How do we overcome the world and the world system? By our faith. As children of the highest God, we are connected to the King. And through our faith in Him, there is NOTHING that we cannot overcome in this age. And Dave talks a little bit about all of us trying to "break the rules" through the kingdom of God.

The David Spoon Experience 10-20-22 Part 2

Shorty calls in with a phenomenal poem, actually two poems, and an incredible testimony of faith. 1) There are those people. You may be one of them. I hope you are. They are always thinking about others. They are always trying to do for others. They are genuinely interested in the welfare of others. When these people die, it’s a real bummer. That is the kind of person that Tabitha was, from Joppa. Tabitha means gazelle or gracious. 2) Her friends were preparing for her funeral. How sad. But then, one or more of them had an idea. Peter, the mighty Apostle and companion of Jesus Christ, was close by. Even though Tabitha (also called Dorcas) was dead, they decided to seek Peter out. Tabitha wasn’t sick. She was dead. She was laid in an upper room waiting for her dirt nap. Somewhere between death and burial is a moment. Even in our situations, between death and burial is a moment. And because of Jesus, there is still a moment after burial too. 3) Peter came, cleared the room, commanded, assisted, and presented her alive to the widows and the believers. Faith increased, word spread, and Jesus was glorified. Not too shabby. Just another day …working in the Kingdom.

1) First, Christian Kaos, part five: A tale of two cities. A tale of three kings. A tale of four Jews. That’s the ticker, and here we go: Four Jewish Christians, all from the same city in Detroit, Michigan, all living in the same neighborhood, two of which were, and still are, best friends. All saying yes to Jesus within thirty days of each other. And all on fire for Jesus ChristAfter that, we were known as The Four Musketeers. 2) But as God beat the Saul out of david before he became king, God was beating the Ken out of me before I would reach more people. So I made a gigantic attempt to depart, but my initial efforts were thwarted. I was not as wise as Jacob when he took off from Laban. But I had earned manipulation from three masters; my grandma, mom, and Ken. And it was time to put the Jewish mindset to work. 3) I returned to the church after a failed escape. But unfortunately, I did not operate with the same wisdom that Jacob did when he left Laban. Because of that lacking, I was pulled back in, but with a new sense of energy and commitment. The next time, I would follow Jacob to a tee. Using surprise was his wisdom. And he only informed those who needed to know. But he wasn’t going to tell Laban. But he would still have to wrestle with God.

A) Mama earth. What a joke. The planet is not a mommy to anyone. And Mother Nature is good for a Parkay commercial, not the truth. And when Narcy Pelosi said the earth was upset because of global warming, she was uttering demonic rubbish. The earth has been sick since the Garden of Eden, awaiting Christ’s full redemption. It’s sin, not pollution. B) BTW: In the Old and New Testament, it makes clear that we look for a NEW heaven and a NEW earth, not a recycled old earth. C) Everything on the earth, including people, are “technically” God’s property. D) Clean hands and a pure heart: This phrase is then defined as 1) Not lifting their soul to an idol and 2) not swearing deceitfully. Ouch.

The David Spoon Experience 10-18-22 Part 2

1) The community often assembles a search party when someone is missing. hey usually walk in a formation of a straight line, one person next to the other, so that there is nothing that is missed. That is the same idea in the passage in Chronicles. The Lord is operating in a continual search party mode for people who are responsive to Him. Remember in Isaiah, when the Lord asks, “Whom shall I send?” he knows whom he will send. But do we know if We are willing to go? And to this verse, are we ready to be FULLY committed to Him? 2) There is a mistake in our engagement with God that we would be wise to correct. Unfortunately, some teachers in the church believe that we should never need to repent. They are wrong. And hopefully, they, too, will repent for lousy teaching. Not evil teaching, just bad teaching. Jesus told Peter, late in the game, that he would need to repent. It’s a part of the walk. Don’t get milk; get humble. 3) Rarely do I do a full DDD that significantly involves politics. I’m not too fond of politics. But what I despise more is when politicians demonically enter the spiritual realm. That is not their place. Calvary is the hill we die on. Political leaders may be corrupt, but it becomes blasphemy when they dictate their fleshly insights upon God’s truths. That is not acceptable.

1) Jesus demonstrates that He is willing. He touches the leper, which is against the Law. Jesus is teaching by saying AND by doing. The Law had a purpose. The purpose was to lead us to the Messiah. The Messiah arrived. It was time for the Messiah to take His rightful place in people’s hearts and minds. 2) Galatians 3:24 states, Therefore the Law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. Now our faith in Jesus makes us right with God. Instead of fighting this, after receiving this, we should enjoy this. 3) Don’t tell anyone: Why? Because there is a Divine time and place for every single share and testimony. Following the commands of Jesus is more important than testimony, even if the command is to be quiet. 4) Jesus wanted this first testimony to be to the priests. They couldn’t deny that this man was a leper. With the reduced hype of all the people around, they would have to respond to the manifest power of God.

The David Spoon Experience 10-17-22 Part 2

This 60-minutes is all about 1) This is the problem. Instead of recognizing that the Lord is WORTHY of praise, people want to know what God can do for them. In better words, “Hey God, what have you done for me lately?” besides the truth that God let each one of us live long even to have a first memory, is the reality that every good and perfect gift is from above. So says James 1:17. So anything and everything good in anyone and everyone’s life is a GIFT from God. 2) Satan then makes a false statement. He says, “Take away his health, and he will curse You to Your face.” Not always. Some people don’t think that way. Unfortunately, too many Christians do get bitter in the end. But why did God say, “Do whatever, but spare his life…?” Because if Job died, the contest would be over. So for the best result, God allowed Job to walk through the valley of the shadow of death, but not to die. It is assigned for man once to die (Hebrews 9:27). His assignment time did not come up yet. 3) His wife said: the unspoken and unexamined partaker of this contest. So she lost everything Job did, including the children. Her response was to curse God and die. So, ironically, Satan was correct regarding her spirit. And he could be right of many others. But not to Job. God knew Job. God won.

The David Spoon Experience 10-17-22 Part 1

This 30-minutes is all about A) Symbolizes: I’m not sure how this isn’t the key to the arguments on baptism, but I would never make this a fellowship issue. It’s not removing the dirt from the flesh, which means it’s not the water part. It’s the pledge of conscience. An inward work that is reflected by an outward action. B) Just so we can be on the same page, without the resurrection, there is nada. Nothing. Existential Christian living is a lie. Paul said, through the Holy Spirit, we are to be pitied if we think this way.
