This 60-minutes is all about: 1) The Egyptians were arrogant. God would have none of it. Of this nation, and any other, including our own. Yet, the reputation of God has never been forgotten. Why is that important? Doesn’t that seem like someone who is ego-centric? That’s how the worldly think. But, on the contrary, God’s reputation is vital to humanity because His reputation offers hope, miracles, deliverances, forgiveness, grace, and mercy in His name. 2) A cloud during the day. That means relief from the hot sun. And a way to follow the Lord more clearly. That could only happen if there were fewer distractions. A pillar of fire at night. This was so the Israelites could see in the dark. As the scriptures say, both of these are used by God to help His people find their way. As then, so it is now. 3) Bread from heaven. Oh my…can you just stop and consider how great our foods our in this world today. And great fresh bread is way up there at the top of the list. Now think about that the fresh bread baker is God. Yummy. And water from a rock? Sounds like the best water ever.

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) Pastor Tommy Barnett preached a message at Phoenix First Assembly in Phoenix, Arizona. His purpose was to warn Christians about being reaction-oriented instead of action-oriented. Although this sermon was preached in the 1980s, the principle still stands firm. When we have a situation that arises (and who doesn’t), how we engage with it speaks of our maturity. De we re-act? Do we freak out, kick, scream, yell, and throw a fit? Or do we take the biblical action instead? We examine the example that King Hezekiah left us to follow. 2) Everyone likes to be acknowledged as alive. No problem there, as God acknowledges by paying the blood of Jesus for us. Everybody wants to be well thought of. Slight problem there because of John 12:43, which reads, for they loved human praise more than praise from God. Too many people want to be known, well thought of, popular, and adored. HUGE problems there because if everyone likes you, you may be projecting a different image than God designed for you. Not good. 3) The concept of smoking a peace pipe is excellent. If that is racist, then peace is racist. Nice try, woke weasels. The truth is that Matthew 5:9 states, Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. So that’s awesome. Unless it is peace with the Devil. Or the anti-God world, or with the fleshly. If you want to be an enemy of God, become a friend of the world (James 4:4). Take a chance, play with fire.

Our great brother Sergio calls in with another brilliant question. He asks, why am I not doing better in my walk, as a believer? Dave does his best to answer Sergio with a four-pronged approach. Be brutally honest with God in prayer, read the word to hear Him speak to you, Cut out some of the people and influences that are dragging you down, and Add-in real fellowship with real believers. Afterward, there is a prayer for everyone to do this.

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) Turn to the Lord. This is the answer whenever we are wayward. We should be turning to the Lord 1000 times a week. Unfortunately, people who think we don’t need to continually repent keep the residue of sin working against them. Not for justification but for sanctification. Simon was Full of bitterness like many Christians seem to be. When that happens, we are captive to that sin and a host of other ones. Not because we have to be but because we offer ourselves to be. Read Romans 6:13, which says, Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness. 2) If we come across someone, and if we are going through this type of struggle ourselves, we should be offering or asking for prayer. Sending prayers, which is biblical since all intercessory prayers are sent to God on behalf of others, is the best antidote. Simon knows he is stuck. So, he asks for the Apostles to pray for him. It’s not weakness to ask for prayer; it’s wisdom. 3) The Apostles stopped in many villages and preached the Good News. Hint, hint, they took the Gospel with them. Hint, hint, so should we. Where ever we are and whenever we go. Who knows (but the Lord) if there is a divine appointment waiting. So let’s live aware. Amen?

This 30-minutes is all about: A) We know: We have confidence. We can be assured. We can understand the guarantee because of this. Because we love the brotherhood. Why? Because then we are loving what God loves. Isn’t that wisdom? B) No murderer. No current and active murderer. Past murderers, like Moses, David, and Paul, are on the forgiveness track. But currently, operating in hate for people of the kingdom of God is considered murder by the word of God. And that is more than a bozo nono. C) How else can we know what love is? By the example of Jesus. And what did Jesus do that showed His love? He gave Himself up for us. That is why there is a benefit for those who accept Him and receive Him and disaster for those who do not.

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) Have you encountered disappointment? That was the original title of my book, Disappointment, His Appointment. Why would I write a book with that kind of title? Because it is a part of me. I have known disappointment on several levels. That doesn’t make me spiritual. But there is a massively significant difference between; the Lord disappointing us …and Him using disappointments in our lives to help us draw closer to Him. The Lord never disappoints. But our perceptions often get polluted because of our old selves. 2) Discouragement often leads to feelings of Distance. This does not make us weird. It makes us human. And it is definitely the direct result of original and personal sin. By the way, for those who are shouting that there is nothing to deal with relating to the old man because we are new in Christ, here is a brain buster; Then why do Christians still die? The reason is that the fullness of redemption has yet to be pulled. In the meantime, between the first and second coming of Jesus, we get to go through sanctification. It is a process. 3) But after all is said and done, one thing is left that makes it all work together for good. That is called Deliverance. And what’s so awesome about deliverance is that it has a promise for more than just a recovery from that which was lost. It has a promise for even more—an increase. More is coming. Great things are coming. The calvary is coming. Jesus is coming.

This 30-minutes is all about: A) I am a worm. I am no man. This is not David falsely berating himself. Nor is this negative speech. On the contrary, this is an honest expression of his feelings. Something too many Christians have forgotten to maintain. B) But He speaks faith when he mentions that his opposers mock him for trusting in God, despite his looks or feelings. He knows God will prevail. C) David recognizes that although his current circumstance does not reflect the commitment of God from the human perspective, God is always faithful. To everyone. From the womb. So, YES, abortion is murder. But there is forgiveness and healing for all who seek Him.
