The David Spoon Experience Part 2 3-1-22
Tuesday Mar 01, 2022
Tuesday Mar 01, 2022
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) We are so special. God always gives us His best. And through Jesus Christ, we have one blessing after another. And if God has given us Jesus Christ, how will He not freely give us all things? How cool is that? And I’m sure, just like you are, that we only give God our best. Yes sir. We give God the best and only the best, right? We never give Him the leftovers of our time, talent, or treasure, do we? Do we?
2) The old commercial of the Indian chief standing by the side of the road. Someone throws out a bag of litter from their car. Cut to the Chief; a tear runs down his cheek. Give a hoot, don’t pollute. That’s mankind’s version of pollution. God’s idea of pollution is slightly different than our own. He sees innocent blood, idols, and sexual sin as the actual trash.
3) Last week, we talked about doing our best with decisions. And remembering that grace needs to be a part of it. This week, we dive into that little deeper by learning that when God gives us a choice, He expects us to use wisdom in our decisions. His wisdom is the best. The Spirit, His Word, and spiritual discernment skills… don’t hurt either.

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 30-minutes is all about:
A) Grace is not new. It’s not a God of the Old Testament and a Different God of the New Testament. God has always been …a God of grace. But it manifests differently, according to God’s schedule. Even situationally.
B) The special privilege we all share sure seems to get missed a lot. The great believers of the Old Testament carefully investigated the grace to come. And it did come. To us…through Jesus Christ. We are blessed.
C) We are being served, not with a legal document or with a dance challenge. We are being served by the Old Testament prophets. Wow.

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) We are supposed to do everything in a partnership with God. Everything. So, we may read, see, and understand that we cover it all by prayer. But often, that is accompanied by actions we need to take. Jesus said, “Watch and prayer” in Matthew 26:41, so we are supposed to do both. With Nehemiah, he got it right away. They needed to pray because everything should be bathed in prayer. And they needed to guard.
2) But as human nature would have it, there were divisions that arose from within. Here is a huge key to our daily success. Unity. Within our collective and within ourselves. Jesus said (not Abraham Lincoln), a house divided cannot stand. Division on the inside is a powerful destroyer. Please take a look at our country. It will be spoken that our state of the inion is strong. That’s a lie. It is not. And we are crumbling from within. It’s not an outside force that divides us. It’s all from within.
3) For Nehemiah, as though he needed more conflict, the enemies of the Jews were not the only ones causing trouble. Even the “non-enemies” of the Jews, who claim to have no great connections with the enemies, were sharing disturbing news with people. Those who appear uninvolved can still be involved. So, we need to watch and pray. And guard the low and exposed places.

This 30-minutes is all about:
A) Ukraine is at the forefront of most people's minds.
B) Our wonderful brother Sergio asks a solid question about why God allowed Satan and evil to exist. Yep, you can ask questions too.
C) How do the out of control events of the world show that God is in control? I don't know. But God does. And in spite of the demonic governments and educational institutions (The Beast?) and in spite of the lying media (The False Prophet?). God rules in the affairs of men. Not in some affairs. In ALL the affairs.

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) We often think of covenants as a two-sided agreement, contract or testament. That makes sense. Here’s the problem; we are super duper lousy at keeping covenants, especially with God. And He knows that. That’s why the New Testament involves Jesus. Because we need help on “our” side of things. But it’s not a new principle. It turns out that God coordinated the same thing with Abraham and again with king David.
2) Politics make me all warm inside. Just like the feeling I get before I throw up. But there are “crossovers” between the kingdom of God and the ruling affairs of mankind. It’s pretty simple. God is ALWAYS in charge, despite what liberals or conservatives, capitalists or socialists, democrats or republicans think or say. People just think they are in control. Primarily because people are dumb. But Kingdom Kids should be using one tactic for consistent crossovers. It’s called…PRAYER.
3) Here’s a brain-buster. Only God can forgive sins. So, hold on to your hats and your bonnets. I’m not done. God forgives sins. People forgive sins. God can forgive anyone. We can forgive the sins of those who hurt us. But we can’t dismiss the sins of those who are completed disconnected or detached from us.
Only God can do that. Exactly.

