The David Spoon Experience 10-18-22 Part 2

1) The community often assembles a search party when someone is missing. hey usually walk in a formation of a straight line, one person next to the other, so that there is nothing that is missed. That is the same idea in the passage in Chronicles. The Lord is operating in a continual search party mode for people who are responsive to Him. Remember in Isaiah, when the Lord asks, “Whom shall I send?” he knows whom he will send. But do we know if We are willing to go? And to this verse, are we ready to be FULLY committed to Him? 2) There is a mistake in our engagement with God that we would be wise to correct. Unfortunately, some teachers in the church believe that we should never need to repent. They are wrong. And hopefully, they, too, will repent for lousy teaching. Not evil teaching, just bad teaching. Jesus told Peter, late in the game, that he would need to repent. It’s a part of the walk. Don’t get milk; get humble. 3) Rarely do I do a full DDD that significantly involves politics. I’m not too fond of politics. But what I despise more is when politicians demonically enter the spiritual realm. That is not their place. Calvary is the hill we die on. Political leaders may be corrupt, but it becomes blasphemy when they dictate their fleshly insights upon God’s truths. That is not acceptable.

This 60-minutes is all about 1) This is the problem. Instead of recognizing that the Lord is WORTHY of praise, people want to know what God can do for them. In better words, “Hey God, what have you done for me lately?” besides the truth that God let each one of us live long even to have a first memory, is the reality that every good and perfect gift is from above. So says James 1:17. So anything and everything good in anyone and everyone’s life is a GIFT from God. 2) Satan then makes a false statement. He says, “Take away his health, and he will curse You to Your face.” Not always. Some people don’t think that way. Unfortunately, too many Christians do get bitter in the end. But why did God say, “Do whatever, but spare his life…?” Because if Job died, the contest would be over. So for the best result, God allowed Job to walk through the valley of the shadow of death, but not to die. It is assigned for man once to die (Hebrews 9:27). His assignment time did not come up yet. 3) His wife said: the unspoken and unexamined partaker of this contest. So she lost everything Job did, including the children. Her response was to curse God and die. So, ironically, Satan was correct regarding her spirit. And he could be right of many others. But not to Job. God knew Job. God won.

This 30-minutes is all about A) Symbolizes: I’m not sure how this isn’t the key to the arguments on baptism, but I would never make this a fellowship issue. It’s not removing the dirt from the flesh, which means it’s not the water part. It’s the pledge of conscience. An inward work that is reflected by an outward action. B) Just so we can be on the same page, without the resurrection, there is nada. Nothing. Existential Christian living is a lie. Paul said, through the Holy Spirit, we are to be pitied if we think this way.

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) There is a disease in our country and our world. I have confidence that almost everyone hearing my voice will remember the tv and radio campaign with Andre Agassi. There was a mass marketing campaign that stated, “Image is everything.” Unfortunately, it was wildly successful. It wasn’t that this was brilliant marketing. It was that this message tapped into a truth about the world and the worldly. The way we present is the way we are. Not. In reality, the presentation of many is as phony as a three-dollar bill. 2) Why does a Chrisitan’s life need to be portrayed as something different than it is? Yes, we want to and need to reflect Jesus as we walk in fellowship with God. Yes, we need the fruit of the Holy Spirit to shine. But no, we don’t need to be fake about the positional place or the practical place we are in…in Christ. We are perfect through Jesus. We are being made perfect by the Holy Spirit. And we operate in forgiveness, not perfection, during the process. 3) Now, here is a glorious truth. We are created, designed, conceived (which, BTW, means alive), and birthed by the grace of God. No person “deserves” to come to life. That is impossible. Remember, there is nothing we can do in a pre-convived state to entitle us to life. We don’t deserve our life. But we joyfully receive it, and God doesn’t make junk.

This 30-minutes is all about: A) Goodness: Here is our friend, number one. Where ever we go and whatever we do, we want “goodness” to be our traveling companion. It’s fantastic to know and believe that good is coming with us. God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good. B) If we walk this journey without mercy, then we walk this journey on eggshells. On we walking on eggshells with God? Let’s stop insulting Him. He is not a tyrant but a king and gracious daddy. Let’s walk on the sunshine because that feels good. C) I will dwell means that I will abide, live, hang out, exist, and be at home. The Lord’s house. Is that church? A little bit. But it’s mostly the heavenly home of God. Why? Because we will be there forever. Only boring churches make it seem like w era e at church forever. That’s a joke.

1) Have you ever thought that some Christians could be troublemakers? Well, then can. Today, we review a subtle tongue-in-cheek moment in the Book of Acts after the great human destroyer becomes the great human builder. After Saul’s conversation, his preaching, his arrival in Jerusalem, and his additional preaching, God gives the church a break. How? He directs Saul back to Tarsus. And the church had a nice siesta. But, of course, this applies to our turmoil. After a while, it will be chill down time. 1 Peter 5:10 states, In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation. 2) What often happens during a time of peace? Building stuff, personally, professionally, and spiritually. When peace came to the church, it grew in different directions and ways after some extremely turbulent times. How? Because God is the REAL Gardener.

This 30-minutes is all about: A) Everyone who believes: Who believes what? That believe the same about eschatology? No. That believe the same about baptism? No. That believe the same about spiritual gifts? No. That Jesus is the Christ. B) Here is another way to check ourselves to ensure we are following Jesus. We love God, which is number one. And we obey His commandments, which is number two. C) Here is (another, another) proof that we can verify that we love God; we keep His commandments. But the pickle is, what are these commandments? We know that the commandments we recapped by Jesus (God, neighbor) D) But Jesus dropped the third one in John 15:13 > This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.
