The David Spoon Experience Part 2 4-26-22

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) Our best Disciple pal, Peter, had a fiery and robust commitment to the Lord. We would not describe him as bashful. Maybe dopey, but not bashful. The thing about Peter is that so many of us can see ourselves in him, which is a strong case for why he was chosen in the first place. We examine another memorable moment in the disciple that often spoke before he looked. It’s kind of what makes him so awesome and so awful.2) There are prayers of power and great faith. And there should be. There are prayers of unusual confidence (thought of as the prayers of faith) in the Bible. There are heartbreaking prayers of weeping and petitioning, both biblically and personally. But there is hardly a better example of prayer than the pone that Jesus offered to the Father in the most excruciating time. And it’s in the book for us to follow.

This 60-minutes is all about: 1) When people stand against us because of our affiliation with Jesus, when people mock us because of our connection to our King, they will often get the first laugh. But not the last laugh. The truth is that the enemies of God and the enemies of God’s people will be humiliated. And the people who pretend to know God, but mock His followers, will also get their just desserts in His time. 2) The king has no clothes. I mean, seriously…Corn Pop? There comes the point when people (like the media) will just tell everyone how good one thing is and how bad another is. But He gave you a brain. Me too. And it doesn’t take too much to figure out that these promoters of biblical evil are full of…well… let’s just say hot air.

The prize has to do with rewards and not salvation. The gift is ALL ABOUT SALVATION: Ephesians 2:8-9 (NLT): "God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it."

Plus...1) A man works from sun to sun, but a woman’s work is never done. Or… a woman works from sun to sun, but a man’s work is never done. Or a child runs from sun to sun, but mom and dad don’t think it’s fun because their responsibilities are never done. So really, the key theme here is…Never Done. Just like you and me. We are never done seeking, living, and doing kingdom stuff. Do you know why? The Gospels will last longer than the earth. The Gospels are forever. 2) He loves us. Check. Does He like us? Yes. But sometimes, when we pray, we keep thinking that our answered prayers are about our wellness only. WRONG! Answered prayers are a testimony and a witness to the glory of God. And that’s more important than our fuzzy little feelings.
