The David Spoon Experience Part 2 7-6-2022

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) Have you encountered disappointment? That was the original title of my book, Disappointment, His Appointment. Why would I write a book with that kind of title? Because it is a part of me. I have known disappointment on several levels. That doesn’t make me spiritual. But there is a massively significant difference between; the Lord disappointing us …and Him using disappointments in our lives to help us draw closer to Him. The Lord never disappoints. But our perceptions often get polluted because of our old selves. 2) Discouragement often leads to feelings of Distance. This does not make us weird. It makes us human. And it is definitely the direct result of original and personal sin. By the way, for those who are shouting that there is nothing to deal with relating to the old man because we are new in Christ, here is a brain buster; Then why do Christians still die? The reason is that the fullness of redemption has yet to be pulled. In the meantime, between the first and second coming of Jesus, we get to go through sanctification. It is a process. 3) But after all is said and done, one thing is left that makes it all work together for good. That is called Deliverance. And what’s so awesome about deliverance is that it has a promise for more than just a recovery from that which was lost. It has a promise for even more—an increase. More is coming. Great things are coming. The calvary is coming. Jesus is coming.

This 30-minutes is all about: A) I am a worm. I am no man. This is not David falsely berating himself. Nor is this negative speech. On the contrary, this is an honest expression of his feelings. Something too many Christians have forgotten to maintain. B) But He speaks faith when he mentions that his opposers mock him for trusting in God, despite his looks or feelings. He knows God will prevail. C) David recognizes that although his current circumstance does not reflect the commitment of God from the human perspective, God is always faithful. To everyone. From the womb. So, YES, abortion is murder. But there is forgiveness and healing for all who seek Him.

1) There are two different responses that we offer enter into with the Lord without intending to insult Him. It’s a bit natural or fleshly human, so it is helpful for us to keep an eye on this. We can quickly revert to a bit of complaining when things are going bad. “I wouldn’t do it this way,” we may mumble under our breath. But that can only last so long, and eventually, we get on track. However, when things start to turn, we tend to forget the moment and why it turned. Again, it’s a bit natural or fleshly human, so it is helpful for us to keep an eye on this. 2) Why would God allow such freakish weird scenarios in our lives? He stopped Israel during the time after Joshua’s death to test His kids and to teach His kids. They might not have liked that, but He didn’t ask them if they liked it. And He won’t ask you or me if we like it either. That’s because Christianity is about becoming more like Jesus and not more of us. And if that takes Him directing us to Red Sea circumstances, then so be it.

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) Jesus referenced David eating the bread of the presence, which was not lawful for him to eat. He wasn’t even the king yet. But in that situation, the circumstance helped to dictate the actions. By the way, David lied to the Ahimelek, the priest, about it. But there was no condemnation of David’s action. The purpose of the Law is to help people, not restrict them. But Jesus carried much greater weight than the intersection of Law and actions. He was ABOVE the Law because He was, is, and always will be greater. He is Lord over the fourth and every commandment. 2) We are not all the same. Unity does not consist of conformity regarding how God made each one of us. Separate fingerprints, eye prints, and DNA structures make it clear that we are similar but different. Individuality is GREAt and ordained by God. Hezekiah was Himself. But we all should be like Hezekiah in this: He held fast, did not turn, and followed the commandments of God. 3) The right scroll, at the right time. Have you ever asked God a question? And then, after asking Him, you get an answer from the Lord through His word? Yep, that has happened to tens of thousands of us multiple times. That is the DAP. The Dynamic Application Principle is when God speaks to us in a moment, but only for a moment. It’s not a license to use the scriptures how we want to. It is a license to hear Him and to draw closer to Him through His word.

These 30-minutes are all about: A) Observe. That translates into “noticing or perceiving (something) and registering it as being significant.” According to the dictionary. B) They don’t work. Not in a lazy way. They don’t function in a save it up for a rainy day attitude. But God still covers them with His own glory. C) If God pours His glory into a bird. Well, as Jesus said, YOU are worth a ton more than birds. So sorry, PETA, God wins; you lose. D) What does Jesus rebuke? Our little faith. Don’t eagerly seek the other stuff. It won’t help you when you need it most.

This 60-minutes is all about: Good show if you need prayer: 1) I'm a pretty active guy. I try to keep myself active spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally. Far from perfect, or anything close, I sincerely appreciate the grace and mercy of God. I receive it positionally and practically or situationally. But similar to everyone who has been an authentic Christian for more than 10 minutes, I get weary. That's not a surprise. But this might be: Colossians 1:29 says, "according to the energy of Him." That is the direct Greek translation. enérgeia (the root of the English term "energy") – energy; "power in action"(Wm. Barclay, NT Words, 46.) I need His energy. You too! 2) Jesus emptied His last breath of His own choosing. Unfortunately, some terrible and wicked comedians have been trying to connect this act of love to something less. The fool has said in his heart, that there is no God. But the key is that this moment changed the nature of our relationship with God. We went from Old to New. And the curtain was ripped from top to bottom. That means that God made the tear. 3) Whacking others with the Word of God. People who use the Law to kill are yucky. People who use the Spirit to bring life are cool. Be cool. We are commanded in His word to use His word, to bring life, not death. Speak life.

This 30-minutes is all about: A) Sergio calls in with another brilliant question. Dave does his best to answer, in a three-part response. But not in perfect three-part harmony. B) If we could have reached perfection by our own righteous fulfillment of the Law, there would have never been a need for continual sacrifices, a new covenant, or even a Messiah.
