1) In Romans Chapter 3, halfway through verse 25, the scripture poses an ironic question: "Was God being entirely fair and just when He did not punish those who sinned in former times?" This question is ironic because God, being the only one who can truly judge sin, determines when and how to punish sin, the duration and impact of the punishment.2) Paul then asserts that God is entirely fair in judging or declaring people to be sinful or not, as He is in charge of that judgment. He also clarifies that God declares those who believe in Jesus to be right in His sight. However, he poses another question: "Can we boast about this?" The answer is no, as acceptance by God is not due to our actions. Therefore, boasting is not permitted.3) Dave explains that our acquittal is not based on good deeds. He emphasizes that the average person sins between 320 and 750,000 times in an 80-year lifetime. He humorously adds that he himself is at the one million plus mark. The bottom line is that no amount of good deeds can ever equal, let alone outweigh, the bad deeds to qualify us before God.4) Our righteousness is not based on our good deeds, our good looks, or anything else. It's based on faith. As stated in Romans 3:28, we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law. Any attempt to add another element to this equation is futile. Faith is the vehicle God has chosen, and without faith, it is impossible to please God.

A) Matthew 17:14 starts the next engagement, with Jesus, Peter, James, and John coming down from the mountain. It’s worth noting that most mountain top moments end. By that, I mean that one must come down from the mountain top. That means that we step back into lower ground. Don’t be surprised that after a worship, holiday, or specialized conference that you and I may feel a little bit of a lowering or a “less than stellar” time. It’s normal. And it can be right after a special moment with the Lord.B) A man, who is desperate for his son to be healed approaches Jesus. He appears to have either desperation, irritation, or both in his speech. He knows his son is suffering. He has seizures. The child is falling into water and fire, which are two extremes, which may give a clue to the origin of the seizures. He brought the child to the disciples, but that didn’t work. People bring their struggles to the church often, BUT sometimes that is insufficient. That doesn’t t make the church bad.

1) Today's teaching picks up at Genesis, Chapter 3, Verse 22. Adam and Eve have sinned, and God has meted out the penalties for their rebellion. God then declares that mankind has now entered into a new realm of knowing good and evil, having eaten from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This means that both good and bad will be produced. Man is not fundamentally good; his disobedience to God in the Garden demonstrates that he is fundamentally rebellious. That's why Jesus said all mankind was born in sin.2) It is rather amazing that Adam and Eve did not consider going for the Tree of Life. Instead of seeking life, they sought power, authority, and equality with God, all under the guise of deception from the enemy. Say what you will, but in the Garden, is equality a selfish need to be equal or superior? It's interesting because Jesus came to be a servant.3) A part of the penalty that doesn't get discussed quite often is that Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden and sent out to cultivate the ground. Their work would have been excellent if they had been able to cultivate in the Garden of Eden. But instead, because of their sin, they had to cultivate outside of the Garden, thereby making life tough instead of simple. Sin brought complexity to work.4) This last portion of Chapter 3 is truly amazing. God not only banishes Adam and Eve from the Garden but also puts up a protective angelic guardian to preserve and keep the Tree of Life and the way of life. Because of mankind's sin, they could not just freely eat the fruit, and now it is guarded, only to be revealed as God deems fit. By the way, that revelation is Jesus Christ.

A) 2nd Timothy chapter 2 verse 21 instructs us to cleanse ourselves from the latter vessels in order to become vessels of honor. The importance of connecting this to the previous verse lies in the understanding that we should not associate with people who are false teachers or pervert the faith. These individuals should be considered polluted, and we need to cleanse ourselves of them. A person who proclaims to be a Christian, but contradicts biblical teachings, is someone we should distance ourselves from. It's not that we can't share a casual soda with them, but we must guard against their influence in our lives, much like washing off dirt.B) Paul then guides Timothy on how to be a vessel of honor. Firstly, we are sanctified, which means we are set apart wholly unto the Lord, living, thinking, and breathing for Him. Secondly, we need to be prepared for every good work. This readiness is at the very heart of our DNA. The 'A' stands for 'always be ready', which is synonymous with being prepared for everything and every good work.C) Then Dave goes on a terror talking about listening to different ministries, including this one, He Must Increase Ministry and The. David Spoon Experience. If you engage with ministries and they do not help you get closer to the Lord, there's no point in sticking around. Be that radio or anywhere else. The goal is to help people draw closer to Jesus. If that's not happening after a considerable amount of time, it's time to reconsider where you're at or what you're listening to.

