David Spoon Experience Part 2 10-04-2022

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) Look at me. I am so beautiful. Have you ever seen one of these people in the celebrity realm? They are so obnoxious. They think that they are the reason that the sun rises and sets. They believe that everyone is watching them. And they think they are so good at what they do that other people should be quiet and appreciate their work. How disgusting is this? We call them fake. The most fantastic truth is that this philosophy didn’t come from Hollywood. It came from the religious community. 2) Nobody is going to like me after this DDD. The reason is simple. God allows leaders to make stupid, stupid, stupid decisions for His purposes. But, before you drop a brick on me, consider this; Is God in control? Not just of your life and mine (despite our rebellion), but is He in control? Yes or no? The answer determines whether or not we understand that God is at work, in the governments, and even in a fallen world. If not, how could He foretell about the anti-Christ?

The David Spoon Experience 10-3-22 Part 2

These 60-minutes are all about: 1) Job stood up, and Job fell to the ground. This is not too hard to picture. Job heard the news, and before he spoke, he acted. First, he tore his robe to symbolize someone or someone so close to him that was actually touching him was ruined. Then, he went further to demonstrate (still before he spoke ) his grief and shaved his head as a sign of mourning. His hair was not as distant as his clothing because of the hair was physically connected to him. Then, before He spoke a word, he HUMBLED himself before God. He didn’t give God the finger. 2) Naked in and naked out. Paul refers to this in the New Testament when he writes to Timothy and says, “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.” He is where entitlement bites the dust. We brought nothing of our own in. Therefore, we are entitled to nothing. By proof, we will carry nothing out. Consequently, we are entitled to bupkiss. 3) The Lord gave, and the Lord took. Even if Satan took it, the Lord allowed it. In truth, Satan is just an instrument of God’s ultimate plan. We might not want to think that God takes, but He does, And there are about 500 scriptures that prove this. Everything is His to do with as He sees fit. Whether we like it or not. If not for sin, nothing would have been taken, so whose fault is it…really?

But, according to the kingdom of God, we are blessed and become unshakable through the enduring of being wronged. D) Set apart Jesus in your hearts (higher than everything else) and be ready to defend why you are a Christian.

The David Spoon Experience 9-26-22 Part 2

These 60-minutes are all about: 1) Job had experienced a pretty solid level of protection up to this time. The move against him is the enemy’s unleashing of financial disaster. There is only one messenger, meaning there is no way to verify the information. The animals get stolen, and all the servants attached to this business adventure are annihilated. This happens simultaneously when Job’s kids are having one of their “too far gone for too long” parties. 2) The second messenger comes towards the end of the first speech. This time the news is progressively worse. How so? Because the person says, “it’s the fire of God,” specifically pointing to this disaster being because of God Himself. In this situation, the animals and the people are all torched. And the messenger, not knowing what is going on, shares that the fire has fallen from Heaven. But only God can do that? Right? Nope. 3) Now, a third messenger comes. And we thought that we have had bad days. The raiding party steals the camels (which were considered to have a higher value) and then kills all the people. It sure seems like working for Job this day is a bad idea. The farmers, the shepherds, and the servants have all died. But the worst is still on the way. Past having the basics, the appearance of divine judgment, and the loss of luxuries, the kids are the fourth devastation. And their death is by the wind, on all four sides at once, which is not normal. So, it fashions itself like the hand of God again. But, it is not what it appears to be.

These 30-minutes are all about: A) Turn away from evil. That does not mean you don’t ever talk to people. 1 Corinthians 5 states, I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people—not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case, you would have to leave this world B) The eyes and ears of God are for His kids. His whole face is against the defiant.

The David Spoon Experience 9-22-22 Part 2

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) After all this stuff, Saul is being transformed. He is in Damascus after his contact with Ananias. And he is going to stick around for a while. So, he has to stay with some other believers. How would you like to be the host family for a guy that had people like yourself executed or thrown in jail? It’s only a few days, but imagine being those people. 2) Different people respond to the Christian experience differently. Some people, like myself, after the initial surrender, do nothing special. Some people, after some time, still do nothing special. And then there are the people like Saul, who get zapped, electrified, touched, and turn into a fiery preaching machine. So it’s different for everyone for one simple theological reason; everyone is different. 3) Everybody that heard about this was amazed. They were blown away that Saul, who was persecuting their faith, was now promoting that same faith. He became a hero to believers and a deplorable to the deceivers and unbelievers. Saul joined God’s army, discovering he was more hated than ever before. Gee…now where have I heard this before?

The David Spoon Experience 9-22-22 Part 1

This 30-minutes is all about: A) Here is yet another scripture that connects confession and faith. Keep in mind that Paul made this connection in Romans when he said; and with the mouth, one confesses and is saved. So, yes, faith and speech are connected. B) To know and to believe. We know Him, and we know His love. And along with this, we believe (and accept) that His love is real. Here, the word to know is to recognize (ginóskó). We recognize and believe because of revelation. C) We must “live” in love to be like Him. We need to grow in this love. In this power of love, we reflect Jesus the best.
