The David Spoon Experience Part 1 7-14-2022
Thursday Jul 14, 2022
Thursday Jul 14, 2022
This 30-minutes is all about: A) One show, passage, expository teaching, and unique experience. Will it go good? I hope so. Will it be edifying? I hope so. Will it work? I hope so? Will it matter? Nope. B) We examine the portion of scripture where Jesus calls the woman a little dog. How rude. Or is it? Is there something more profound in this portion that too many of us who have read it have missed? You betcha. C) We will examine eight different points of this one text throughout the show. Some will be obvious. Some are somewhat subtle. And the rest could be the mind-blowing life-changing insight you have been looking for. That part is entirely up to the Holy Spirit.

H) And she left in faith.

1) There are two different responses that we offer enter into with the Lord without intending to insult Him. It’s a bit natural or fleshly human, so it is helpful for us to keep an eye on this. We can quickly revert to a bit of complaining when things are going bad. “I wouldn’t do it this way,” we may mumble under our breath. But that can only last so long, and eventually, we get on track. However, when things start to turn, we tend to forget the moment and why it turned. Again, it’s a bit natural or fleshly human, so it is helpful for us to keep an eye on this. 2) Why would God allow such freakish weird scenarios in our lives? He stopped Israel during the time after Joshua’s death to test His kids and to teach His kids. They might not have liked that, but He didn’t ask them if they liked it. And He won’t ask you or me if we like it either. That’s because Christianity is about becoming more like Jesus and not more of us. And if that takes Him directing us to Red Sea circumstances, then so be it.

A) Many bulls have surrounded me. I think we can quickly get the picture here, as David is not speaking literally (Sorry, Charlie) but figuratively. Many bulls are the people that are charging him. B) I am poured out like water. A bit different than emptying ourselves. This is someone emptying us. Take a shot at who is in charge behind the scenes. C) Verse 15b gives us the answer to the question above. We may not like it, but we have to read it. God is large and in charge. D) Another specfic referecne to Jesus. Just when you think He could not possibly understand your situation, He proves that He understands more than we can ever imagine. His scenario was worse. He never did anything wrong.

1) Do Christians need to be led by the Holy Spirit? 2) Too often, we forget the most fundamental truths of our Christian faith. John 1:1 states, In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Jesus is God. Every single Gospel testifies to this. The pharisee even tried to stone Jesus and accused Him of making Himself equal with God. See John 5:18. But we tend to forget that Jesus is a man. He identified Himself as “the Son of man” in about eighty-nine references. He understands divinity. He understands humanity. He bleeds. He feels. He hurts for His own. He knows what we are going through. 3) Proverbs 14:12 states, There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end, it leads to death. Boy, this sure seems like the right way. If it feels good, then how can it be wrong. The truth is that the heart is much darker than people want to admit. God tells us in Jeremiah 17:9; The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? But Daveio, The world clarifies that we need to be Politically Correct, Race Guilty, and Woke about Whatever. Yep, that seems right for the people of the world system. God has a different take. And only one path leads to life everlasting.

This 30-minutes is all about: A) But, this means that, regardless of everything else, here is what we need to do. Seek, which means to pursue. First, which means priority. B) The Kingdom of God: The kingdom of God is where God is king. What areas in our lives is He not ruling in? C) And His righteousness. This means both Jesus and the righteousness that comes from hanging with the Big Dude. D) All these things are connected to V.32: your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) The Egyptians were arrogant. God would have none of it. Of this nation, and any other, including our own. Yet, the reputation of God has never been forgotten. Why is that important? Doesn’t that seem like someone who is ego-centric? That’s how the worldly think. But, on the contrary, God’s reputation is vital to humanity because His reputation offers hope, miracles, deliverances, forgiveness, grace, and mercy in His name. 2) A cloud during the day. That means relief from the hot sun. And a way to follow the Lord more clearly. That could only happen if there were fewer distractions. A pillar of fire at night. This was so the Israelites could see in the dark. As the scriptures say, both of these are used by God to help His people find their way. As then, so it is now. 3) Bread from heaven. Oh my…can you just stop and consider how great our foods our in this world today. And great fresh bread is way up there at the top of the list. Now think about that the fresh bread baker is God. Yummy. And water from a rock? Sounds like the best water ever.

This 30-minutes is all about: A) To this, You were called: Okey dokey, what is part of our “calling” according to the Bible? Phonetic Spelling: (kal-eh'-o), Definition: to call, Usage: (a) I call, summon, invite, (b) I call, name. B) Pulpit Commentary: Verse 21. - For even hereunto were ye called; that is, to do good and to suffer patiently. C) How do we know that this refers to actual Christian sufferings (by the way, this is not about difficult moments. It’s about being Christians)? Because Jesus is the example. D) When people were uncool, Jesus was fantastic to them and did NOT retaliate. He did not strike back, get revenge, or get even.