1) Friday signifies the time for Dr. Dave’s Devotional Diamonds of the Day. We have a lineup of classics for you. The show’s direction on Fridays often seems to be guided by the wind, a tradition we hope continues. Our first Devotional Diamond, “Pick It Up,” prompts us to consider what we should grasp in all our circumstances. When we confront the enemy’s flames, what should we pick up? We start to comprehend that faith is not only pleasing to God but also a powerful tool for victorious living.2) What complements faith? The answer is the power of prayer. Many of us, myself included, often find ourselves distracted by the circumstances we’re focused on. Scripture doesn’t limit us to praying only at the beginning, middle, or end. Instead, Scripture emphasizes that we should pray throughout all phases. We explored three characteristics that should accompany our prayers, as outlined in the Book of Ephesians.3) Roslyn calls in to share some prayer needs and also discusses an experience that Robert had with demonic powers in their home. David extensively discusses spiritual warfare, practical ways to handle what’s happening in their home, protective prayer, and standing in truth, which is the power against the father of lies. We must always remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. As we submit to the Lord and resist the enemy, he is compelled to flee. 4) We concluded this week’s shows with a comprehensive review of death. While it may not seem like a pleasant topic, for non-Christians, it can be intimidating because the next step is significant and potentially unpleasant. However, for Christians, understanding death means recognizing that it opens a door into a land we’ve been yearning to enter. Unlike the world, which fears death, true Christian faith believers understand that it brings us one step closer to our King, our Savior, and our Lord. Hallelujah.

A) In James Chapter 4, Verse 15, we are reminded of the importance of humility. This passage teaches us to say, “If the Lord is willing,” acknowledging that our plans are subject to God’s will. This concept echoes the Rabbinical proverb, “Man plans, and God laughs.” It’s a reminder that God is in control of the universe, not us.B) The scripture further clarifies this by stating, “If the Lord is willing, we will live and do this or that.” It’s a reminder of our mortality and the inevitability of our departure from this earthly journey. As stated in Hebrews, “There’s an appointment for man once to die and then the judgment.” There’s no reincarnation or rescheduling; if the Lord wills, we will live, and if He does not, we won’t.C) James also points out the source of our boasting - our prideful intentions. We often forget that there’s a master plan, and we are not the ones in control. The type of boasting we do in pride is evil, akin to the sin that led to Satan’s fall. When we operate in pride, we align ourselves with the enemy, thinking we can be like God.D) The key takeaway is this: if we know we shouldn’t do something and still do it, it’s a sin. Similarly, if we know we should do something and don’t do it, it’s also a sin. It’s easier to detect than one might think; we just need to check our conscience, or as you put it, our “guilt-o-meter.”E) James 5:1-3 presents a stern warning against those who hoard their wealth. God doesn’t hate the rich or the poor. However, those who hoard their wealth, whether money or other resources, to the point of decay demonstrate their guilt. God does not appreciate such behavior.

1) Starting in Acts 24:11, Paul begins his defense. We've previously discussed this as a form of apologetics, which is to defend the faith. Paul simply states that if one investigates the situation, they'll find that these accusations are false. This isn't difficult to understand. Satan is often the accuser of the brethren, and his accusations are frequently shrouded in lies, much like humanity's accusations against one another. Paul encourages people to seek the truth and not to rely solely on rumors.2) Without reservation, he declares, "I did not incite a riot. I did not argue with anybody." He quickly and boldly acknowledges that he is a follower of The Way, a group of people who follow Jesus Christ as the way, the truth, and the life. He then affirms his faith by stating that he believes in the Jewish law and everything written in the book of prophets. He asserts that the Old Testament leads into the New Testament and simply says, "I have hope in God." It is for this reason that people are upset with him.3) Paul then discusses some of his history, none of which involves him causing problems for others. He was merely providing financial aid to those who share his faith and fulfilling purification rituals. There was no rioting or any problems whatsoever. However, he makes the ultimate case that every Christian needs to be aware of: he was actually on trial because he believes in the resurrection of the dead.4) After Paul's straightforward defense, Felix, who was well-versed in the Christian faith, decided to delay any ruling and allow for a review of the case. In doing so, he granted Paul certain freedoms, including allowing his friends to visit him, take care of him, and meet his needs. This was a reduction in the intensity of the persecution Paul was experiencing, and he used this time to strengthen the faith of other believers in the church. When we catch a break, it's not the time to run and hide, but to encourage others.

