The David Spoon Experience Part 2 4-29-22

1) We come back to Dave’s Testimony, part two, of two hundred and sixty-five thousand parts. Hold on to your hats because some of this material is more than a little strange. That’s the nicest way to say; I don’t understand every element of the theology, but I know what happened, and I can report on that. We go to The Law and The Testimony as we are told in Isaiah 8:20. Sometimes, that means we need to listen and consider. And be mindful of how awesome our God is.2) A second point and a HUGE word of caution. I don’t think of my past the same way that most people do. I subscribe to Captain Kirk’s theory of past life development. What I went through and what I did was wrong, dark, and evil. But I would not have come to the Lord without these events the way I did and in the power that I did. So, I see them as the launching pad for the road to redemption.3) Last note; This sharing does not validate or invalidate anyone’s theology. But it also does NOT bow to anyone’s theology. God extremely blesses me. But I am more like the demonic from the country of the Gerasene. Jesus told him to “declare how much God has done for you.” So, I share, but I’m still a little bit muddy for the tombs

A) We need to leave elementary teachings; Hello…that does not mean to FORGET them! On the contrary, these truths should be so secure in our hearts and minds that we entertain other theologies. B) Repentance, Faith, Baptisms (Ritual Washings), laying on of hands…How many people in the church think this is a fundamental truth? Not too many. Some churches think it’s goofy. God doesn’t. C) Resurrection and judgment to follow. It doesn’t matter your eschatology; a resurrection and a judgment are coming. D) IF…God permits us to advance. That depends on our most authentic desire to grow up in Him. If it’s there, He will grant it.

This 60-minutes is all about:1) Again, responding to Bobby’s parental situation, Dave focuses on being careful about having too much worldly influence in our lives (James 4:4) and separates the people from the system. 2) Awesome! I am so excited to tell God how to do ministry. It’s a good thing He knows my wisdom. Wowzers, without me, how could He do anything. I am so needed... .the universe could not even exist without me or my influence. Thank God for me. I know everything. Yeah, that’s what too many of us think. But God NEEDS nothing from any of us.3) Now, we engage deeply with Moses. How awesome is it that he is the example of “I’m eighty years old, so I don’t need to do anything or consider be usable for anything from the Lord?” Wow. Fantastic. It’s incredible how we can tell God what we can do, do, or should do. Isn’t it amazing that we know more than God almighty? What would He do without us? Anything and everything that He is doing now!

This 30-minutes is all about: Nothing that we planned again. Bobby calls in for prayer for his daughter. His wife and he raised her right, but now there is a less than excellent influence in her life. Dave and Bobby join faith and call upon the Lord to help the situation. Before our kids are our kids, they are His kids. Anneke calls in to share about the 4.27.22 podcast impacting her. But the key is that she is suffering from an ailment and the enemy is using a lie to keep her in bondage. Anneke and Dave join their faith to speak the truth and ask for healing from the Lord.

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) As we grow and become more like Jesus, it’s essential to know where we came from, where we are, and where we are going, as much as the Lord permits. The Christian journey is not just a hodgepodge of puzzle pieces thrown together to make a picture. It’s a Divine design that has purpose and intent. We examine a classic portrait of that design. 2) The first and primary message from the Apostle John in his gospel and epistles is that God is light. The imagery that starts this pathway is that we were all in darkness. And that darkness separated us from God because He is light. So, therefore, step one is for the light to come into the darkness. Our darkness! In our own lives, there was nothing. But then a light started shining, and suddenly, we could see. We see this at the beginning of creation. And God said, “Let there be light.”

This 30-minutes is all about: A) I have kept His ways. I have not put them behind me. The critical component: Do what God tells us to do. We don’t forget or set to the side of the Lord’s ways if we want to honor and reflect Jesus. B) To the merciful. To the not merciful. Get it? This is straightforward. What a man sows, so shall he reap (Galatians 6:7, NEW TESTAMENT). Be nice. Get nice. God is keeping score. C) You will save humble people. And not the arrogant. What do we have that we did not receive from God, including our breath?
