As we head to the weekend, Dave waxes philosophical regarding what our thinking should be whenever we share or testify in the name of the Lord. As times get tougher, we seem to get a bit harder. The challenge is to NOT do this with brothers and sisters in the Lord, remembering John 13:35. He then takes a Star Trek twist by considering time. How do you tell time? How does God tell time? Are these even close? And the show closes on seeing the Biblical approach to evaluating our lives, at the end of the journey.

After running late from a traffic jam, Dave jumps into the next teaching of Ephesians by changing lanes into the redemption bought by Jesus. What is redemption...and how much does it cost? The great great lesson of Ephesians is BIGGER than you and I receiving personal blessings. It's the blessings bestowed upon the Human Race. And finally, Dave points out that there are 3 commandments that are the same, in one chapter. Wow! Then that must be pretty important.

Also, we know that we receive blessings, especially through Jesus, but why are my blessings and your blessings different in many cases? The show closes with a close examination of satan's greatest tool against prayer, and our solution to his interference.

Expository Teaching Day, Expository Teaching Day! Ephesians 1:3-6 is what Dave tears into. He spends a decent amount of time talking about Free Will and Predestination. The biggest problem is that theologians put a "versus" in between those two concepts as opposed to a "with" in the middle. Like God and Man, hence Jesus Christ who is 100% God and 100% Man. He uses 2 Timothy 2:19 to solidify his thoughts. The Dave speaks about adoption and having full rights as God's children. He closes with a summary that it all leads to praise for God's gift of grace.

An acknowledgement of the 18 year anniversary of 9/11. Dave shares his thoughts as he reflects on that tragic day. Goes the little g have more control over us than the big G? What do we do when the government requires us to break the Law of God? We need to obey the Lord...first, foremost, and always. God before sod. Finally, Dave challenges us to be honest in prayer. How honest? Enough to show our vulnerability to God.

This is the Big One. This is the one that Dave has taught for 30 years. If we are sincere servants of the Lord, there are two continual lessons in our future. And Dave breaks them down for us. Those lessons lead somewhere. Where? To the highest call for every true Bible believer in Jesus Christ. Here's the catch: It's MORE important that any ministry that we will ever do ...or ever try. It is the reason...to live.

Praise the Lord, Sampson calls in with a wonderful answer to prayer. Dave breaks down Isaiah 40:31 from an academic point of view. Then Dave pivots to talk about giving freely versus the government taking. The reality is that whether it's corporations or governments, because they are both run by sinful people, they both have heavy pollution in them. Then...he takes on the Left and the Right , by showing that Top Center is wisdom. Finally...Bible Baloney Beat down regarding "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions."

The David Spoon Experience 9-5-19

Expository Teaching Day has arrived. The Book of Ephesians is where TDSE begins. Dave begins with spiritual truth of the outline. Looking at this letter from a helicopter point of view, demonstrates that our position empowers us to walk in our responsibility. And right off the bat, we see Paul knowing who he is in the Lord. The exposition on grace and peace demonstrate that too many believers have received the former, but missed the latter. We, through Jesus, get grace. We also, through Jesus, get peace. But we often miss this.
