This 60-minutes is all about: 1) Yep, Jesus, I love you. I love the idea of eternal life. It is such excellent fire insurance. I will follow you wherever you go and do whatever you want me to do. This is the best association since they offered memberships in the local country club. But there could be a significant snafu in this reasoning. If we say YES to Jesus, we often lose the add-on benefits that earthly privileges bring and the idea of security and comfort coming from the world. 2) I know that the way that most churches portray the Christian families and Chrisitan fellowships are ones of fluff, puff, and nothing ruff. But that is a far cry from the realities of the faith. Proverbs 17:27 states As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. When iron sharpens iron, there are sparks, and the metal gets heated. Get it? So, when we read that the Disciples were having an argument, or when there are arguments in the church or moments of disagreement, that is called NORMAL. It’s living in the unresolved that is not okey dokey with God. 3) We visit our great friend, Pastor Ray, who is not “gone” but hanging with JC and not forgotten because his kingdom efforts will endure for eternity. Pastor Ray writes about what worship releases. So God hangs out with us. And His power is released in our lives and other lives all around us. The power of God is glorious. We miss you, brother.

This 30-minutes is all about: A) Ask, Seek, Knock. It will happen, it will, it will. Not right away. But it will happen. Not on the human microwave time train. But in God’s perfect timing. But not if it’s something to make our flesh happy. God is not a genie or Santa Claus, but He is not the Grinch either. B) Asks, Knocks, and Receives with the “s” at the end of each of these verbs. This means that the action continues. Like believing in Jesus, we don’t believe once and then STOP believing. We continually believed. In prayer, we continually pray. C) If people take care of their kids and meet their needs, how can we think one second less about God as He takes care of His kids? Yet, when we do, we plainly state that we do a better job than God. Really? Take a breath without oxygen, and let me know how it goes.

1) Our God is SO amazing. In the days of the Israelites, as they were journeying through the wilderness, God promised that He would bring them into the Promised Land. This land would provide for their needs to be sustained. These provisions were already going to be in place for them. This is referenced in Deuteronomy 6:10-12. This promise was fulfilled in Joshua 24. But it is referenced again here in Nehemiah. This is how the Lord prepares the territory for us BEFORE we get there. 2) As we close out the study in Nehemiah and get ready for Job, we see four statements involving kingdom building and recovery: (1) All outstanding men, (2) all outstanding “associates,” (3) They opening their services to the Lord with prayer (not a twenty-second prayer), and (4) They were under royal orders which determined their daily activities. 3) God was the one who brought great joy to the people. Therefore, God is the source of all joy. Joy exists in Him. In His presence is the fullness of joy. And that joy is our strength. God brings things into our lives that cause joy. That happens because these things “come from God.” This os hwo Nehemaih closes. God reminds us where the joy comes from. Him.

This 30-minutes is all about: A) The definition of beauty in the world has changed about fifty times. In earlier times, the heavier women were considered more beautiful because they represented a fuller life before Madison Avenue came along. B) To God, the beauty definition has never changed. 1 Samuel 16:7, “Do not look at how he looks on the outside or how tall he is because I have not chosen him. For the Lord does not look at the things man looks at. A man looks at the outside of a person, but the Lord looks at the heart.” C) The truly beautiful women, in God’s sight, are the ones who put their hope in God; they do what is right, and they refuse to bow down to fear.

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) When a principle or a concept is in the scriptures several times, then it is essential to take note. When it is mentioned over fifty times, as you can imagine, it is excessively important. How about over two hundred times? The word receive or received is used about two hundred and forty times in the New Testament. So, when people laugh at the idea of receiving Jesus, they laugh at God’s Word. We receive Him by faith into our hearts, and the Holy Spirit takes up residence by His grace, and this is given to us by the Father as a gift. The big key is that this is all about purpose. 2) I have had the privilege of reading the Old Testament numerous times and the new testament even more. In addition, I have read the Bible in multiple English, Greek, and Hebrew translations. From the Amplified Version (because it starts with an A) to Young’s Literal Translation (because it starts with a Y which is close to a Z), I have enjoyed them all. And if your God isn’t more significant than a translation, you are in error, not knowing God’s scriptures or His power.

This 30-minutes is all about: A) Once and for all time. Jesus doesn’t need to offer sacrifices for Himself, as He is sinless. He also doesn’t need to offer sacrifices for us on an everyday basis. When he gave Himself, it was one and done. B) The law put the best we had amongst ourselves, which is still weak because of us. But the promises made to the chosen of God are based on the oath. This was made from the Godhead to Jesus in particular. It exists in perfection. Forever. C) Our High Priest is just a little bit closer than any other human High Priest could be. Our High Priest is sitting “right next to God” on the throne in the heavenly.
