The David Spoon Experience 12-12-19

After a freak power outage Dave comes back super strong on the expository Thursday on The David Spoon Experience. He dives into Ephesians, chapter 3, and the three prayers that Paul offers at the end of the chapter. He covers the release of the Spirit in our lives, the love of Jesus Christ, and the desire to know our Heavenly Father even more than we do. Dave lays it down by saying that God can do more than we ask or imagine and ...sometimes ...we have to just go big and believe God for miracles. Dave also spends some time on making sure people understand the Christianity is not just a religious text or a religion, but a dynamic living relationship with a living God made possible by the redeeming work of Jesus Christ and facilitated by the activity of the Holy Spirit.

O Yes he Did! Dave breaks the chain, and teaches his first Biblical Character Review. !st up, Barnabas...who was so cool that the Apostles called him...Barnabas (his given name was Joseph). His apostolic name means Mr. Encouragement! Now, how cool is that. Dave covers 8 characteristics of Barnabas, 6 very very good, one fair, and one not real great. The key is for every Christian to get a grip that we do good, but sometimes...we mess up. But the mess up DOES NOT...NOT...NOT...negate the good, "contrary" to the world's way of thinking (Hebrews 6:10).

Johnny and Dave talk about the blessedness of not seeing...but believing...and still receiving...and still, being blessed because we believe without seeing. Johnny then talks about being prepared daily, early, and properly. And finally Dave proves how the Gospels demonstrate that they are 4 encounters with Jesus and not just history books.

Expository Thursday...on Thursday, two weeks in a row...it's a Christmas miracle. Dave walks us through Ephesians 3, where Paul talks about believing for better things, in spite of his own prison circumstances. The Dave shows us the SURRENDER that is demonstrated by kneeling before the Lord. He weaves and bobs as he points out that our Heavenly Dad's in charge, and we are not. Finally, Dave examines Paul's desire for you and I to be filled with strength and power. But this only happens as we filled with the Holy Spirit!

AMAZING! Dave throws out three trivia questions and the audience throws back three answers. Then Dave shares his devotions from today, which are found in John 20. First up is examining that Mary Magdalene, though a believer, still needed to look inside the tomb. Why Because there is more in our faith than we think. And the next level is fantastic. Next is the reality that Mary cried and wept that Jesus' body was stolen. But ...it wasn't. So those tears, while real, we not based in actuality. Then Dave talks about the call of Jesus to us...as individuals. He calls our name ("Mary") and we respond "Master"...and that's how we get saved. His sheep...know His voice! Finally, Dave prayers for believers and unbelievers alike/ God call su to fellowship with Him...but do we answer the call?

Wowzer Bowzer is not just the name of a Shanana singer. Johnny Hill branches out and shares the show with David. They talk about projects and people starting with the Holy Spirit, but ending up in the Flesh, just like the Galatians (Galatians 3). Johnny gives a "wicked" example. Plus two $25 trivia challenges are presented to the audience. Then Dave talks about persistent prayer and prayer that assumes God is a jerk or the Grinch. Both of these mindsets are wrong...and sinful. Johnny and Dave close the show by talking about the tension between the Spiritual and the Secular.

Dave talks about the family trials and tribulations for Easton Scott and the Schiller and Spoon families. Then he reviews Pastor Ray's take on Mary's responsive spirit to God's working. Do we say "be it unto me Lord" like she did? And finally, the mighty Psalm 18...which communicates in a vivid picture how God feels about our troubles. Could it be that this is true? YES!

The David Spoon Experience 11-27-19

It's Expository Thursday, on Wednesday. Now that's more like it. Dave "gets into" the COOLEST part of Ephesians in Chapter 3, verses 7-11. First up is Paul's recognition that all the grace we see in god's servants and in one another comes from God's POWER. That's why it should be easier for us to be humble. Next, Paul identifies that his 2 big points of ministry are bring Gentiles to the Faith, and making God's purposes plain. But, Fer-sure, the most incredible part of our walk is that we are the vehicle by which God demonstrates His wisdom to rulers and the powers of Heaven. We ARE on stage, all the time, every day, every hour, and every moment. YES...Someone IS watching you!

We need two hours of TDSE, especially when there's a show like today.To start off with, Dave talks about the incredibly selfless actions of Jesus when He is arrested. To consider it is to see His love for us...in action. Next, the observations in our mirrors...are NOT as they appear. Why? Because God does things...differently. Then, a fresh look at the Deity of the Holy Spirit, in ANOTHER undeniable text, in which we may get a grip and draw closer (2 Corinthians 13:14). And finally, Dave talks about the prophetic declarations of the wars against Jesus Christ and His followers. That means YOU!
