Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain (Psalm 127:1). Labor that people engage with has to be directed, approved, or permitted by God. Period. If God says no, then the answer is no. Ask all the people who tried to build the Tower of Babel how that went. God may permit something, but if He is opposed, the project is dead on arrival. That’s true in every realm, including the spiritual.
2) On the flip side, if something that seems humanly insignificant is in God’s architectural plans, it’s going to happen. Maybe it’s water out of a rock. Perhaps it’s a sea that God wants people to walk down the middle of. And maybe it’s an insignificant Carpenter who lives a perfect life and develops a movement without any weapons of human warfare. His Kingdom is STILL growing 2000 years later. Is there something small that God is growing in you? Despise not the day of small things.
3) The conclusion of the leaders of Israel was to have the disciples beaten. Yes, they had “that level” of power. They wanted to kill the disciples but settled for a pound of flesh and a rebuke, to which the disciples already said they would not honor. Then, the disciples called CNN and Fox News and went on the radio to tell everyone how unjust this situation was. Or did they?

This 60-minutes is all about:
1) Certain principles within the Christian Faith are phenomenal. Grace, mercy, love, forgiveness, redemption, healing, safety, faith, hope, and so much more. And then other principles in the Christian faith somewhat make us want to scratch our eyes out. No principle is more complicated than this one; WE are not in control. Over our flesh, yes! Over our universal events, not even close.
2) Formulas can be a funny thing in the faith. Some are goofy because they become the ONLY way for people to function. Other formulas are entrenched in the examples of the people of God that we sometimes just plain forget to operate in. The Israelites had several hiccups in their journeys. But, they had substantial victories too. We examine their path.
3) Do you ever feel like you are facing giants? Do you tend to sense that the odds are against you? It’s incredible to think that this type of circumstance can be by Divine design. We need to understand that God will, and often does, make it impossible in the view of the human eye. But in the eye of faith, a new picture emerges. It’s a portrait of unlimited possibilities. And it’s how God wants us to see it. It’s how we are encouraged to see all of life.

1) There is so much news. Too much news. People have been hanging on to “the latest news” like a baby loves a bottle. That’s not new. The Jewish people were hammered with bad news about their oppressive Roman government and the government’s demands regarding their faith. In the middle of that, Jesus brought a different kind of news. News that centered on God.
2) Even the best of us blows it every so often. Kind David had his colossal mistake, but he also made other goof-ups. We examine when David’s personal feelings became more important than the welfare of his people. We don’t deny our feelings as Christians. But we don’t let them guide the way, especially when they are more connected to our flesh.
3) We offer another devotional from our beloved friend, Pastor Ray Bentley. His graceful ministry has blessed all of us. We praise God for Ray’s heart. This devotional is true to wisdom as Ray reviewed the great battlefield of every true believer. It lives in the region between the left and the right. Not politics, silly. It’s the left and right ears of people. Unfortunately, that is where daily Armageddon happens.

A) Welcome to 1st Peter. The epistle for the believers who need to be “pumped up.” You look marvelous.
B) I could sure use life protection. How about you? Better than insurance is the protection plan that comes from God Himself.
C) The salvation to be revealed is not sanctification. Oy vey, NO! It’s glorification when your mortal puts on immortality…on streets of gold!
D) In this rejoice, even though for a little bit, things kind of feel like YUCKY YUCK BOO BOO.

The David Spoon Experience Part 2 2-7-22

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) Nehemiah moved his vision and what the Lord put on his heart into the public forum. He demonstrates an amazing amount of wisdom as he first presents the problem. The city was traumatized, and the gates were burned down. This is the problem. The way the city presented itself was a mess. Like any city, any county, any state, or country. When things are a mess, it’s all too easy to see, even if the emperor is, in reality, naked.
2) The answer to the problem for a broken community, a broken city, a broken country is biblically straightforward: REBUILD THE WALLS. I know, and I don’t care if this is a political issue. God doesn’t care if it’s a human political issue either. BUILD THE WALLS. To just make sure we all understand, God’s solution for Israel to get itself reestablished was to BUILD THE WALLS.
3) After identifying the problem and then offering a solution, Nehemiah proceeds to explain that God is with them in this task. Identify the problem. Offer a solution. And keep in mind that God shows Himself as a part of this rebuilding. That’s the biblical approach to problem-solving, just like repenting for our sins, being baptized, and following Jesus.