A) In this riveting episode, Brother Sergio makes a thought-provoking inquiry about the distinctive red lettering of Jesus’ words in the New Testament, noting the absence of a similar feature in the Old Testament.B) David, taking the time to address this question, elucidates the origin of the red-letter tradition in biblical publications. He further explains the concept of chapters and verses and, interestingly, reveals that certain versions of the Old Testament do indeed highlight the words of God the Father, but in hues of blue or green. C) The conversation takes an exciting turn as the ‘Spoon Man’ delves deep into the subject of bibliology. For an uninterrupted span of 22 minutes, he passionately discusses the importance of understanding the Word of God. He emphasizes that familiarizing oneself with the Lord’s teachings enhances our comprehension during prayer, as it helps us better understand with whom we are communicating. D) This powerful yet practical observation underscores the synergy between the Word of God and prayer, and the profound impact this combination can have on our relationship with God. The ‘Spoon Man’ articulates this concept with such fervor that it seems as though he’s on a spirited spree, making the show an enlightening experience for all.

1) Phone calls, prayers, and trivia make up the core of this show, aiming to help people realize the benefits of being close to the Lord God Almighty.2) Dave then emphasizes the significance of the Lord's pruning in our spiritual growth. He discusses the two main principles that every Christian should adopt. 3) One thing to keep in mind is that we should prioritize ourselves and not let any other gods take precedence. There's no room for anything between us and God. When something comes between us and God, it becomes our ultimate focus. 4) Another aspect to consider is the idea of being broken. God is shaping and molding us with His deft touch, just like He does with clay. He can do whatever He wants with us. Actually, when He creates and then transforms us, it's just to make us better mirrors of Jesus Christ. 5) In Philippians 3:8–9, Dave emphasizes that all our other pursuits and achievements, whether religious or not, pale in comparison to the importance of knowing Christ Jesus, our Lord. Our connection with the Lord goes beyond what we can comprehend, as Jesus emphasizes the significance of sitting at His feet over serving (Luke 10:32). Our main focus is nurturing our connection with God through Jesus Christ and embracing the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

A) The show was amazing and full of fun, with Dave receiving a call from our brother Ace, who shares his favorite potluck dish. At potluck gatherings, Samson (our younger brother) also calls in to share his favorite things. JD then jumps in to respond to the trivia question. B) After that, Dave talks about Bibliology, including the amazing fact that God collaborated with humans to write the Bible. The Bible, which is God's Word, bears witness to God's unending desire to have fellowship with humankind. However, to disregard God's Word is to disregard His offer.

1) We return to the book of Romans, embracing the grace that emanates from scripture. As we discussed last week, Paul makes a dramatic shift from the concept of us all being sinners to the offer of grace that enables us to live eternally in harmony, joy, peace, and comfort with the Lord.2) In Romans Chapter 3, Verse 24, Paul states that it is God's gracious kindness, His grace, that declares us not guilty. We are pronounced not guilty, not because of our righteousness, but because of God's goodness. For those who believe they can earn God's love, they are mistaken. No one could ever do enough to earn it, especially since we've already sinned.3) On top of this incredible gift of being declared not guilty, Paul states that this has been accomplished through Jesus Christ, who has freed us by taking away our sins. So, when we stand before the Lord and try to remind Him of our sins, and He asks, "What are you talking about?" that is not the time to remind Him. Instead, it's the time to let go and move forward.4) Because God is holy, His righteousness had to be satisfied. Justice had to be served. As Verse 25 teaches us, God sent Jesus to take the punishment for our sins. It's not that our sins received no punishment; rather, our sins were placed upon Jesus to satisfy the wrath of the Lord. That's the gift.5) We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed His blood, sacrificing His life for us. That's how it happens - not when we achieve something, not when we do something, but when we truly believe that Jesus died on the cross for us, giving Himself over so that we can be at peace with the Father.

A) The disciples realize this event is much more significant than they initially thought. They ask a question that has been on their minds for a long time: “Why do the teachers insist that Elijah must first come before the Messiah?” They ask this because they haven’t seen Elijah and are trying to understand how everything fits together.B) Jesus challenges their assumption by stating that they have already seen Elijah. Indeed, Elijah has already come. In the mind and heart of God, John the Baptist was the Elijah to come. He came in the spirit and power of Elijah, transforming Israel as Elijah did, and served as the forerunner to the Messiah.
