A) AM Radio down, but the show was not OUT. On the mount of Transfiguration, the Disciples witness something extraordinary. They’ve never seen anything like it in a comic book, on television, or on the internet, and no one has ever depicted it. This isn’t in the daily Jerusalem news. Jesus’s appearance changes. They know what he looks like from a human perspective, but at this moment, his face is shining like the sun. B) As if we could fully comprehend, his clothes become dazzling white. If we apply our understanding from science fiction, we know that when a face disappears and light takes its place, it’s utterly bizarre from a movie magic perspective. How much more bizarre it must be for the disciples when it’s happening right in front of them. And it’s all real.C) As if this moment isn’t already as bizarre as anything any human being has ever seen or experienced, the next event could be equally strange. At that very moment, while Jesus was shining like the sun and his clothes were dazzling white, Moses and Elijah appeared and started talking with Jesus. Don’t dismiss this too quickly. How did they know it was Moses and Elijah, and how were they conversing with a being whose face was full of light and whose clothes were dazzlingly bright? It’s a mystery.

1) Returning to Genesis 3:8, we immediately discover that Adam and Eve could hear the Lord walking in the garden towards the evening, prompting them to hide. This moment is fascinating, not for the sinfulness, but for the engagement from God. They could hear God walking in the garden. What was that experience like? I am deeply interested in understanding that. 2) Next, God appears towards the evening. While many have speculated about the reasons, nothing prior to this moment provides definitive authority to their interpretations. It could simply be because the evening marks the end of the day. One thing is clear: God's intent was to spend time with His creation, seemingly on a daily basis. 3) Finally, God calls out to Adam, asking, "Where are you?" It wasn't that God didn't know Adam's location. Rather, God was pointing out to Adam that he was not where he was supposed to be at the expected time. God was calling him out. There was no chance for Adam to hide indefinitely. God confronted His creation. That was true for Adam. It’s also true for everyone else, including you and me.

A) Paul then boldly proclaims something he had mentioned earlier to Timothy and Titus. He urges them to “endure all things for the sake of the elect.” This means we should tolerate whatever comes our way, especially if it provides an opportunity to bless God’s elect, His chosen children. Even if a situation appears difficult, it doesn’t make it any less opportunistic to be an example to bless people.B) Paul shares quotations from an early hymn or confession to demonstrate the Lord’s faithfulness. He says, “If we die in the Lord, we live in the Lord… If we endure, we reign.” This serves as motivation. However, if we continually deny God, not just momentarily, we will be ashamed before Him at His coming. If we prove unfaithful, it doesn’t change who God is. He will always remain faithful.

1) Have you ever spent time searching for something specific? You look everywhere, maybe for a car, a great deal on clothes, or perhaps new tech like a computer or phone. It's like a search party. Similarly, God is on a search party, looking all over the Earth for those who are fully committed to Him. He wants to give them a gift, but only those who are fully committed will receive it.2) What is God without a Hollywood production? That's how the world often perceives Him. But it's not just about Hollywood. Do you think that only this generation needs sparklers, rainbows, Skittles, stage lights, scripts, directors, and a grand production? Let me help you understand that you're about 2600 years behind the curve. Back in the Old Testament, when people expected God to act, they anticipated nothing short of a brilliant show. But sometimes, the Lord prefers simplicity.3) A proverb says, "The pathway to hell is paved with good intentions." The problem with this proverb is that good intentions matter to God. Good intent is an important part of a person's process, and God acknowledges every person's good intention. When David wanted to do something for the Lord out of a good heart and spirit, the Lord told him he couldn't do it because he wasn't the right man for the job. But God told him, "You have done well in wanting to do it." When you want to do something right for God, it counts in His heart and mind. So remember, the core does matter.

1) Fridays are always engaging on The David Spoon Experience, as David provides teachings on James Chapter 4, verses 7 and 8. It’s important to understand that our daily call is to submit ourselves to God and resist the devil, for then the devil will flee. The devil will not flee if we are not submitted to God, and we must be honest about which areas of our lives are submitted to Him and which are not. 2) In verse 8, David discusses the scripture’s teaching that if we draw closer to God, He will draw closer to us. God is waiting for us to move towards Him. He has already established the path through Jesus Christ. Now, it’s our responsibility to walk through the door.”

1) Hold on to your hats…because during today’s show, we have a very special treat. Bob Hartman, from the classic and awesome Chrisitan band: Petra, will be joining us LIVE on The David Spoon Experience. It is diifficulkt to gage just how much of impact this band has had on thousands and thousands of believers, new believers, and not yet believers. But we will get to talk about the man, the band, their concerts, and their desire to honor in the Lord in all that they do…How cool is this?!2) Dave exposits our need for one another and for one another's participation in fellowship to help one another: He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love (Ephesians 4:16).3) Your life is not about paying the mortgage or the rent. It's about Jesus Christ: When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory (Colossians 3:4).

