This 60-minutes is all about:
1) Scales are an essential part of our lives. We use them every day. They help us gauge various instruments in our lives. Think of a Gas gauge. When it is empty, then there is little to no gas left. Think of an alarm clock. When it is first set, there is usually an asleep time ahead. When we wake up 10 minutes before the alarm, we know that it’s almost time to rise and shine, besides giving a huge sigh. Now think of this life. It is virtually empty, and the time is nearly gone—time to get up.
2) Sometimes, various teachings sweep in and out of the helpful church. Some of those teachings are not helpful. Others are brilliant. Still, others are stupid. Here is a stupid one: You only have to repent once. That’s stupid. Why? Because initial repentance has to do with connecting to salvation, subsequent repentance has to do with becoming more like Jesus. Don’t we want to be more like Jesus?
3) There are not too many more devotionals that we will be able to share from our dear brother, Pastor Ray. We have all of them and have taught many. From time to time, I will gravitate to one to share. Hopefully, this is the leading of the Lord. Like today’s devotional. The Bible is complex and simple. A child can understand it. But a theologian struggles. Wow.

A) Our good friend Sergio calls in to ask how we should respond as Christians when we fall short. Dave's answer comes out of 1 John 1-8-9, and 2 John 2:1-2. We are covered by the Blood but to repent, confess, and seek mercy is called for. And we can count on God's grace, which is greater than our sin.
B) Because Of Jesus, we have faith and know God, and can count on Him as our hope.

This 60-minutes is all about:
1) We will give back everything. Not all money is good money. Not all riches are promising riches. Sometimes, the way to handle the sin of taking advantage of someone is to bring full restitution. Plus. Like Zacchaeus did. He took from people MORE than he should have, not what he should have, but he took MORE.
2) Failing to keep promises that we have committed to God is about as dumb as we can get. This is why Jesus said do not swear by heaven (not our home) or earth (not our planet). So let’s have our yes’s and our no’s, be good enough.
3) Dave riffs on the media, Hollywood, and politicians. All of them liars. And the only good leader is one who walks in fear of the Lord.

The David Spoon Experience Part 2 3-25-22 Dave’s Testimony 1

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) Okey dokey artichoke. We are going to cover some new material in a new way. By this, I mean I will try to share portions of my testimony. I had a thought about entering the third year of this radio show. I will not have a perfectly coherent sharing, simply because I am not a robot. I will share, and then emphasize, the segments that I sense the Lord weighing heavy on. I can’t cover everything God has done because our show is not 10,000 hours long. But it will be a shared journey, one way or another.
2) A second point and a HUGE word of caution. I don’t think of my past the same way that most people do. I subscribe to the captain Kirk theory of past life development. What I went through and what I did was wrong, dark, and evil. But I would not have come to the Lord without these events the way I did and in the power that I did. So, I see them as the launching pad for the road to redemption.
3) Last note; This sharing does not validate or invalidate anyone’s theology. But it also does NOT bow to anyone’s theology. God extremely blesses me. But I am more like the demonic from the country of the Gerasene’s. Jesus told him to “declare how much God has done for you.” So, I share, but I’m still a little bit muddy for the tombs.

A) This is the message; Wow…is there any more of a specific statement than this. God is light. Consider God. There is NOTHING dark in Him.
B) If we claim to be Christians and have a relationship with God but have friendship with darkness, we’re lying. To ourselves and others.
C) If we walk in HIS light (not in the world), we have fellowship with God. If we don’t walk in His light, we play the religious card.
D) If we are the real deal, we connect. And we can know that we are covered in the blood. So, we are initially and progressively cleansed.

The David Spoon Experience Part 2 3-24-22

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) Stephen opens up his sharing with the miraculous. God appeared. Few things get people’s attention, like the manifestations of God. It’s how the nation of Israel was birthed. It’s how the church was birthed. And it’s to some degree, how you got saved. It starts with some form of an appearance of God. It doesn’t have to be told with brilliance and special effects. It just needs to be said. God will handle the impact.
2) How come when God appears and manifests Himself, there is “often” a command to the people to separate themselves from those around them? This is true for Abraham, but it’s also true for the Disciples. The main reason is that when God chooses people, He separates them unto Himself. This is what holiness really means—and grasping that being His property (YES…his property) means no one else before Him.
3) God gave Abe no inheritance here. Just think about this promise and this premise. God gave Abe no lasting territory here on earth. For Abe. It wasn’t for him but for his descendants. But Abraham himself got nada. That’s because Abraham had a better inheritance and one more suited to who he was. God himself was Abraham’s inheritance. God’s land, God’s city, and God’s country are where and what Abraham wanted.

The David Spoon Experience Part 1 3-23-22

This 30-minutes is all about:
A) Have you ever seen your child, or your spouse, in such a light that they look radiant? The beauty of their existence blesses you. That is what you and I look like to God.
B) Sometimes, we just look up at God and say, “please get up and defend me.” But, God does a better judge of setting things right.
C) Here is the culmination of Psalm 17: The wicked have their portion in this life, AND THAT’S IT! For us, it’s about the face of God. For-Eva!

The David Spoon Experience Part 2 3-23-22

This 60-minutes is all about:
Dave dispels the idea that ONLY the King James Bible is valid. God is bigger than any translation. If He isn't, then He's not omnipotent.
1) The self-help industry is booming. Non-Christian self-help is all about self. Christian self-help is all about self. And both are all about money, for the helper, from the help-ee. All of this is the exact opposite of the message from Jesus. Successful businesses and ministries do not declare that these gurus are right or righteous. If that were the case, Reverend Sum Yung Moon would be considered blessed by God. The Moonies? Really?
2) The most important truth to grasp for every living human being is this: Discovering the purpose of why WE were created is the key. We know it has to do with Jesus. But why did Jesus allow you and me to be made? What is the purpose of our existence? To be pure in this quest, we need to confess that our existence has to do with Jesus. It has to do with what Jesus wants us to do generally and specifically.
3) We examine the general will of God is FOR ALL OF US. First, we give a partial list just to help us get started or to help us maintain the right track. Then we examine how to pursue the specific purposes of God. Finally, some form of assignment, appointment or task is ours alone for our individual lives. Let’s journey together, for love’s sake.

A) Left hand and right hand. Is this literal? Of course not. There is a principle being taught here to make a point. The way that we should go about giving is in private, with anyone as close as our hands, knowing.
B) Praying to be seen, that sounds about right – if it’s praying to be seen by God. If we pray “to be seen” by people, then people can answer the prayers. Good luck with that. This is not a reference to ceremonies.
C) Why does Jesus tell us to pray in secret? It’s the place where we think that nobody is looking. But God always is. Praying in secret opens up the hidden places. It also makes it clear that there are no distractions.

It's still our 3 week anniversary week. And Dave shares why he leans away from politics.
1) Have you ever approached a challenge where you are just waiting for all the stars to be aligned perfectly? It sounds like a genius plan to have all our ducks aligned. However, in the Christian faith, some moments and situations call for us to just “go for it” whether we have everything together or not. That’s where faith comes into play.
2) When we take notice of our inventory, we seek to be wise stewards. There is nothing wrong with that. Unless we trust our list MORE than we trust in the Lord. Our supplies may “appear” to be lacking, but God has a way of taking what we do have and making it produce or generate even more than it should.
3) Parents lay up for the children. It does not necessitate that this principle is financial. That’s more of an American perspective. Laying up for children is also being aware of opportunities that the parents can provide. What’s bad parenting? Using every opportunity for ourselves and not thinking of the wellbeing of our kids. That’s stinking thinking.
