The David Spoon Experience Part 2 9-2-22

1) The kingdom of God is where God is King. There is a “now” kingdom…where and when God’s will and desires are realized. And there is a “future” kingdom, where and when God’s will and desires will be realized. The kingdom is not a flesh-feeding program. It’s not food or drink. It’s advancements in the kingship of God. It’s based on the righteousness of Jesus Christ. It is manifested through the power of the Holy Spirit. We long for the future kingdom. But, we need to carry on in the present kingdom. 2) Treasures are pretty cool. We all grew up with tales of treasure hunters trying to find gold. We grew up with pirate fantasies of looking for the elusive treasure chest. Likewise, most people play the lottery, trying to find wealth. Riches are an allurement. Fortune favors the bold. Except…What God considers of great value does not always line up with what man believes is of importance. What revs our engine? 3) Although we have done deep dives into the principles of judgment, some simple reminders will help us navigate through the terrain of the darkness of the enemy, the world, or the flesh. To Judge…or not to Judge…is not the question. How to judge based on what God’s principles are.

Begin at the end: Dave gives his "practical" approach to prayer in lieu of the Trinity at the end of this hour. 1) The people with Saul were on a mission to help him. There is an often unseen principle that happens here. With no intent from saul, God’s encounter with him has a spill-over effect on those around him. In better phrasing, what Jesus was doing to Saul immediately impacted those with Saul, even though they didn’t understand it fully. They heard something but saw nothing. This was a nifty way for God to witness to those around Saul because they knew something powerful was taking place. 2) Saul got up off the ground after being knocked off his donkey and onto his keister. He was blind. So, a light beamed down on Saul, he got knocked down, Jesus spoke to him, and he was blind. Thi sis why everyone needs to be a little more humble about their own wisdom in free will and predestination. Man makes choices. Freely. And God ALREADY knows those choices. Nothing catches Him by surprise. But in this case, unless you are in denial, you can toss free will out the door. 3) For the sake of clarity, Saul was not blinded by the light, rubbed his eyes, and then everything was back to normal. He could not chalk this up to too many burritos the night before. Instead, he had an encounter with God. And God was not too happy with him. And he REMAINED blind for three days. It’s just like the three days of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Yep, God is always giving witness.

This 30-minutes is all about: A) Love comes from God, not people. Therefore, the origin of love is because of God Himself. Therefore, His definition (not Satan’s, the world's, or our flesh’s definition) is the ONLY correct definition. B) Here is how God showed what love is. He gave His Son so we could live. The first element is giving, and the second element is life. BTW, it’s eternal life, not earthly life. C) And let’s add this reality; God loved us FIRST. Real love starts the love without the other being deserving of that love. And then there is this; This love is supposed to help people be free from SIN. Not to enjoy sin.

This 60-minutes is about: 1) Christian Kaos, part three: A tale of two cities. A tale of three kings. A tale of four Jews. That’s the ticker, and here we go: Four Jewish Christians, all from the same city in Detroit, Michigan, all living in the same neighborhood, two of which were, and still are, best friends. All were saying yes to Jesus within thirty days of each other. And all on fire for Jesus ChristAfter that, we were known as The Four Musketeers. 2) We had a pseudo-church that went nowhere. Then, Ken left for a month-long journey, and the Lord grew the church from nothing to something. When Ken returned, the church returned to slim pickings. Then, pastor Ken started getting involved in our personal decisions. Where we would live, what jobs we should or shouldn’t take, people we could date, and people we could be friends with. The final decision for group approval became Ken’s thumbs up or his thumbs down. 3) Later, a new dynamic emerged. Ken told us that if we needed to get counseling, he was available for anything large or small. No costs and no worries about privacy. He told us it was as sacred as sharing with an attorney when we counseled a pastor. And he promised that nobody would ever hear about it, and he would never judge us no matter what he heard. We didn’t know any better. And a man of God would never lie. Ken lied. And it was brutal.

Normal is as normal does. And there is nothing normal about today's show. This 30 minutes had our great brother Eric sharing about God connecting the dots for him while on vacation. Guess what? God's revelation is but an adjustment of the neck away. And our wonderful sister Debra calls in to answer trivia and lift her friend in prayer. The best shows are the ones where we are ALL involved.

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) Jesus said, “A time is coming and in fact has come when you will be scattered, each to your own home. You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my Father is with me.”. We need this key to unlock the door and operate it. Jesus said He was never alone. So, how do we seize the truth of never being alone? 2) Face painting. Yep, at carnivals, it’s fun for the kids. They get painted like animals. The truth is that they look kind of cool. Did you know that Jesus had face painting done to Him? I will bet you one trillion dollars that He did. Where in the Bible is this? In Matthew seventeen and Luke nine. What kind of animal did He look like? Wrong picture. His face looked brighter than the sun. Glory! 3) We visit our great friend, Pastor Ray, who is not “gone” but hanging with JC and not forgotten because his kingdom efforts will endure for eternity. Pastor Ray writes about regaining our wonder and awe. In the beginning, we were all so amazed. But then we got worldly wise and seemed to lose something. Ray gives us the keys to finding the amazing once again. It’s so close to each one of us. Just a slight shift in our neck will do the trick. We miss you, brother.

These 30-minutes are all about: A) Be on your guard: Wow…when we read what Jesus said, we find out that He gave multiple warnings to His followers. If it isn’t about Satan, it’s about the worldly system. If it’s not the worldy systems, it’s about liars who pretend to be religious and righteous. So, like in a sword fight (our sword is the truth), be ready. B) Fruit inspection is an essential part of the discernment required for authentic believers. We need to be careful what WE declare as what good fruit is. It’s not doing Christianity OUR way. But it is the understanding that if the Holy Spirit is in a person through Jesus Christ, we should be able to see that. C) People can didge for a while, but eventually, the reality comes out. That is not to disparage a person who has been faithful to Jesus for years but then has a failure. Or we wouldn’t fellowship with Peter or Mark.
