to take extraordinary actions on our behalf. B) To do thy will. This pushes the faith journey WAY PAST sacrifices and offerings. In truth, those sacrifices and offerings were always testimonies regarding the sacrifices and offerings that Jesus would make. But the key component is for us to understand that God has a will, a desire, a plan, a purpose, a work, a function, a happening that He wants YOU and Me to do, just like He had Jesus do. C) In the emergence of the “to do thy will” principle, He firmly establishes the New Covenant and removes the Old Covenant. The reason is that the New Covenant is here. The Old has finished its task, purpose, and time. Now it’s better.

1) Even as Peter was speaking: here is the first significant point to understand. God does not care nearly as much about procedures as you, and I do. You would think that the Lord would be kind enough to let Peter finish his sermon. After all, he is pouring out his heart and faith into these people. News Flash: God does not care nor wait when He wants to accomplish something. 2) Here is the second significant point to understand. While Peter is speaking, the Holy Spirit falls upon those listening. The Holy Spirit comes after the Gospel, in this case. In other cases, the Holy Spirit comes before the Gospel. Titus 3:10: He saved us by cleansing the new birth (spiritual transformation, regeneration) and renewing by the Holy Spirit (modified, amplified). And Psalm 10:17 says, “LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart.” 3) And the third point: The book of Acts is not sequential regarding how the Gospel comes to people. That’s up to God. Not our man-made order forms. In Acts 19, the disciples didn’t have the Holy Spirit until after they were baptized. Not during their salvation response. The Holy Spirit comes after the Gospel too. So, let’s stop the boxing-in for salvation. Oh yeah…the proof of the Holy Spirit was tongues after Acts 10 pouring out for the Gentiles. So, get over it. It’s up to God.

A) Blessed be God: That’s right, start the process at the height of wisdom. For all the things God has done, let’s say “blessed,” which means to praise Him or honor His name. The Hebrew word translated as “bless” in the Old Testament literally means to kneel, indicating the idea of honoring the Lord. We do not add anything to Him when we bless Him, yet we worship Him as our appropriate response to His greatness and His love for us. B) The Father of compassion. But Dave, wasn’t God different in the Old Testament? Only if you haven’t read it. God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. The difference is that because of Jesus, God lives inside of us, so the nature of the relationship is BETTER. For references, please read Hebrews. C) Who comforts us in ALL of our troubles. No, no…that’s just for the heavy-duty dramatic stuff. Psalm 56:8 states Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book (KJV)? Every tear, every moment, every pain is in His observations. He has missed nothing of any of our sorrows. D) Our comfort from Him, is for the comfort of others. Such is the circle of life.

1) First, Christian Kaos, part seven: A tale of two cities. A tale of three kings. A tale of four Jews. That’s the ticker, and here we go: Four Jewish Christians, all from the same city in Detroit, Michigan, all living in the same neighborhood, two of which were, and still are, best friends. All saying yes to Jesus within thirty days of each other. And all on fire for Jesus Christ. 2) Now, it was time for the Lord to begin rebuilding the broken Dave. This, of course, would take a significant amount of time. But one miracle at a time would bring me face-to-face with God’s truth. And the grand prize of God’s truth is that it sets you free. We become instantly free and free over time as well. The first thing would be to determine “the where” God wanted me. Fortuitous was the method of travel. All of this was a part of His plan. Especially, the first significant miracle that manifested the faithfulness of God. 3) After the miraculous moment in Gunnison, I decided to push on to Georgetown, Colorado. Billy visited me after a few weeks, and his car took a nosedive. The mechanic let me drive his car into Denver to pick up the parts. Do you know how they say that your life will flash before your eyes just before you die? Not so for this Jewish fellow. I spoke in third tongues. And then, after skiing at Keystone…on the same run, I was on, just a week later, the chairlift snapped (2 dead, 49 injured). I figured out that God had two chances to kill me. But He didn’t use either one. There was more to do for the kingdom.
