The David Spoon Experience Part 2 9-13-22
Monday Sep 12, 2022
Monday Sep 12, 2022
This 60-minutes is all about:1) Satan replied: Hey…guess what? Satan talks. He spoke in the Garden. He spoke to God in this unique exchange. And when he talks, he introduces challenges, lies, doubts, and temptation. He accuses God (so how much more you and me) of playing favorites with Job and then challenges God to strip Job of his bubble. Yes, the is a hedge of protection (him, his home, and his property) around believers. If Satan had his unrestrained way, we would all be dead. Or worse. 2) You have made him prosperous in everything. It’s a dare, a bet, a challenge. And the enemy asks (because he has to) to strip Job to the bottom of the bottom. God allowed Job to accumulate over time, not in an instant. And his prosperity extended well beyond riches. Unfortunately, we are often trained to be blind to see actual value. The enemy asks for a change in Job’s situation because that will produce a cursing and hatred for God. How about this for a personal lesson? 3) God has to give permission and parameters for the contest. Of course, we call it a trial, a testing, and other spiritual phrases. But in this case, and likely in some of our own, there is a cosmic contest going on. Open our eyes, Lord.

Monday Sep 12, 2022
Dave spends the first half hour talking about the words of our mouths. That's right. Our words matter. So, he confesses that his words weren't brilliant this last weekend. The 1Peter 3:10 states "For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech." Do we love our life with the Lord and want to see good days? The mouth is involved.

A tribute to 9-11 at the end of the show: 1) Frequently, we find ourselves in a place where when we believe we need to respond to a situation, a comment, a question, or other things and people. But following Jesus’ example, we can quickly see that God does not require our “reaction.” If asked about our faith or joy, we need to be ready to share Who lives in us and why we have such happiness or confidence. But when people are trying to get a response from us, we need to be more sensitive to the Lord. Responses are not required. 2) The old song goes, “You can’t beat God giving…no matter how…how hard you try.” So here is a brilliant key to living in great anticipation. The Lord knows how much you have given up and sacrificed to walk your journey in a manner that pleases Him. You and I have surrendered nothing that God has not seen. And the kicker is that you and I will never owe God anything because He ALWAYS outgives His people. That is true in this land and in the eternal one to come. 3) Sin. It is missing the mark. It is anything that is contrary to God. Anything. It is sin. The penalty for sin is death. Any sin. All sin. Every sin. Little or big. Only through Jesus is forgiveness, truth, love, grace, mercy, and kindness. Everything before the cross points towards Jesus, and everything after the cross points back to Jesus. Size doesn’t matter.

This 30-minutes is all about: A) Above all of this is the Mercy Seat. Wait…why is there a mercy seat about all the stuff past the second curtain? Because without the mercy of God, there is no chance for anyone anywhere. B) Once a year, the priest goes into the second room. This is to deal with the sins of the people. This was a foreshadowing of what Jesus was going to open up. This was God sharing the Gospel beforehand.

1) God speaks to Ananias. But Dave, God doesn’t speak to people. However, he does communicate with people often and in multiple ways. If you are not sure, just check your own life. But too often, we think it just thundered. But in this case, he gets downright detal-ish with Ananias. Praying now (present), showing a vision (past) so that he can (future); These are three different time strains in one discussion. God always was, always is, and always will be. 2) “But Lord.” That’s right, get over it. From the days of Adam through the New Testament, God has given instructions, and people have responded, “But Lord.” Just like you and me. By the way, Ananias isn’t wondering if this actually “is” God because God gave him all the necessary proof. “This is the guy, what he is doing, and what I have shown him. And you are the dude he is waiting for.” 3) Ananias informs (O.K., that is a joke) God that he has heard and hears things. Especially about this guy. This guy, God, in case You didn’t know, is against Your people. He has an ax to grind, and it’s against us who follow You. So here is God’s logical and practical advice to Ananias. Our advice is “Go…and do what I say.” And God’s people say…YES, LORD!
