This 60-minutes is all about: 1) Enter Philip of the original Seven Deacons from Acts 6:5. The book of Acts follows the Acts of Apostles, Deacons, Winners, and Losers. Phillip was a powerful proclaimer of the Gospel. The people listened because he spoke so fantastically. He must have had a stellar personality because many people listened to him and were in awe. After all, people flock to the “pretty people,” don’t they? Not the godly. The godly flock to where God is. When the power of God is there, people listen. 2) The enemy was being driven out. Sickness was on the run. And the people were filled with great joy. The world was changing before their eyes. Was it the Green New Deal? No. Was it the lower gas prices? Sorry. Was it the defeat of the Roman empire right in front of their eyes? Not too much. It was the power of the Gospel beating back the devil and curing people’s diseases. It was the Gospel bring hope in dark times. 3) Simon, the Sorcerer. Every phony needs a nifty nickname. This dude was fooling people into believing that he was Wayne Gretzky, with people calling him, The Great One. But it was all smoke and mirrors. He used deception to proclaim greatness. He must have been a politician.

This 30-minutes is all about: A) Those that practice sin are of the devil. It’s not nice to call pro-abortionists of the devil. Well, murder isn’t nice either. And one of the tags on satan is that he was a murderer from the beginning (John 8:44). B) But Dave, how can Christians be for the death penalty? The death penalty is not murder; it’s justice. It’s well established in the Old Testament. And Jesus referenced the death penalty about seven times. C) Jesus came to destroy the work of the devil. Why? Because he disrupted the relationship between God and Mankind. He helped enslave humanity to sin. And Jesus destroyed that power and privilege that was stolen by Mankind’s forfeiture of power to the enemy through sin.

TOP SHOW! This 60-minutes is all about: 1) The TRUTH sets us free. Truth number one: Jesus is the truth. To know is to be set free. John 14:6 states that Jesus answered, I am the way, truth, and life. Plus, John 8:36 states, So if the Son sets you free, you really will be free. Truth number two: The word of God is the truth. John 17:17 states, Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth. Truth number three: Jesus is the Word. Jonh 1;1 states, In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:14 states, The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. 2) The key is to be connected to Jesus to be set free. So, how do we move the truth, something we see in our minds, to the truth, something we believe in our hearts? What can WE do to move the truth from our minds to our hearts without being weird about the whole thing? 3) We obey the Bible passages that teach us how to COMPLETE the salvation formula. We function in the action that works in concert with our faith. They apply this principle to everything in life. That’s the nicest way to say that…everything we do, we keep it biblical. Even if others have made this messy by abusing this principle, it doesn’t mean we ignore the application.

TOP SHOW: This 30-minutes is all about: A) My God, My God. The last thing that Jesus said. Is this the moment where God looked away? Well, maybe. But not absolutely. Did God look away from Jesus because of the sin placed on Him? Did God look away because of the pain? Or did God ever look away? B) Why might that look away be wrong? Two solid reasons. Jesus may have simply quoted the Psalm to show His connection to this Psalm. It is the messianic Psalm, after all. C) Here is another reason why this might not be a “looking away” moment. Verse 24: For He has not despised or scorned, the suffering of the afflicted one; He has not hidden His face from Him, but has listened to His cry for help. Have we ever felt like this? I wonder why?

Can Dave Be Wrong??? You betcha! This 60-minutes is all about: 1) God had given. To start with, when God gives something, He is not cheap about it. God gives graciously. Let’s all stop thinking that God is a cheapskate. Second, He gives us gifts, special graces, naturally and supernaturally developed in our lives. The greatest 20th-century evangelist grew in his gifting. Let’s get over it. But the giftings are FOR OTHER PEOPLE. They are not badges of honor but calls to service. What is your gift? How are you using your gift? 2) There is an Old Testament and a New Testament. It is the same God from both. But in the New Testament, for us not to ruin it like we did the first one, God took both sides of the agreement and accomplished them. That’s another reason why Jesus became a man so that both sides could be covered. But there are many gold nuggets in the teachings of the Old. 3) Do we get fascinated by God’s instrument, especially the people God uses to further His kingdom’s work? Unfortunately, some people get TOO fascinated. After all, it’s not the tool or the vessel that owns the power. It’s God and God alone. So let’s stay fascinated with Him.

This 30-minutes is all about: A) Here’s a reality check. We can’t serve two masters. We can if we exclude God, but we can’t if we include God. Why not? He won’t let us. B) To the specifics and more warning for this country than almost any other country. It’s God or money. Which one will we serve?
