A) If we ask anything according to will. So, let’s be honest. Not every prayer is according to His will. The truth is that we ask too much that is NOT part of His will. James 4:3 states, You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. B) He hears us. If God hears us and says yes, then the answer is Yes, even if that request is for Him to stop the universe in its tracks, just like Joshua did. If we know He hears us, we know…We Got It…because We Get It! C) A sin not leading to death. What the heck is that? We examine the three main interpretations that have been applied to this text. I won’t tell you which one you should lean towards, but it’s sufficient to say it’s 2 or 3, not the first one. D) The sneaky part of this text is whether it is spiritual or physical death. But what sin can we commit that does lead to death? Repented sin. Unrepented sin leads to death, destruction, and decay. Quick confession to life. Psalm 32/51.

1) What could the vision mean? While Peter was not likely as intellectual as Paul or Luke, he was no dummy. His confessions, his faith, and his ministry were intense. But he wasn’t sure what the vision meant. He saw it, but he had to think about it. Has this ever happened to you? It sure has happened to me. Whether it was a dream, a picture in my mind, or a thought that was higher than mine, I’ve had to contemplate the ramifications of the communications of God. 2) Of course, timing is EVERYTHING. At the same time, Peter has a vision being manifested; he has visitors. There is a schedule from God. And He is never late. I know that we all believe that God is good at setting situations up, but do we REALLY understand how Divine, miraculous, and phenomenal it all is? Exodus 12:40-41, from the arrival of Jacob: Now the length of time the Israelite people lived in Egypt was 430 years. At the end of the 430 years, to the very day, all the Lord’s divisions left Egypt. 3) There are four marvelous instructions from the Holy Spirit to Peter. Catch this: The instructions show the situation, the direction, the attitude, and the authority. If we look closely enough at our own situations, we will find many such pearls of wisdom tucked inside each moment.

1) First, Christian Kaos, part six: A tale of two cities. A tale of three kings. A tale of four Jews. That’s the ticker, and here we go: Four Jewish Christians, all from the same city in Detroit, Michigan, all living in the same neighborhood, two of which were, and still are, best friends. All saying yes to Jesus within thirty days of each other. And all on fire for Jesus Christ. After that, we were known as The Four Musketeers. 2) From the last sharing, I escaped in the middle of the night by telling no one in the church that I was leaving. Then, catching the red eye, we landed in Southern California to re-ignite my relationship with my brother. After a toss-and-turn night, Billy drove me to a pier leading out to the ocean. I could feel the sun’s warmth and the sea’s wind. And I felt a long-lost feeling: Freedom. 3) Now, it was time for the Lord to begin rebuilding the broken Dave. This, of course, would take a significant amount of time. But one miracle at a time would bring me face-to-face with God’s truth. And the grand prize of God’s truth is that it sets you free. We become instantly free and free over time as well. The first thing would be to determine “the where” God wanted me. Fortuitous was the method of travel. All of this was a part of His plan. Especially the first significant miracle that manifested the faithfulness of God.

A) Remember, Don’t Remember, and Remember. Tender mercies are mercies that are softly applied. Lovingkindness is kindness that is lovingly applied. B) Don’t remember. The sins of our youth. The transgressions of our present. The irony may be that the person that needs to forget is more likely us than God. God is omniscient. He knows every all there is. So it’s more likely that David pleads for a clean slate, which God grants each of us. C) He teaches sinners in the way. What does that mean? Since sinners are people who lose their way, it’s a play on words that God helps us find our way. D) Sinners who become humble get to participate with God. To those of us who keep His words and His testimonies. That means we need to remember what he has done for us. Personally!

1) Most people know that Heart Disease is a silent killer. But more people are unaware of heart disease, the second type. It’s the heart disease of the heart, between God and a person. It has to do with not liking the end results of God’s touch in our lives. Like the early lame people that Jesus healed. If you remember, Issac Air Freight, and Jerusalem Dragnet, were about the lame filing a complaint with the police because Jesus put them out of the begging union. Get it? 2) We examine the first miracle from Jesus. This was not a “wow…I’m bored…I think it’s time to do some miracles to make life more entertaining” miracle. Everything that God does and that He allows has a purpose. Think of life as a symphony. Each situation is a note of sound, and God is the conductor. He writes the entire score with purpose. He arranges the musical notes with purpose. He changes the water for a purpose too.

1) Jesus was amazed: Why? Because one person amongst them all understood the principle of AUTHORITY! 2) Here is the key: Faith is connected to their understanding of authority. That is why we pray in Jesus’ name. Because we approach the throne in His authority, not because it is a magical incantation, it’s because we obey Jesus, who said, “ask in my name,” and it is as simple as that. 3) The sons of the kingdom: Let’s drop the fake spiritual redirect. Jesus made it plain that people would be full of it and thrown into the darkness. So let’s see...who is He talking about? The fake righteous…or the real? 4) As you have believed: How can we miss this principle?

A) Here is a massively important moment in scripture. Peter makes us aware, through the Holy Spirit, that we are stewards. A steward is a custodian and a supervisor. This means that each one of us is in some form of leadership. We hold responsibility for God and unto God. This is true regarding the Gospel. And this is true relating to the gift that GOD has deposited in each one of us. B) The manifold grace of God. The many-sided graces of God. This is the same relation to its diversity as the manifold wisdom of God. It has many sides, angles, viewpoints, inputs, and applications. Grace is positional, practical, and situational.
C) Yes. You have a gift. I think it is scripturally thin to say we all have at least one gift. We have one gift that may be most unique for us personally, but we likely have multiple gifts for the purposes of grace. By the way, a gift is not a skill.
D) What is the gifting for? The service of others. Gifts are not a trophy or a toy. They are tools of God’s grace and blessings.

1) The key to following the Jobinian adventure is understanding these four things. 1) Job was clueless. 2) Job did not curse God. 3) Job failed to justify God, but he justified himself. And 4) The trials of chapters one and two are OVER at the beginning of chapter three. The contest had come to a close. 2) “What I have feared has come upon me.” This did not come to Job because he thought about it or because he confessed it. It’s just not correct teaching. This came about at a cosmic conflict beyond Job being the source of the origin. But it did involve his participation. Just like it does for you and me. 3) Eliphaz replies to Job. There does come the time for words. And, of course, our words should speak life, not death. But let’s be clear. When Jesus spoke, He didn’t just speak theology. He expressed love, caring, and compassion. Being theologically correct in a lousy life moment is not a win for anyone and anything but our own pride. Ouch.
