The David Spoon Experience Part 2 6-1-2022

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) Amazingly, and not be David spoon’s design, this portion of the show follows in perfect concert with the first third, half, and quarter of the show. Hence, methinks we need to pay attention. The call and the command of Jesus are to carry one another’s burdens as the family of God. That’s the New Commandment that Jesus gave the church. To carry other people’s burdens is to know them well enough to know what those burdens are. The command is to know others. 2) Next to that is the need and the desire to be known ourselves. We need to be appreciated too. That’s the irony of being a Christian. God knows us inside and out and still chose us to be with Him. We often neglect that God has created a place of being known for the church. It’s not called the church, but it happens in church. It’s called fellowship.

This 30-minutes is all about: A) Enter into Psalm 19. And “boy howdy,” does this Psalm pack a wallop. Who can understand his mistakes? Who can grasp the depth of the fullness of their foolishness? B) Cleanse me from SECRET faults: This means the ones we know about and those we don’t even know about but are contrary to God. While the word for sin means to miss the mark, a more practical definition is anything contrary to God. C) Please, God, don’t let my sins reign over me. Don’t let me allow my sins to take charge. Genesis 4:7, But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”

This 60-minutes is all about: GREAT TESTIMONY BY PAUL BOLT!!! 1) Money, Money, Money. I mean, come on. Let’s be honest. If someone said, here is a million dollars, no strings attached, it’s not like we would repulse us. And NO, Dunder Mifflin, money is NOT the root of all evil. It’s the LOVE of money. And that’s because loving money means that money, riches, treasures, and gold is that person’s idle. And the love of money leads to selfishness, lust for power, and stupid thinking. But money, in and of itself, is okey-dokey. Our brain is in the potty if our passion is in the purse. 2) The guy is on the corner street. He has a sandwich board sign on him. “Repent, for the end of the world is at hand.” The funny thing about that sign is not the repent part. It’s the end of the world part connected to the repentance part. We still need to repent, whether we last 50 more days, weeks, months, years, or decades. And we had better do it right, or it’s not gonna count. So we examine what’s “right.” 3) The Christian Faith: It’s all smiles, chuckles, and cotton candy. It’s pie in the sky and the opiate of the people. It’s how we soothe our deepest fears. Until we talk back to God. And then, like Job, He drops the Hebrew Hammer on His claymation. It’s not so much fun then, is it?

This 30-minutes is all about: A) The bottom line is that God shows Himself merciful to the merciful. And He watches us in each situation. He examines our attitudes on the inside and our actions on the outside. And how we respond connects us to show how actually “connected to Him” we are. B) When you fast: Uh oh. Fasting has been lost to so many of us. To “fast” is to go without. Long before Lent came along, there was the genuine discipline of self-denial to use that time to draw closer to the Lord. Maybe, we should just start with a Media Fast. Specific time is optional. C) If we ever fast to show how spiritual we are…skip it…and go to Taco Bell. It’s more spiritual than fasting to be acting. God likes it to be private. He rewards SECRETLY. That means others don’t see or know.

Those idiotic faith people believe in a resurrection. Are we Christians…Nut Jobs? YES! 1 Corinthians 4:10 says, “Our dedication to Christ makes us look like fools.” Would we rather be fools for Christ or burnt to a crisp for the world? Sometimes, the worldly think we are crazy. That’s cool. God doesn’t. 2) I’ll save you. All you have to do is buy my program, “How to make gazillion dollars in real estate without using your money, credit, time, effort, or brain.” Or…drink this green stuff, and all your problems will disappear. Or…buy this slam-o-matic, and your troubles will be cured. All you have to do is slam your head against this unique piece of wood 1000 times a day, and you will feel great. Or…buy our magazine, see the stars, be envious, and live life vicariously through them, and you will be happy—too many promises, too many lies, and not enough truth. And only ONE can save us. 3) Be aware that the word of the Lord can come to you at any time and any place, even if you are not considered “special” by the world. So, listen up.

Christians have the BEST hope ever manifested. It is an anchor during any size storm. And it’s solid. B) The inner sanctuary. That is where the very presence of God is. Instead of the Wizard of Oz telling us to “pay no attention to the man behind the curtain,” it is the opposite. The very One we long for is behind the curtain. And Jesus gave us the rope to open it. C) Our High Priest. Not just a priest, but THE HIGH PRIEST. And not just for a little while. But forever. We will always, always, always have Jesus standing by our side.