This 30-minutes is all about:
A) How do we respond to a person who desires to destroy us? Call CNN and Fox News. The principle is to not react with the same spirit.
B) Go the extra mile without being coerced to do so. Instead, do it because you know that God is watching the whole scene unfold.
C) Radical faith calls us to “think differently” than the world or the flesh. Following Jesus means we win…but in the end!
D) How do we love our enemies? Jesus said to “Pray FOR them.” The problem is that we don’t do this for our neighbors, let alone our enemies.

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) The difference between knowing God and knowing of God is the difference between living in an awesome eternity and an awful eternity. Jesus said, “On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ 23 But I will reply, ‘I never knew you.”
2) Sometimes, judgment from God comes at times that people would not expect. For the children of Israel, God DELAYED His judgment against the sins of King Saul, and it manifested during the reign of King David. God is a God of holiness, righteousness, and justice. And He makes right that which was wrong, but it sure can come at a weird time.
3) Legalistic Larry. Dogmatic Debbie. These are the people that didn’t like Jesus. Oh, they loved their religion. But they didn’t like Jesus because He didn’t fit into their system. It sure is good that we don’t have these people in OUR church. There are no legalisms in the church we go to, even if we have our own church's ten commandments. After all, we have to maintain standards. Just as long as their OUR standards.

Monday Funday! Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 30-minutes is all about:
A) Did you see Jesus at the time of His resurrection? No. But you still love Him with all your heart. How? By faith!
B) There are times when things are kind of tricky. But, somehow, there is a joy unspeakable and full of glory amid these moments.
C) The end of our faith. Yes, there is an end. No, it’s not about the journey, especially if you end up in hell. But a cool eternity is the goal.

Monday Funday! Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) The Bible is the great equalizer. Everyone is a sinner. Men and women. In the scriptures, God uses men and women. It gets old hearing about how the Bible is more favorable to men. Eve was a major player. Sarah, Rebekah, and Rachel were significant in biblical drama. Miriam was a leader, Debra was a leader, Martha and Mary we involved in the Gospel. And without Mary, we have an issue. So, it shouldn’t surprise ANYONE when God uses women to make the kingdom happen.
2) Mocking is one of the great promises for the believer. How exciting. It happened in the Old Testament and was promised in the New. “God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers (Matt. 5:11).” They mocked Israel for being poor, weak, and a different RACE. Christians are from another Seed. And indeed a unique RACE.
3) And what do we do when we are in the middle of a project? We recognize the progress that has been made instead of complaining about the place that we are not. We celebrate our progress, whether it’s vast or tiny. Three steps forward and two steps backward is still NET one step. Appreciate the advancements. And recognize that the finished picture we think we see is incomplete. But God’s portraits are a Master-piece.

This 30-minutes is all about:
A) He is not some religious figure that cannot relate to us. On the contrary, He loves us so much that He became one of us.
B) Tempted in every way? Is that true? Perhaps there is wisdom in that the temptations mentioned regarding Jesus were not ALL of them.

Super Show! Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) You have heard me say that left to our own devices, despite what the lying politicians and the lying media say, we would destroy ourselves. For those who disagree, you just called Jesus, a liar. But the world is NOT in charge; God is. He won’t allow deranged people (or any other outside forces) to destroy the earth one second before He determines it to be so. He controls all things for the sake of His own.
2) We briefly examine two legends of the Old Testament. We capture their images in our minds because of how they handled their situations when the odds were against them. Our first example had to rely on a pile of rocks when facing a giant. The other example is an unlikely hero who God kept gutting his supplies. And then God commanded Him to get the job done anyway. Seems impossible…on purpose.
3) ) Oh my. There is so much going on. How will we keep track of it all? We can make a priority list to keep everything in line. That’s right; we need to keep our ducks in a row. After all, someone has to carry the water. What do you mean by “relax?” Would Jesus say such a rude thing? He did? Well, I’m not sure what He meant by that, but I sure do identify with Martha. She was a hard worker, just like me.

This 30-minutes is all about:
A) Like the bunny rabbit in Monty Python, run away…run away. That’s how we should respond to apparent evil.
B) God is a God of peace (not war, as the world tries to claim). That’s His title. He owns Mankind’s peace.
