Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) Every once in a while, it appears to be a good idea that acting with kindness towards other people is nice. This is because one of the fruits (Yes, we would say fruits, as in plural, because the Greek word is plural and is called a plural tantum) of the Holy Spirit is kindness. So, when we are kind to others and even to ourselves, we are connecting to the Spirit. On top of that, being kind to others mirrors how Jesus often engaged with people. No, not every person. But indeed, with many (Acts 10:38).
2) How awesome are the things that the Lord has bestowed upon us. How blessed and fortunate we are for the things the Lord has sent in our direction. And here is a wonderful truth; God does NOT bestow and bless and send great things into our lives so that we can celebrate them by ourselves. The reality is that we are stewards of the gifts of God. And these gifts are for the blessings of others as well as ourselves.
3) We offer another devotional from our beloved friend, Pastor Ray Bentley. Sometimes, these devotionals are simple. At other times, they are more complex. Sometimes they are easy. At other times, they can be difficult. Today’s devotional review is entitled “Difficult Peace,” which should communicate that this will be easy. But then again, not so easy. Oy vey. Is it Friday yet? Yes. Yes, it is. Thank God, it’s Friday.

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 30-minutes is all about:
A) No evil for evil means no retaliation is permitted. If God retaliated towards you and me, we would be vaporized. Try to pursue the things that are good for others.
B) Rejoice every so often. Or rejoice when things are great. Or rejoice when you want to. Unfortunately, all of these are wrong.
C) Pray constantly. Be thankful constantly. Gee…I wonder if these two principles are connected? Wait a minute; they are? Who knew?

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) The religious leaders, akin to our political leaders, were the group in charge under the occupation of the Romans. They may have had moments of clarity and spirituality, but these faded over time. Before Jesus was born, the leaders had become corrupted and polluted, dishonest and the children of the father of lies. In addition, they were greedy and power-hungry. Who does this sound like in America today?
2) Guess why they were mad at the apostles and the people of God? Was it because the apostles and their followers were evil? No. Was it because the apostles and their followers were power-hungry? No. Was it because the apostles and their followers were less jerky than they were? Maybe. Could it be because they were jealous? And bingo was his name-o.
3) So, the political powers that be ordered that the apostle be tossed in jail. They had that kind of power. And how did God respond to the political powers tossing His followers in jail? He sent an angel and freed them. God made it clear these leaders are leading contrary to His plans. I wonder how many religious leaders think of this portion of scripture when it comes to them trying to guilt people into obeying the worldly and fleshly powers? We already know the answer. Not too many!

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) We have discussed the Favor (which is Justification), The Fight (which is Sanctification), and The Future (which is Glorification). These are the three tenses of salvation. To miss this is to misuse or abuse a multitude of scriptures and develop lousy theologies. Do not miss that salvation is past, present, and future.
2) Having said all that and knowing that I wrote one of my master's theses on this very point, we examine the middle one. Not the finger, but the theology. It has to do with the struggle that exists inside of us believers, as the Apostle Paul mentioned when he wrote, For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit. The desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other.
3) There is a difference between position and practice. There is a difference between Divine declaration and earthly manifestation. A perfect example is understanding the penalty of the Law. Jesus came and set us free from the penalty of the Law, which is death. But as we witness, the earthly manifestation has not been fully realized, or Christians would not die. Positionally, all good. But practically, we need to learn that patience is not just for doctors.

This 30-minutes is all about:
A) Who may abide (or live, or dwell) in God's presence: Which is what the tabernacle and the hill represent. Not Everyone or Anyone.
B) In the Old Testament, when there is a call for walking flawlessly, it does not pertain to personal perfection but integrity.
C) David offers three positive attributes followed by three negative attributes. The positive is directed towards the self, while the negative is directed towards the neighbor.
D) Dont be bribed, because of we are, that becomes our "value."

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 30-minutes is all about:
A) To the FIRST Book of the New Testament. This Gospel was written for the Jewish people. To the Jew first, and then…
B) The Scriptures in the Old Testament (Exodus 20:14 and Deuteronomy 5:18) and the New Testament (Matthew 5:27) teach us not to commit adultery.
C) Adultery is mentioned in each of the four Gospels and over 30 times in the New Testament.
D) Therefore, it may be a good idea to understand what adultery is. And it may also be a good idea to understand what adultery is not.
E) How does temptation play in this?

