The David Spoon Experience Part 2 5-4-2022

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) I want to talk a bit about faith. It is such a radical concept for a logical society. The Greeks believed that faith was foolishness. But faith is God’s vehicle for us to connect with Him. Why? When you get to heaven, ask Him. We need to grasp that God receives people because of faith until then. 2) Here is the ticket. No faith, no pleasing God. No, it is not a one-time one-place one-moment one-space faith. It is a faith that is alive. Why does it have to be alive? Because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. And guess what? The Word of God is alive and active. So, if we have Christian faith, it MUST BE alive, active, and powerful. 3) Dave shares a bizarre but blessed experience in extreme faith.

The David Spoon Experience Part 2 5-3-2022

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) Christians can be pharisaical sometimes. In truth, today’s Pharisees are located where? In the church. Like they were found in the temple in the time of Christ. Even those who are in close proximity to Jesus can quickly pick up the Judas’ spirit. What is the Judas spirit? No, it’s not a new book coming to you. It’s the reality that Judas “looked” for an opportunity to accuse or betray Jesus. Do we “look” for the faults of others? That was the hypocritical judgment that Jesus was talking about in Matt. 7. Not to judge, but to judge others before we judge ourselves. 2) Would it be nice to pick up the phone, get the Lord on the line, ask the questions we want to ask, and get the answers before hanging up? Dave that only happens to the spiritual elite. You know, those guys and gals that have a direct line. Do they have a better connection to God than Elijah did? Nope. I think we can safely say nope. So, if Elijah didn’t have that bat phone, you don’t have one either. 3) The DDD that I will share with you will send a few shivers through a few spines. The people of God can find themselves off. When that happens, that often illustrates three things are being quenched, besides the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It’s more likely that the time, the touch, or the teach are muddy. It’s shower time.

This 30-minutes is all about: A) Your kingdom come… But first, God’s stuff. Not ours. His kingdom is done in heaven. So His desire needs to be our desire. B) You will. This is about His KINGDOM ON EARTH. So, what is His will in a given situation? That is what we should be praying for. C) Before our needs are God’s kingdom and His requirements. This will be referenced again in Matt. 6:33, specifically related to personal needs.

Funday Monday! This 60-minutes is all about: 1) A faithful man is hard to find. A faithful woman is hard to find. Not many in most leadership roles are faithful. So, how can we spot a faithful person? Is it because of what they wear? No chance. Is it because of what they say? Sometimes. But mostly, it’s because they do one thing above all else. They fear God. And it shows in what they do, what they say, and how they breathe. We can tell. 2) I came up with a great idea. Ever had that thought? Me too. Do you want to hear mine? OK, but if you use and get famous, He Must Increase Ministry wants the tithes and offerings. So, paper towels are perforated in circles for bowls, so you don’t have square sheets over round bowls. Have you seen this before? My idea, twenty-five years ago. I’m so bright. But guess what? Without God, nobody has any good ideas. 3) Do you remember the lady, Rachel Dolezal? Is that not ringing a bell? She is the gal that pretended to be black and was in charge of the NAACP organization. She’s white. She claimed on CNN that she was black because she felt black. How absurd can a person be? She lied about who she was. Shocker. That’s why there needs to be evidence of a person’s life and history. Just ask Pocahontas Warren.

The David Spoon Experience Part 2 5-9-2022

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) We have finally arrived at some of my favorite Nehemaih portions. The scroll was brought before the assembly. Some churches demand that everyone be at the main gathering. Some churches require that only adults be at the central meeting. Some churches, like these two mentioned, should be more like Jesus. Kids are great, especially if they understand what’s being taught. But for churches to use Nehemiah as their service structure means: No roof for anybody. Please child. 2) Oh yes, here’s the other thing. How about some biblical proof that we live in a microwave church society? In any church larger enough, we have multiple services. In goes the herd, out goes the herd, and in comes the next herd. That’s not as bad as I am making it, but in Nehemiah, they say together from early morning until noon. At a minimum, that’s four hours of listening to the reading of the Law. Can you say, “what’s for lunch?” because I know I can. And I have. 3) And here is the challenge for the twenty-first-century church: paying attention. You have likely heard of the expression, “I’m so broke, I can’t pay attention.” Nowhere is that more true than in the modern church. We are so spiritually broke that if the pastor isn’t fascinating, we start checking stuff out on our phones. Yeah. That’s not too impressive.
