This 60-minutes is all about: 1) We are what we wear. After all, the outside mirrors the inside. O.K, what does that say about undershirts and socks? Not much. We are what we eat. That is true to a degree. But I don’t think anybody is actually a popsicle or a salad. You are what you think. That’s truer, to a much larger degree than you are what you eat since the brain produces over 80 percent of the body’s responses. But they all fall short of this absolute truth. This principle connects what we wear, what we eat, and what we think; We are what we worship more than anything else. 2) He can do it, but will he do it? I’m going to answer that question with another question. And when your school teacher or your parents said that you should answer a question with a question, they were wrong. Jesus used this tactic all the time. So here is the response question: He can do it, but will He do it? Do we underestimate our God? 3) We often make a reference to the sermon on the mount when Jesus talked about building a house upon sand or building a house upon a rock. This is the difference between the doers and the hearers. So, what’s the big deal? One way or another, the storms, the streams, the high waters are coming. How we engage determines their impact.

This 30-minutes is all about: A) Therefore because we will change our focus and lay up treasures in God’s kingdom, He will help us get through life in this kingdom. B) Do Not Worry. This is a choice. We can decide, because of God’s faithfulness, not to worry. How much we worry should be an excellent indicator of how much we are NOT trusting God.

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) Stand UP…and praise the Lord. Stand up. Be a light in the darkness. Isaiah 60:1 reads, “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.” The righteous are as bold as a lion, not as quiet as a church mouse. The righteous are not retaliatory or vengeful. But they are not incapable of speaking the truth either. The key is balance. Somewhere away from being a mashugana and somewhere closer to being a defender of the truth. We connect with the triune God and truth. 2) His name of far more significant than we can think. His name of far greater than we can say. He is beyond what we think He is. He is better. He is kinder, more graceful, merciful, wiser, knowledgeable, powerful, present, and more than everything else we can think of. He is MORE. 3) God made everything. God preserves everything. He made everything on earth. He made everything in heaven. That is a simple way of saying that the Lord God Almighty is the One who created life. The Lord God Almighty is the One who keeps life. He is…the ONE.

This 30-minutes is all about: Forget about it. Our faithful supporter and listener, Eric, calls in with a fabulous testimony. The Lord answers prayers. Afterward No, Dave shares a personal story about trying to get everything done in his own power, then giving up and watching God step in. And everything changes in a moment. This is a lesson we all need to remember.

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) One of the most extraordinary experiences in the Lord, and yes, I said the word experience, is when we draw closer to the Lord. We know Him in His presence, just like we know people when hanging around them. As we draw closer to the Lord, there is a wonderous engagement that takes place: 1) We know how full of love He is. 2) We know that he has forgiven us. And 3) We also become more aware of how much there was to forgive. The closer to the light, the more our darkness is revealed. 2) OK. Twenty minutes of cardio. That’s enough. But the fitness trainer says, keep going. Ten delicious bites of Australian Lobster Tail. That’s enough. But the stomach says, keep going. The football player makes the first down. That’s enough. But the coach says, keep going. Twenty dollars from the wallet to the church. That’s enough. But the Holy Spirit says, keep going. Jesus explicitly teaches us one mile? No two. Keep going. 3) We visit our great friend, Pastor Ray, who is not “gone” but hanging with JC and not forgotten because his kingdom efforts will endure for eternity. Pastor Ray writes about taking care of ourselves. God helps us. We shouldn’t hurt ourselves. We miss you, brother.

This 30-minutes is all about: A) Abe gave a tenth. Wow. Mel had to be somebody special. He was. Again, he was a foreshadowing of Christ. To get into it a little more, here is another place in the Old Testament where God shares the Gospel ahead of the Gospel manifestation. B) Abraham was blessed, so he gave. That is as important as any principle in the realm of giving. So God blessed Abe, and Abe gave to express his appreciation to God. C) Oh my. Many people won’t like this, but giving for the teachers (the Levites and the priests) comes from their brothers and sisters. God doesn’t buy the land, build the house, and hand over His monthly stipend. Instead, he charges His kids to provide for the other kids’ needs.
