1) There is great power in where we come from, our heritage. There is great power in the land that we live in, our culture. And then the Lord gives us great power personally. So we can choose to follow the past, the land, or the Lord. Whatever pleases us. But we bear the consequences of our decisions.
2) One of the truths that must be taught and cannot be ignored. God wants everyone to be saved, but not everyone will be saved. No, God doesn't always get what He wants. He wants us to be just like Jesus. But we know we fall short. He wants every family member in our households to be saved, but they won't all be saved (and it's a NO-GO on Acts 16).
3) It's time to return to the wisdom of an old friend. We examine a devotion from our brother, Pastor Ray. He dives into the disease of worry and how often we layout a nice table for it and invite it to live in our lives. Some dinner guests should NOT be invited in. There is a proper time to shut the door.

The David Spoon Experience Part 2 8-12-21

Welcome to the 90-minute show of The David Spoon Experience.
This 60-minutes is all about:
1) The leaders of the new church went together to the temple. The first recorded activity (after an extremely successful mission for the kingdom) is praying together. They are setting an example for the people of God to follow. This is likely not a 120 second prayer time. Maybe some people (and some churches) should go to the bank, take out a loan, and buy a clue.
2) A certain man was lame from his mother's womb. Right away, people with limited perspectives would try to assess what happened to him. This is just like the apostolic Q and A in John 9. Why did this happen? It has nothing to do with "the why or why not" but "the what for."
3) This lame man made his living by asking for alms. Alms are donations, charities, or handouts. He begged. Here's the problem; God is about to change his routine. And it happens without a great deal of preparation. This shows why we should "always be ready" to receive from God. He gives, even when we don't know what's coming.

This 60-minutes is all about:
1) People that prevail in the Kingdom of God are not people that live in denial. And denial is not just a river in Egypt. Afflictions happen to all of humanity, the righteous and the wicked alike. The difference is for the authentic believer; God connects with us and journies with us through the difficulties.
2) It is hard to imagine that we could be appreciative of God during difficult situations. It is even hard to imagine that we could be boastful of God's plan during these difficult situations. It is even hard than that to imagine that we could be pleased with God's plan during these difficult situations.
3) What shall we say to all these things…or towards anything? How about this; if God is for us, who can be against us, and who cares? On a two-sided issue, anyone who is for God's side wins. And anyone whom God is for wins. And anyone who doesn't understand why we should be continually thank you isn't getting it. God is worthy of our praise, with, in, and for anything and everything.

This 60-minutes is all about:
1) Smooth operator. Yep, that was a shaving commercial. And that makes sense because the smooth speakers have an unearthly ability to turn wicked people away from God's covenant and turn those people into greater godlessness. Uh oh.
2) Have you ever felt like you were operating at a deficit? I know I have. But that's okey-dokey (a theological term). Perhaps you are not the wisest person around. Nor am I. Nor are most of us. Perhaps you are not the most powerful person around. Nor am I. Nor are most of us. But that's just the way that God wants it.
3) Charlie says, "love mt good and plenty." Charlie says, "It really rings a bell." There are too many moments when we think that it's all about what we can bring to the table. That's wrong. It's just coming to the table that counts. For the rest of what is needed, God will provide. And he comes behind no one. And nothing!

1) Set apart. That is how we can truly understand "holy." No, we don't fully grasp the Divine perspective because we are barely Divine, and only through Jesus. But separated for God ...in our time, in our words, and our actions are getting closer. Not like a monk, but like a disciple of Christ.
2) Stewardship. Another long-lost art and discussion. How important is it? Well, after you answer God regarding where your righteousness comes from (and it can only come from Jesus), then God will ask us (according to the teachings of Jesus) how we did with what He gave us. Uh oh.
3) Have we accepted the testimony from God regarding Jesus Christ? Have we accepted Jesus as our Savior? Have we accepted Jesus as our Lord? Have we accepted His tasks for us to build His kingdom? Any NO answers are going to prove to be ...eternal troubles.

2) Too many things have happened that have drained the life out of us. These things that have exhausted us need to be handled with wisdom. So hear this advice: Take your past owies, find a nice deep trash basket, and act as an NBA star. Slam-dunk the past, in the history bin.
3) Amazingly enough, many groups of less than perfect people offer many different versions of the truth. However, NONE OF THEM said what the Savior said; He said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. Drop the mic.