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) There is a great clue in the scriptures. It gives us a map of how we should approach our God-given assignment for His kingdom. We have a course to finish that God has laid out for us (see Hebrews 12:1). We have a ministry to finish that God has laid before us. It is not for self-glory. In truth, it is the exact opposite.
2) How many times has someone claimed to be “The One.” So many people have come, are coming, and will come in the name of God. So many people have proclaimed to be the answer, the key, or the enlightened one. And there are many people (more than less) that will be on the road to destruction. It’s a BIG road.
3) As I write this, I contemplate the passing away of my friend, Pastor Ray. Anybody who has listened to the show for a little while has heard me encourage the devotional book he wrote, entitled “This Day.” There is a link to it on our website. The bottom line is that Pastor Ray wrote a devotional about moving on. We review it while we heed the wisdom that comes from it.

This 30-minutes is all about:
A) We who have believed; Enter! Because we believe God is not angry with us. And the Lord has all His works lined up, without any misses.
B) For some to enter in is a great way to understand that the rest that comes from God is NOT granted to everyone.
C) A wonderful caller asks about salvation and prayer. Are they or "can" they be connected? David Responds.

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) I was a very bad student in my earliest school days. I wouldn’t listen. I would keep looking around the room at different things, looking at the clock on the wall, and counting the seconds until the bell rang for either lunch, recess, or the close of the school day. But at some point, the teacher would notice my excessive wanderings and then say, “Mr. Spoon, please pay attention.” She was trying to get me to pay attention and to drift less. That’s the way it goes between God and us.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
2) Being a Jewish Christian, I have a wee bit of diversity. I am a Baptist, a Pentecostal, and a child of the highest God. I have a multitude of ordinations from different denominations and education from different denominations. I am well aware that the body of Christ is wide. The way in is narrow. It is ONLY through Jesus. But once in the kingdom, there is a great deal of territory and diversity. And if I were to despise those who truly call on His name, I would be a child of shame.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
3) So often, the tougher encouragements for people center around two major principles: The feelings that accompany personal loss and the grief that accompanies suffering. These experiences are not foreign to Jesus. He knew them well. So, in His infinite wisdom, He pours His wisdom into the Word. We examine this advice from God.

This 30-minutes is all about:
A) We need to give recognition to those who work hard for us, support us, and take the time to admonish us.
B) While holding our leaders in high regard, here’s a critical warning: Don’t forget that our best leaders are sinners who Jesus has saved. They are still human.
C) Then the Apostle Paul gives four quick instructions in dealing with each other. They are not meant to be legalistic. But they are Spirit-led.

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) In the days of our youth if you were a typical child or teenager, we would see just how much we could get away with regarding our parents and their knowledge, punishment and swiftness to catch us. But now that we are grown up, or better said, some people still play this game now that we are older. They play this game with God. News Flash! We will get away with exactly zero. So, why test the Spirit of the Lord?
2) We often talk about fear in the Bible. One fear robs life and another fear of honor, respect, and appreciation that we should have before the Lord. But let’s not be unaware that the Lord drops the Holiness-Hammer from time to time, and our response should be steeped in maturity. An overwhelmingness emits from God when His judgment falls around us will produce a holy tremble. And rightly so. It’s holy ground.
3) What is the result of God dropping His judgment on Ananias and Sapphira? People were more careful about joining the church. But wait, don’t we want anybody to join from anywhere? No. If people join the church like they join a country club, for the benefits and advantages, it is the Lord who will respond. He’s not looking for half-hearted followers or pretenders. That makes Him nauseous. He’s looking for the real deal.

A Tribute to Pastor Ray Bentley: Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 30-minutes is all about:
A) none does good (Romans 3); Why? Because they don't call upon the Lord.
B) From this place of "people are not basically good" comes the reason; they don't call upon the Lord.
C) God restores His chosen people's lost (or stolen) prosperity. And our ultimate deliverance is our reason to rejoice.
