Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) First, let’s acknowledge that there may be a reason if you are listening to this show right now. I don’t know what it is. But God does. MAYBE He wants to say or share something specific with you. Maybe He wants to encourage you. Or maybe He wants to use the show to put you in a state of stagnation for some purpose. Whatever His purpose is, it’s your responsibility to pay attention and respond to His leading. So, the onus is on you. Hah.
2) We examine one of the greatest texts regarding the birth of Jesus Christ, written about 750 years before Jesus was born. Let’s see; if we go back 750 years, it would be 1370 A.D. That should help us understand, a little bit, this duration of time covered by God in these prophecies. And every one of these prophecies, fulfilled. All of that to say, the future promises connected to the birth of Jesus are fantastic-o.
3) Nevertheless, is a great way to say, “I don’t care. So, nanny-nanny boo-boo.” The bottom line is that irrespective of what life brings, God presents great and precious promises to all who look to Him, long for Him, love Him, and want more of Him. The most important truth to grasp is what sets these promises in motion. The activity that sets these promises into action is the birth of Jesus Christ.

This 60-minutes is all about:
1) In the beginning, God knew what He was doing. God is omniscient. He is all-knowing. There is nothing that God does not understand. That is indisputable when it comes to the people. He is our Creator and knows all of our good and bad. Because He knows who we are, how we operate, and where we fail, He knew what to do, knows what to do, and will always know what to do to save us.
2) Loneliness is a real experience. Jesus expressed His connection to it while He was on the cross and quoting Psalm 22, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me.” People can experience loneliness even amid a crowd. Because He relates to us, He wants us to be free from the heaviness and the pain of loneliness. He stands by, just waiting for us to respond to Him.
3) We examine the Song of Zechariah. There are five key components that we focus on—the father of John the Baptist prophecies regarding the forerunning ministry of his son. Since Johnny B preceded Jesus, in both the physical and the spiritual, what his dad has to say about Jesus and His impact on humanity is of considerable importance. And of course, because it’s about the Gospel, it’s GOOD NEWS. This Good News is how the truth about Christmas should be realized.

A) To the FIRST Book of the New Testament. This Gospel was written for the Jewish people. To the Jew first, and then…
B) There is not one period or crossing of a “t” that will be eliminated from God’s truth. The earth will pass away first.
C) People, who are believers, will teach some off-target things. BAD TEACHING IS NOT FALSE TEACHING.
D) Called great. Not the greatest. That’s reserved for Jesus. But these verses make clear. Equality will not exist in heaven. Don’t like that? Then, don’t go.

This 60-minutes is all about:
1) Is it O.K. that Jesus called people clueless? That’s what He did. He said directly to the Sadducees, haven’t you read but the answer was already implied in the question because they did not read. And because they did not read, they did not believe. The key to remember is that God is God of the past, the future, and the present.
2) We talked about Ananias and Sapphira this week and how important it is to be real as Christians. But, there’s another danger alongside this. It’s trumpeting ourselves in a fleshly self-promotion way. Too often, this is because of pride and arrogance, the same sin that was in the garden. Do this, and people will be so impressed with you. You will be like God. It was a lie then. It’s a lie now. There is only ONE …and we are not it!
3) Finally, back to our great friend, Pastor Ray, as we try Ray on another day. That’s a joke, I say. Because we don’t need a special day to review Pastor Ray. Any day is a good day for Pastor Ray and what he has to say. That’s because Pastor Ray is much better than A-O-K. He is a blessing in every way. And that helps us say, “Thank you, Pastor Ray, Thank you.” O.K.?

A) Welcome to 1st Peter. The epistle for the believers who need to be “pumped up.” You look marvelous.
B) We start with a wee bit of introduction. But don’t fret. The Word, and what it actually says, takes precedent.
C) Consider Peter. Involved with everything. Including failure. We need to hear what he has to say.
D) To the elect, God had an election. The results are more permanent than any other countries elections. God voted for YOU!

The David Spoon Experience Part 2 12-20-21

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) The face can tell us so much if we are willing to observe. Our faces carry a message. Why? We communicate with words and with pictures. The adage, a picture is worth a thousand words is worth noting. No, it’s not a Bible verse (Frederick R. Barnard, Printer’s Ink, December 1921). But it is a biblical principle of communication. Think …the book of Revelation.
2) Speaking is the number one fear amongst human beings, thanks to Jesus Christ. Because He brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel (2 Timothy 1:10), the fear of death has lost much of its power. Now speaking is “the” big fear. And many believers are afraid to speak. You are not alone. Nehemiah was afraid to speak. But look how he handled it. It’s good advice for us.
3) One of the coolest teachings is in chapter two of Nehemiah. Remember that Nehemiah prayed to God would give him favor with the king? And when the Lord answers prayer, He doesn’t “just barely” answer it. He answers above and beyond. Now to Him, that is able to do exceedingly abundantly ABOVE all we ask or think… Yes…and Amen!

A) We need to be aware to maintain the faith that we started with. Because if we don't, we will fall short. Ouch.
B) The Gospel, the good news, has been being preached since the very beginning. The problem is people don't recognize it's a message from God.
C) The message they heard didn't help most Israelites at all. Why? Because they didn't unite it with faith. Kind of like the Word of God doesn't help us at all if we don't unite it with faith.

AND: It's amazing to watch television and to listen to the radio and surf the Internet and to be on social media and discover that people are simply trying to trap or entrap one another. That's what the Pharisees tried to do to Jesus. The biggest difference is Jesus didn't care. He never sought to be everyone's favorite, and He never sought to receive approval from others. The scriptures teach that He didn't look at faces.

A) God has made an appointment for us. Nope, it’s not out of His judgment, but He made the appointment out of His love.
B) Whether we are awake or asleep, alive by human standards, or dead by human standards, we live together with Him (Philippians 1:21).
C) Encourage each other, build up each other, and keep it going. Don’t stop thinking about tomorrow.

1) There is a notion that people have no part in the play of human life. Yes, we do. Just because God knows what parts we are going to play doesn’t mean that we are not involved in the drama. We have a multitude of decisions that we have made, are making, and will make. From that angle, from that perspective, we have a form of control. The idea is that these decisions should be made in partnership with God.
2) The Holy Spirit is God. The Father says so, The Son says so. The Spirit says so. The Bible says so. Your Christian journey says so. To the Law and to the testimony (Isaiah 8:20). Without the Holy Spirit, you and I have no eternal life. Born-again…anyone?
3) A first on The David Spoon Experience. Never before has the host of this show read from his own published material. But today will be different. Ma Nishtana? So, buckle up. We will try our best to make this work—oy vey. But I believe that it’s worth the read!

A) The fool has said in his heart; Wait, I thought we couldn’t call someone a fool. What’s the deal?
B) No one who opposes God does any eternal good. Picking up litter is great. But that doesn’t stop that person from going to hell.
C) The Lord looks for people; looks at people to see if anyone understands. People of understanding are people who seek God.