This 30-minutes is all about:
A) Don’t stifle the Spirit. Do not quench, do not extinguish, do not restrict, do not cut the flow of the Holy Spirit.
B) Don’t despise prophecies. No, it’s not talking about showboat ministries. But, yes, the Bible is speaking of foretelling and forth-telling.
C) Test everything. How? There is the Holy Spirit and the gift of discernment. A long-lost gift in the church today. And there is a book that helps us understand what is okey-dokey and what is not.

This 60-minutes is all about:
1) Even after being threatened by the leaders of their community, the Apostles are able to slip in a Gospel witness within two sentences. Jesus was raised from the dead, God allowed Jesus to die for our sins, and God exhaled Jesus. He is the Savior. It wasn’t the best theological exegetical declaration. Well, by human standards anyway.
2) To GIVE two significant keys: Repentance and Forgiveness. This is not a new formula or the only formula. And let’s be honest; some formulas include other outward actions, but not in “this” declaration. That’s not the only major catch in these passages. We examine how repentance and forgiveness are GIVEN to people. Because without the gift of God giving this, there is “none” of this. God gives the repentance, so waiting to repent just before you die will not work.
3) Wowzers! The Apostles give the Gospel presentation to their religious opponents in a quick fashion. And then, they make the declaration that they are witnesses of these truths. Then they make sure that the people know that the Holy Spirit is a witness to these truths. While the theology is incredible, the practical is even better. We are in a partnership with God in the Gospel. How cool is that?

The David Spoon Experience Part 1 2-2-22

This 30-minutes is all about:
A) One of my favorite Psalms, Number 16, is “in the house.”
B) As David had a passion for believers and their excellence, he also had disgust for non-believers who were idolators, worshipping false gods.
C) God Himself is our portion. He keeps our promises “intact” and safe. The phrase “lot” means lines from the Promised Land.
D) The “lines” also mean the boundaries of the Promised Land. The promises and inheritance from God are pleasant and good.

The David Spoon Experience Part 2 2-2-22

This 60-minutes is all about:
1) We step into territory that some would prefer we would not. But if we did everything everybody else everybody wanted, then we wouldn’t be living for Jesus, would we? Healing. Isn’t all healing, in every form, truly from the God of Life? Of course, it is. Even if the Lord doesn’t get the proper honor. Remember the ten lepers? Ten were healed, but Jesus was only acknowledged by one.
2) When the Bible refers to the elders praying for the sick, and the prayer of faith will heal the sick, we can understand that God is STILL in the healing business (James 5:15). Healing isn’t a human show. Healing is a Divine statement for the moment. What is God saying? “I am here …right now.”
3) Number one, no person does the “actual” healing. Just like no person does the “actual” saving of a soul. So, the real question is whether Jesus still heals today. YES. He does. In the spiritual, physical, emotional, and psychological realm. And in other areas as well. Does everyone always get healed? Not for Paul. Not Oral Roberts. Not for me. And not for you. But YES, for God! People are ALWAYS healed whenever the Lord says YES! It has always been, always is, and always will be…up to Him!

This 30-minutes is all about:
A) To the FIRST Book of the New Testament. This Gospel was written for the Jewish people. To the Jew first, and then…
B) Let’s start with the basics: Remarriage is not a sin. It is clearly spelled out in the Old Testament. Also, what about forgiveness?
C) Marriage, after a divorce, “can be” a sin, but it is NOT always a sin. It depends on the reason and…YES…the timing of the divorce.
D) Inside of all of this is a bizarre twist on the qualifications for an Elder. Not too many people are going to like what it REALLY says!