A) By a vote of the people, we will be journeying into the Book of Jude. But that was just in fun and for fun. Contrary to popular opinion and flawed theology, the voice of the people is not the voice of God. The word of God is the voice of God, and we study the word of God. In the Book of Jude, we discover many powerful truths that seem to be at the forefront of the very century we live in.B) As we delve into one of the shorter books of the New Testament, we learn that Jude himself was a brother of Jesus Christ and James. The latter was the leader of the early church from Acts 15 and was also a sibling of Jesus. What’s amazing about James and Jude is that they came to believe in Jesus later in life. However, in their earlier lives, they could not see the truth.C) Most scholars date the writing of this epistle to roughly around 65 to 70 AD. This particular letter has a very specific purpose. The theme is simple: one must defend the one true faith. Believers must remain faithful to the end by resisting false teachings and adhering to the truth. This is probably more relevant now than it was even at the beginning of the church, given how accommodating different denominations and seminaries are to the cultural shifts of the day.D) To fully understand this letter, it’s important to note that false teachers had infiltrated the church and were distorting the truth. As it was then, just as it is now. Some think that Jude was referring to Gnostics who worship knowledge versus God, but it appears that this is only part of the picture. Other individuals were introducing different forms of false teachings, all of which were contrary to the gospel. Jude is not for the faint of heart, and neither is being a Christian.

1) First up, Roslyn calls in giving us an update on our PETRA interview with Bob Hartman, that's coming up tomorrow. And she also shares with the audience how the whole interview came about. Totally awesome stuff. Then, Dave teaches on glasses. 2) Dave says, "I don't often share this, but the truth is, as I reached the age of 50, my vision started to blur. I hadn't eaten enough carrots, which was a bummer. Consequently, I needed glasses, specifically reading glasses, to clearly see the letters in the Bible. It became apparent that these glasses provided me with greater clarity and the ability to grasp things in my mind because my eyes were focused." This is what we need for our Christian walk.3) The real question might be, why do we need to see everything through faith and not through our own sight? What is the reasoning behind that? Some of us with type A personalities might not like what I'm about to say. But the reality check is that when we stop seeing with faith, we take over. We no longer leave room for the Lord to perform miracles until we've exhausted all our energy and strength based on what we see and what we think is best.

1) Romans 2:25 makes it clear that circumcision has a value “IF” there is a serious commitment to keep the Laws in an earnest attempt to honor God. HOWEVER, let’s be real. The sign of circumcision (which clearly illustrates too much flesh) is accessed by many, but useless to many as well. It’s the same as claiming that a person is a Christian but does not know Jesus. However, they visit one of His many houses, at least twice a year.2) The reality in the framework off The Scripture is that if a person is keeping the Laws of God without being circumcised, they are more so faithful then those who are circumcised, but care nothing for God’s commands. They, even though being uncircumcised, are functioning truer to God then those who think the ceremony alone is sufficient.3) Then the Apostle Paul drops a New Testament truth that shakes the Old Covenant people to their core. “You” referring to the audience in Rome of Jewish and Non-Jewish believers, are not an authentic or true Jew because your parents are born Jewish. The truth is that a person is not the faith of ANYTHING because their parents are born that way. Lineage does not guarantee perpetuation of faith or character.4) A TRUE Jew is one who is defined as having their heart right with God. A TRUE Jew with a true circumcision is not bound to the male gender. True circumcision, in the eyes of God is one that the Holy Spirit performs on a faithful believer’s heart. BTW: The mother is not the key to pedigree. Ask the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob.5) And then the Apostle Paul pushes a new reality on the saints. Do we want to know if we are Spiritually Circumcised, whether we are male of female? The answer is simple. When we, as follows of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit are genuine, we seek to please the Lord god Almighty and not people. Are we people pleasers? Don’t be.

A) As a precursor to one of the most significant moments in human history, Jesus assures his disciples that some of them will not die before they witness the Son of Man coming into his kingdom. This does not imply that the disciples will live until the return of Jesus Christ. The kingdom is both now and in the future. These disciples will witness a manifestation of the Kingdom of God in less than a week.B) Matthew Chapter 17 takes us to a place in scripture that has never been fully understood. After Jesus proclaims that some of the disciples present will not die until they witness the manifestation of the kingdom, his words come to pass six days later. We now ascend to the Mount of Transfiguration.C) It may be helpful to understand that Peter, James, and John are accompanying Jesus up a high mountain. The four of them are together. If we take a moment to understand that they are unaware of what they’re about to encounter, but they’re going there with Jesus, it provides a great illustration of how the Lord works in our personal lives. The journey up the mountain, which is usually challenging, becomes an important truth about encountering something beyond our understanding with Jesus.

1) Now we delve into the deeper aspects that people despise because it's going to shatter political correctness, wokeness, reparations, academics, politics, the media, Hollywood, and woke cultural nuances. Here it comes. Satan tells Eve, "When you eat the fruit, you will become like God." Do you want to know the two technical elements of sin that Satan introduced? They are (1) not surrendering to God as the king of the universe and (2) attempting to be equal with God. Equality is a sin, especially when it's directed at God. It's also a sin if Adam and Eve were to consider the animals as equal to them.2) The reason it's a sin is simple: nobody is like God. When the creation believes they are equal to the creator, they have abandoned their purpose of being created. The other aspect of this discussion involves not understanding what God has recently commanded. Adam and Eve were in charge of the Earth, just as God is in charge of the universe. Attempting to establish some form of equality between God, man, and animal is in direct conflict with God's declaration and command.3) Here comes the problem. Verse 6 says the woman was convinced. There it is. Being convinced by a lie leads people to take actions they shouldn't, which are contrary to God. Once Eve was convinced, she saw the fruit as something that looked delicious and would make her wise. Once she convinced herself that it was okay to disobey God, she began to see things differently. This happens to everyone.
