2 1/2 years in Texas! Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) Peta could stand for People Eating Tasty Animals. Let’s get it straight. Jesus declares the truth about people and animals. And Peta will not like where they end up in this discussion. Jesus died for people. He did not die for dolly the sheep or lamb-chop the puppet. He died for you and me. That’s even more impressive than loving animals because of some people that we know.
2) There are various things that Samuel summarizes for the people of Israel to follow after they received Saul as king. First, they had sinned by asking to be led by a human instead of God. This tells us that God may answer prayer, even if poorly considered, to teach us a lesson. I’ve had that happen to me. But even in that case, God gives us instructions for recovery. We examine what that is.
3) Spiritual tactical strategies are good to know for spiritual warfare. First, we analyze a common spiritual tactic that the devil throws in our direction that we may not be watching for. Then, we address a spiritual tactical response. Applying this approach will help us to prevail against the kingdom of darkness.

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) Let us recognize what the Word of God teaches us: In Peter’s second sermon, he declares that the people did what they did to Jesus because of ignorance. To this, Jesus testified, “Father, forgive them. They know not what they do.” But that does not mean universal salvation. Instead, it means that God understands our ignorance and will allow us to turn.
2) Foretold. Prophecy has two elements; to share the mind of God for the moment and to foretell the future. In this case, we get both. Jesus had to suffer. And that is what the prophets foretold (check out Isaiah 53, Psalm 22 [Jere., Dan., Zach.] for example). And His suffering fulfilled the payments for our sins. Of course, we can reject that testimony. But we own the consequences for our choices.
3) Repent, be converted, sins blotted out, times of refreshing. It all sounds like initial conversion, except for the repent, be converted, have our sins blotted out, and enjoy the times of refreshing part. But, of course, it all comes to the culmination with The Presence of the Lord. After all, that is what Heaven is all about. How about having a little bit of Heaven here on earth, right now?

This 30-minutes is all about:
A) To the Psalms! Psalm 8, the Glory of the Lord, in creation.
B) Top Dog. Head Honcho. The Big Cheese. Humans are awesome, but in the overall universe, we are lower than the angels. Drop the pride.
C) Not being the top dog in the universe also brings the truth that God put everything under us on the earth. THAT is one of the biggest ways that we are made in the image of God (Gen. 1:26A, Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule).

Dave gets personal.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) My brother just shared with me this week a most profound lesson. I somewhat know the lesson, but I also need help with it. He and I have been in ministry for over forty years each. On Monday, he texted me (on Monday) that he is starting to realize that when he has stops trying to do the ministry for God, God starts doing the ministry through him. Hmmm.
2) We need to come to a mature moment. And it is a hard lesson for those of us “so-called” seasoned believers. When we stop, when we die, when we yield, when we surrender, when we submit, THEN (and only then), The best and the purest of the ministry for the kingdom of God shines through us. He must increase. We must decrease.
3) I need an example to walk in the truth that the end of me is the beginning of God. Who in the Bible could illustrate this so that I can get a grip? Who has shown that through the wisdom of meekness, the power of God pours forth? If only there were someone chosen by God, used by God, and loved by God, that I could learn from. What do you mean I should look to the Three Stooges? Which of the Three Stooges has a name similar to the example I should follow? Oh, Mo!

This 30-minutes is all about:
A) The people heard that Jesus could help. Everyone needs help. Point people to Jesus!
B) Suffering: In its various forms, some natural, some demonic, have the SAME (Hebrews 13:8 > Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever) solutions.
C) He healed them. He heals now. He will heal in the future. So, people follow Him. Even if their deliverance takes “God-Time.”

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) Can you hear me? Can you hear yourself? Can you hear God? The worst part about our advanced technology is the disruption of the basic senses. Don’t get weird on me. Tons of our tech is totally cool. Order a pizza with a push of a button. Yes! But one thing suffers greatly. Our ability to listen. And with that loss comes the separation from others.
2) If you have ever watched Mel Brooks, you know it is good to be the king. What is not good is to be the subject of the king. And it’s not good to be subject to a government (which is run by people) or a corporation (which is run by people), or anything else that has its origins on planet earth. But you gotta serve somebody. And if it’s not from planet earth, we had better be choosing wisely.
3) There is an Old Testament and a New Testament. The New is what we operate in now. But there is great wisdom and God’s truth in the Old. So, while we need to know the New inside and out, we need to know the Old so that we don’t get turned right side wrong. There is gold in the Old. Let’s mine it, find it, and use it.

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) If we consider the words of our enemy, the devil, as he tried to prove that Job was an unreliable follower, we find an interesting truth; In Job, 1:10, it reads Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? So even counting all the warfare and the troubles we face, God has an extensive hedge around us. And we have to remember how much DOES NOT get through.
2) And now, Lord, what can we say? As Ezra is praying for Israel and himself, he does not go into self-justification made. He owns the sins of God’s chosen people as his own. A little wisdom for us holy than thou people. This is specifically regarding God’s people. And he lays the problem squarely on the command of God being forgotten or ignored.
3) Every land has a few (even if only a few) righteous and many sinful people in it. For an example, see Sodom and Gomorrah. BUT we need to understand that in the mind of God, defilement of the land is not using its resources. EVER! It is the sinful practice of the people. And being sanctified, or set apart for God, is not allowing the sinful people’s philosophy to be our own. Otherwise, there is no difference. Not good.

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) Too often, we find ourselves at war within ourselves. And there is a part of us that operates in the form of despair. That is the new us fighting against the old us. It is not exclusive to the New Testament. It’s just that now, we have more wisdom and better tools to fight it. Can you say Jesus is our hope? You better.
2) The biblical version of commend is to entrust for protection. We are commended to God. That means that we are entrusted to God for His protection. And we are also commended to God’s Word of Grace. It’s not to His Word of discouragement. In truth, the Word helps build us up, give us an inheritance, and set us apart from the world’s judgment.
3) We review our good friend Joseph. A man who did no wrong was falsely accused, despised, and forgotten. Wouldn’t it be awesome to be like Joseph? You may be thinking, that doesn’t sound too cool. But remember what God did: in everything Joseph went through, God was for him and rescued him from his troubles. How does that sound?
Plus, a country and 9-11 prayer.
