Expository Morey time. Which means more expository on chapter one, of The Epistle to the Ephesians. On today's show, Dave tackles Paul's prayer, after showing that we are saved, by the Father, by the Son, and by the Spirit. Paul talks about giving thanks for the these dear believers in his prayers, something we should all do on a regular basis. Then Paul pivots into telling the church at Ephesus that he's praying that they would know God more and more. Epi-gnosis is a word that means to know by experience as well as knowledge. This is what Paul was praying that this happens to the Ephesians. And also that they may know the hope, riches, and inheritance they have in Christ.

Dave looses his mind as he takes on The Democrats, who "do" worship at the alter of Moloch in their support of murderous abortion. And firing Todd Starnes won't justify Fox News disrespect for Bible Believers. He talks about the INSANITY that Christians don't speak for God. Try reading 2 Corinthians 5:17-20, where we find out that believers are ambassadors for Christ. An ambassador speaks on the behalf of. In deep frankness, Dave talks about the moment of Jesus' crucifixion, and that moment of "no words, no sign" from the Father. Then a "new" take on a leadership classic. The Spoon-man rearranges how we should see mission, purpose, and vision. How can they be exclusive and inclusive at the same time? Dave shows us how.

Dave talks about his best friend and wife becoming a power prayer. From a theology sense, we know that are saved. BUT, we are also sinners. So...we are either sin-heads or sinners saved. Then Dave explores why Christians go along with the world by focusing on the 2 mistakes of a believer versus the 98 great things from the same believer. That perspective, focusing on the failures, is NOT Biblical. Finally, is it possible for the message to be greater than the messenger, or are the historical (not Biblical) quotes more accurate?

The David Spoon Experience 10-1-19

Dave tears apart John 5 as he breaks down the experience that the invalid had at the Pool of Bethesda. First, the man is challenged by Jesus to see if he really wants to be healed. Many people are so used to their infirmities that they really don't want big changes. Next Dave shows that Jesus tells the man that he "can" get better, with a change of heart, mind, and action. The Jewish leaders are so mad and blind because Jesus did something nice. Their legalism made them is the miracle. And it's not enough to be touched by Jesus. We need to turn to Him and away from a life of sin in order to have a blessed eternity.

Dave comes out with deep, deep thinking. The Lord cleans it up and then we build on it. Unfortunately, we can build a less than honorable building, from time to time. And what is the Demonic Side to the social gospel?
Also, Dave examines our choices, and how they DO matter, especially to us. Then Dave closes the show by showing that "the anointing" is more than enough.

Back on the air...Dave talks about driving around with his big back window sticker. He drives like he talks...FAST! Praise the Lord, it's expository time. Dave tackles Ephesians 1:13-14 and the engagement that the Holy Spirit brings into pour salvation and into our daily walk. He explains why we need to be "marked" by the Holy Spirit. Then Dave talks about the kind of deposit the Holy Spirit brings us. He points out that if the Spirit is working in us NOW, it proves that there is a LATTER too. Dave closes out with the truth that our redemption is coming soon!

Dave starts the show by taking about how voice recognition doesn't always recognize. Then, he challenges us to be aware of starting strong, but fading fast, like Job. Chapters 1-2 were strong. Chapters 3-31, not so great. The problem is that we often forget the QUALITY of God. There are places to put blame, satan, the world, ourselves, but blaming God is dumb. His way and His work is perfect. And we need to trust Him in that.

So much to discuss, so little time. Dave identifies our chief challenge when we don't have a fixed vision on the Lord during our circumstances. While fear comes in at a close second place, more often "complaining" takes the stage. Isn't it amazing that it only took 3 days for Jesus to go from death to dominion, the same amount of time ti took the children of Israel to forget the biggest miracle EVER! Ross Marchand, from Townhall.com, joins Dave to review the government becoming drug dealers. And we must remember in our microwave society, God can choose the "little by little" method.

Dave blows it...as he was supposed to interview Dr. John Pafford regarding our 21st President Chester Arthur, but Dave lost his contact number. ):
So, forward we go. On 1st base, Dave talks about bitterness blocking our hearing. On 2nd base, is the reality that most of our influencers can't even answer this question: Who is the Lord that I should obey Him? Rounding 3rd base is our understanding that life is a game and the game we should be playing is "RISK" because it involves faith. Heading for home plate is the truth that we all have assignments from the Lord and we need to take hold of that...for which Jesus took hold of us.

As we head to the weekend, Dave waxes philosophical regarding what our thinking should be whenever we share or testify in the name of the Lord. As times get tougher, we seem to get a bit harder. The challenge is to NOT do this with brothers and sisters in the Lord, remembering John 13:35. He then takes a Star Trek twist by considering time. How do you tell time? How does God tell time? Are these even close? And the show closes on seeing the Biblical approach to evaluating our lives, at the end of the journey.

After running late from a traffic jam, Dave jumps into the next teaching of Ephesians by changing lanes into the redemption bought by Jesus. What is redemption...and how much does it cost? The great great lesson of Ephesians is BIGGER than you and I receiving personal blessings. It's the blessings bestowed upon the Human Race. And finally, Dave points out that there are 3 commandments that are the same, in one chapter. Wow! Then that must be pretty important.
